Hi Kagamistar,
I know your situation well, my comments is you can go for the pineng which is tested on this forum and the original mi 10400mAH power bank.

I have tested it and was very happy with it. For its 10400mAH power bank can charge my Asus Fonepad HD7 of 3950mAH battery 1.9 times. Tested with my phonepad from 0%-100% with power on to check mAH current input, it utilised about half of the powerbank. Waited after two days I charge my phonepad again with the remaining power, manage to get 0%-90% before the powerbank run out of juice.

Charge time is quick as well, just like using a wall adapter. The output current to the phone is >500 and 1000+.
I can use the phone while charging and the percent still going up gradually.

While other powerbank I use sensonic P10 (RM99, Now RM89) battery percentage will deplete or stays on current percent, it still goes up but very very slow. The current input to phone is 500+- but < 1000, sometimes an alert "insufficient current" message appear on the phone screen.

I have been looking for an efficient powerbank which has a rapid charging capabilities, able to hold actual mAH and price right.

You will never go wrong with pineng (I don't have one but is tested and efficient) or mi (10400mAH) which I have tested. Besides the price is good.

Regards.

Yes plenty. They look almost identical and you can't tell from the external appearance.

One of the methods to test is to connect the usb cable to charge itself ie loop the cable to short the powerbank.

Fake ones will have the LEDs light up while the genuine one will not light up. light

Hi all,

This blogger did a teardown and full load testing with his equipment for the Mi 10400 powerbank. I recommended him to test and he actually went ahead with it.

http://goughlui.com/2014/10/02/review-tear...mah-power-bank/

I have been reading his blog a bit and he has torn down a lot of powerbanks. His conclusion on the Mi pb is that he is simply amazed at the performance of such an inexpensive piece of kit.

It is 85% efficient at 2A output !!!

My Mi powerbank 10400 is truly dead. Can't be charged nor can charge any other devices. No light blinks. Not sure what really went wrong.

Thinking of sending back to Mi service centre, but after doing some calculation (fuel, toll, time to Amcorp), better / more cost effective just to buy a new one. RM36 only. Hehehe

What are some of the "premium features" that are not available on the xiaomi powerbanks according to this article?
http://www.techgarage.my/why-xiaomi-offers...-banks-cheaply/

I need to get a powerbank but xiaomi has been out of stock for a while. I'll probably some other brand.

Xiaomi is better than my pineng powerbank at charging my mobile phone when I use it for navigation. With Xiaomi, the phone manage to charge even though heavy on GPS. On Pineng, it only slow down the discharging rate, so most likely it is not as high ampere as Xiaomi maybe. Both are original. 10400 mAh each. Another plus point is it is smaller than Pineng, but has only one USB port.

Try to lookup at mudah. They are still cheaper than other original brand powerbank.

Watch out for fakes, easy to recognise with this guide, http://en.miui.com/thread-19104-1-1.html

The colour of the USB ports a bit different on the fake ones.

I'm thinking can we just disassemble the Xiaomi Powerbank battery cell and re-assemble into our Laptop Battery Cells?

Due to cost saving measures, even the genuine units use a white cardboard box.

BTW where did you buy your units?
