Just now took my dad's 1.5 GLi manual Wira for a midnite run to my favourite urban road near Nirvana Sungai Besi.

That car is built surprisingly solid, 12 year old but the dashboard does not rattle at all. What's more surprising is, even with those 13" rims, the car performs quite impressively on the curvy road, it is stable around corners and at high speeds. Steering response is not as good as the FLX SE, but around the corners it is more composed than the Saga and less dramatic, probably due to the very low ride height. Or perhaps, Mitsu R&H > Lotus R&H? hmm.gif

The engine leaves a lot to be desired. The 4G15 is SOHC, that means there really is no point dragging the gear to 4k RPM because the max torque has already been dispensed at 3k RPM and drops pretty sharply after that. I manage to push until 120km/h @ around 4k RPM before the engine ran out of breath. It is a old engine, after all. And only god knows why the clutch bite point is so damn high.

It does have a lot of modding potential, though. brows.gif If only my sister didn't trade in my brother's 1.5 GL, which I remember is an even better car sad.gif

Sometimes I will drive it because that car less use.
That wira is my grandpa favorite car, until he pass away this car is less active.
The sad case is last time before he pass away he use to drive this wira and fetch me back from school. And midnight he suddenly pass away. I was like omg, that day he still ask me when you will get your driving license and say many good thing for driving and bla bla. Then now I got that feel to take care of my grandpa wira. tongue.gif

I guess so. But IMHO, don't really see much reason to flush unless recommended by his magician. Unlike an engine, there isn't anything entering or exiting a gearbox other than torque.

have to flush adi i think... cant even enter 5th gear sometimes... stuck...

If kanjiloo knows how to LC2K, heel and toe and rev match perfectly for every shift, no matter how he drives the tranny will last the life of his car nod.gif

As for me, I was a manual n00b when I first got my Gaga so maybe my gearbox condition at 60k km is even worse than kanjiloo's tongue.gif

The last time I drove his car in October or November last year it was just at 100k km, so I suspect now it's 115-120k already.

KenBelok mia 4WD with no ESP, mine mia FWD with no LSD and ESP that kenot be switched off sleep.gif

You try gymkhana with it, 1st corner will become one wheel drive, you turn right the car wanna turn left, then engine cut power, eberibodi laugh at you. Stick with Saga better, at least least engine won't cut power unsure.gif

True also. So stock to stock, which do you find is better? Persona or Wira?

I find the Waja stock handling to be sub par. If the Wira is given the same wheel sizes, I think it can outperform the Waja. But my Waja days are kinda vague to me now....I only remember how surprised I was to find that my Saga has less bodyroll than Waja sweat.gif

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question. I'm an owner of the 1st batch of saga blm year 2008. Since its nearly 5 years i find the suspension is now alot softer. A friend of mine is selling his flx 1.6 absorbers n springs. Can the flx absorbers n springs fit on the blm?

If not, ive done some research and looks like most ppl recommend sapura absorbers + springs or kayaba absorbers + springs. Any comments for these? I know comfort level is compromised abit for this but I dont mind.

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

hmm.gif Hard to say, really. Wira is a much lighter car, which makes tackling corners and getting out of them in one clean cut is easy. High speed stability and cornering, Persona gets the win.

Amazing, considering that time was when Potong's QC was supposed to be at its worst, I remember stuff literally falling off my father's Iswaga aeroback doh.gif

As pointed out above, multi-link > torsion beam (unless tuned by Renaultsport tongue.gif). Want better steering? Add FSB brows.gif Also, the Wigra's successor is the Gen 2 / Persona anyway.
