Ya blame it on the weather these few days/weeks. The price is high cause the ultrabay GPU comes with another 170w power supply. You will need it when running both GPU. Not sure about y400 but my y500 when running on batt the GPU clock speed is cap (SLI). You only get full performance when running on mains.

The amazing thing is I can play games on my 51" TV via HDMI (I play World of tanks) in full HD while getting great frame rates.

Currently no complains so far for my y500. Hope the same is true for your y400 ya. Enjoy it  biggrin.gif

the recent y500 SLI is making me drool.gif drool.gif

ya, the stupid weather is totally making me rclxub.gif

when running in SLI more, all games are supporting it? read a few pages back that dota2 has no luck on it? hmm.gif

when you're running games in FHD, all effects are max? 650 SLI?

Oh, thank you for your explanation! But what about micro-stuttoring. How we experience this.
*
You'll notice this if you have experienced smooth 60FPS before.

When a game is running 60FPS as measured by any software capable of doing this, the game is running real smooth... Under micro-stuttering situation the animation is measured to be 60fps, however it's not as smooth as it should be...

Check with www.geforce.com to see if your game is supported ya. Ya mine is gt650m. You can download geforce experience to get the recommended settings for your games from nvidia, but I tweak the settings so I can balance the frame rates with graphics quality. BTW y500 is a full HD screen therefor my settings are the same running from the laptop monitor or my TV.

I think you can't run games on max settings cause even though this is running in SLI (depending on which games), there is a limitation for mobile GPU when compared to the desktop equivalent. When compared to other notebooks the Y series easily beat them in terms of spec and price. Only gripe I have is the build quality, it could be better (when compared to alienware & other gaming laptops).

Everyone seems moody with the weather around me these days... unsure.gif and I feel woozy lately too... blink.gif

Well, don't expect it to run Crysis 3 with everything maxed out but Crysis (original one) looked neat with everything turned to the highest possible setting. brows.gif

wao, gonna get it if there is a single Gt750m.
I m choosing single Gt750m because i m only casual gamers, and single card will definitely cooler than dual graphic SLi

Both y400 and y500 comes with a single card variant. But with 2 GPU the cooling is well design and can handle the heat. You will get hot air (sometimes very hot) coming from the vents but the keyboard and palm rest only slightly warm to the touch.

Absolutely, the build of y400 could really be better. The hinge especially, although it's tight, but it can be better. My old Asus was doing a great job.

But, it's good enough. Love the carbon looking yo. brows.gif

Btw, any places for recommendation to get 650m ultra bay for y400? biggrin.gif

Gaming? Haha. Tried nfs most wanted 2 maxed out, not really good though and since ultra bay is available for us, make it SLI while giving it a longer bit bit life span? laugh.gif

GT650m... herm why don't just overclock it with 3rd party software?
current GT750m is just a rebrand oced of GT650m biggrin.gif
and the cooling is just as same as the newer GT750m based Y400
