found an interesting listing in Lelong

http://www.lelong.com.my/hot-selling-muoge...7-01-Sale-I.htm

the cover and outside case looks exactly like Pineng's but they are not using 18650 batteries.

they allegedly use superior Korean li-po cells.

brand is MUOGE, but I can't find any legit links to this brand in google search.

it's not only lithium cell or polymer cells

flat lithium polymer generally swollen and degrade faster than 18650 cells.
in terms of applications, 18650 cells have pressure release holes to ensure the cell doesnt get swollen.

if you dont believe me, click on the links below

https://www.google.com/search?q=lithium+pol...attery&tbm=isch

anyway, the 30k is overrated.

all lithium 18650 cells generally have lifespan of 500 cycles. which includes charging and discharging as 1 cycle.

if your are using a full pack of powerbank. 1 cycle per day, you are still being able to use 1.5years.
the batteries failed within 3months because they were recycled batteries, not new ones.
not because they are 18650 cells.

what this user is saying is pure crap. rolleyes.gif

see how i test batteries here

yeap, it impossible. just sharing to warn people.

30k/2.6k is 11.++. the enclosure would need to be twice as long or thicker to accomodate those cells.

i bought a PN910 from a friend who went to china for a short trip. ordered straight from their website, and s/n checked alright. but haven't collected the powerbank from him.

interesting info in your thread. esp with regards to the grade of cells used in Pineng's powerbank.

are you using the exact enclosure and circuit boards with only the battery cells changed?

in pineng website, they say that the in input is 5v/2a, but yours is 1a max. so actually, even the Pineng units accept 1A max only?

but then again, higher A may lead to faster deterioration of the cells.

edit:

also, i found an interesting link of testing done on different brands of 18650 cells

2A input for their board ??
not sure though. in order for 2A charging, the whole system is completely different
1. board must support 2A
2. charger must be 2A
3. cables must support 2A (normal microUSB can handle 1A max) only

i doubt it's truely 2A for that price because it's impossible to built if it's the same price rolleyes.gif

even if the board is rated at 2A, charger not 2A or cable cant support up to 2A it's still not charging at that.
again just another marketing gimmick.

recently i built a 2A charging unit with 6 panasonic 3400mAh = 20,000mAh for a customer (sarawakian)
so far so good.....it's a totally different system altogether.

had to give him a true power 5V 2A Delta brand charger too. of course the costing would be so much higher.

i was told that the powerbank outputs of 1A is for phones while 2A is for tablets.

may i know what will happen if one wrongly put the 2A output to a phone or 1A output to a tablet? will it burn the phone or not charging the tablet respectively?

how about note 3? is it considered as a phone or a tablet? or both 1A and 2A can be used to charge a note 3 (just a matter of speed)?

The phone/tablet will pull the required current. If the pb cannot supply enough it will just charge slower. This is fine in most cases except for some tablets that require a specific resistance value in the cable.

ha. pineng malaysia site shows the input as 1~2A

but their listing at their official tmall site, shows input as DC 5v/1a doh.gif (well at least i think so, i can't read mandarin tongue.gif )
http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10...&id=20340460253

why not try AllnGap's powerbank? he is using Pineng enclosure with Samsung cells, or you can customise to your specs too, from him.

i see... so it will not burn out or spoil the battery if 2A output was put into a phone right? rclxms.gif

You can, right? From the first pic you seem to have the replacement batteries (red) already.

Some soldering will do?

most powerbank should be compatible to most smartphones. they can even charge older phones as long as you have the connector. so no worries there. biggrin.gif

one thing special about laptop battery is the eeprom.
it will remember the percentage of battery. if i have fully charged it and discharge the battery bypass the circuit, it will resulting the battery cannot be charge through the circuit. laptop will show 100% fully charged.

i guess what should i do is before i dissasemble the battery, i fully charged it. new battery also fully charged. then assemble ot. should be ok.

4th gen ipad capacity is 11,560.

48% is 5549.

Your powerbank is 46% of the advertise capacity. Not even half.

may be the efficiency is not that good enough or it is using the recycled battery that have lower capacity.
