Guys wanna ask, what's the difference between our local set of y400 and us set y400. It seems like us set got better specs. If US set, will there be any problem if I wanna claim warranty later? Or should I just buy the local Malaysia set?

- Major warranty claim issues on imported set((AP set) of Y580 face by unlucky forumer.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2491914/+930
Case 1) Replied from Lenovo Malaysia in their facebook for the user who bought the imported set (AP set) quoted below:
Lenovo Malaysia:
"Hi Ms Radhika, sorry for the delay. I have intended to contact you as soon I was able to speak to the reseller who sold you the U300 but was unable to since their number was not reachable, however, in the process, dialled your brother's number which was written in the purchase invoice (thinking it could be the salesman's contact number) and I have spoken to him with regards to the management disposition on this case.

Lenovo management has decided that we will not be able to support your request for a replacement or refund because this machine is a US based machine. The dealer who sold you the unit is not an authorized Lenovo reseller. I have tried to contact the reseller but to no avail, in order to advise them the situation and for them to liase with you with regards to the solution that they may be able to offer you. I suggest that you walk in to the reseller's office if you also fail to reach them via telephone and bring up this issue to them.

Although Lenovo is an international company, the services that we render is subjected to the company's local policy and at the same time governed by Lenovo International Term & Condition.

For your existing U300 which are still at our service center, we will finish up the repair but there won't be any more warranty repair should any issue surfaces after this. "
this should help in factoring your choice of getting local or AP set

I don't have DoTA 2 but it should have SLi profile for it. Since 310.XX got already.

otherwise try this

Force SLI on games.

Nvidia Control Pannel > 3D Settings >

Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration = Single display performance mode
Power Management Mode = Prefer Maximum Performance
SLI rendering mode = Force Alternate frame rendering 2
Vertical Sync = Off

What did u chose when installing the driver? Clean install or overwrite?

I experienced tearing when on SLi for Dota2 only.
Other games went smoothly.

Btw, what "Force Alternate frame rendering 2" do?

Clean Install is the better option, normally i choose overwrite (I'm LAZY)

BTW, force alternate frame rendering means where each video card will take turns rendering a single frame by itself.

Alternatively, you can try the patch which one forumer post long time ago to improve synchronization of 2 GPUs.

IF you still facing tearing, DoTA 2 settings should have Vertical Sync, enable it to prevent tearing.

Just enable the v-sync to avoid screen tearing.
It is because the screen of y500 is only 60hz, it can't catch up with 60fps and above.

LoL. I once overwrite (forgot which version), until my fifa13 cannot start. Need to uninstall the driver and install it clean.

Improve sync of SLi? Is it the "EVGA"?

v-sync enabled, but it doesn't remove entirely the tearing. Just a bit.
The tear only happens when i activate SLi for the game. If i choose 1 GPU, then everything's ok.

Though i can see the diff between SLi and single GPU, 10fps diff.
With SLi averaging at 60fps, and single GPU at 50fps and below.

Normal displays has refresh rate of 60Hz... if the picture on your screen is changing more than 60 times per second (the 60Hz) the image will tear because the graphic card and monitor is not in sync and the image on monitor is updated parts by parts which cause the tearings.

So, V-sync will wait for new data for whole screen before telling graphic card it can send to monitor. Since monitor can only show 60 screens in 1 second, so the framerate by graphic card will be limited to 60. Since the update is now image of whole screens instead of parts by parts the tearing is eliminated.

I know this is pretty much oversimplified, but that's more or less how it works.

guys I just bought my y400, free dos.

When i got back home, I tried to install my ehem2 windows 7, and once i finished install it, i put the drivers cd to install the drivers for my laptop hardware. Unfortunately when it comes to VGA, i cannot install the nvidia GPU. It kept saying "Install Cannot Continue: This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I kept trying for few times and its still the same, which I cant install my GT750M. Did anyone experience the same problem as me? Please help. Im very dissapointing now. Is it because my set is defect or something? Or this GT750M only compatible Windows 8? Please help me guys.
