If he wants to flush....it will require more right? hmm.gif
*
I guess so. But IMHO, don't really see much reason to flush unless recommended by his magician. Unlike an engine, there isn't anything entering or exiting a gearbox other than torque.

QUOTE(xandras @ Apr 30 2013, 09:04 PM)
Not just about what's entering/exiting it, it's about all the metallic particles that may chip off from repeated grinding/engaging/disengaging of the gear. Same goes with your engine. Service on the first 1000KMs is to flush out all these particles to prevent them from damaging more delicate parts like the pistons and seal rings.

Yuppers

QUOTE(dares @ Apr 30 2013, 09:08 PM)
There will be accumulation of metal particles in the fluid.

Though I agree there is rarely need to flush a transmission, just change fluid more frequently.... But then the way kanjiloo drives..... hmm.gif
*
If kanjiloo knows how to LC2K, heel and toe and rev match perfectly for every shift, no matter how he drives the tranny will last the life of his car nod.gif

As for me, I was a manual n00b when I first got my Gaga so maybe my gearbox condition at 60k km is even worse than kanjiloo's tongue.gif

The last time I drove his car in October or November last year it was just at 100k km, so I suspect now it's 115-120k already.

QUOTE(dares @ May 1 2013, 12:36 AM)
That car is built surprisingly solid, 12 year old but the dashboard does not rattle at all.

Amazing, considering that time was when Potong's QC was supposed to be at its worst, I remember stuff literally falling off my father's Iswaga aeroback doh.gif

QUOTE
What's more surprising is, even with those 13" rims, the car performs quite impressively on the curvy road, it is stable around corners and at high speeds. Steering response is not as good as the FLX SE, but around the corners it is more composed than the Saga and less dramatic, probably due to the very low ride height. Or perhaps, Mitsu R&H > Lotus R&H?  hmm.gif

As pointed out above, multi-link > torsion beam (unless tuned by Renaultsport tongue.gif). Want better steering? Add FSB brows.gif Also, the Wigra's successor is the Gen 2 / Persona anyway.

QUOTE
The engine leaves a lot to be desired. The 4G15 is SOHC, that means there really is no point dragging the gear to 4k RPM because the max torque has already been dispensed at 3k RPM and drops pretty sharply after that. I manage to push until 120km/h @ around 4k RPM before the engine ran out of breath. It is a old engine, after all. And only god knows why the clutch bite point is so damn high.
*
Sounds like the perfect engine for me, rev so high for what? whistling.gif Btw Gaga's clutch bite point is damn high too, but I like it whistling.gif

QUOTE(kenjilew @ May 1 2013, 01:10 AM)
have to flush adi i think... cant even enter 5th gear sometimes... stuck...

Hope your synchros are all right sweat.gif

Further info...re Rad Coolant....

In Gaga User  manual, total required vol is 5L.
Concentration between 25-35%....

My logic...kenot be buying 5L of that stuff 2use pure, true?
5 x RM16 = RM80 liao....  sweat.gif

Let's say using concentration of 30% wld mean 1& 1/2L...
Means me wld need another bottle...?
Correct?  icon_question.gif  notworthy.gif

Btw re the Toyota LLC many are shouting abt in most forums, izzit ready-mixed?
Good?
Pricewise?
Also lots of reports of imitations... doh.gif
True?
*
For my last service record, my coolant costs about RM30. So I expect the two bottles you bought are just nice, add with another 4L of water. If in doubt, maybe add another bottle.

The question is, the one he bought is pre-mixed or concentrate?

IMHO, if it was pre-mixed it wouldn't come in such small bottles. They'll sell it in a 5+L large bottle.

Going strictly by the instructions, it's not to be mixed with anything else, just pour inside.

But logically, I think it should be mixed with water. Like I said it doesn't make sense to buy 10 bottles of those just to fill up your 5L radiator tank.

Better consult your local mechanic on this sweat.gif

Good idea. Next time just buy coolant that has clear, specific instructions.

I suspect that coolant isn't really produced by Petronas, merely branded as so. After all coolant is not a fuel nor lubricant hmm.gif

thanks~
But usually go service will bring back the bottle with little leftover oil. Why ah? Is it cause got some remnant oil left in the engine during service that is not replaced? :S
*
My bottle never gets returned to me, but when I watch them pour the oil they typically leave the bottle upside down at the oil fill hole for quite a few minutes. Likewise, when they pull out the drain plug it's also left for quite a few minutes so the old oil should be almost completely drained hmm.gif

Strictly speaking, according to the manual it's 3.75L for the oil pan and another 0.3L for the oil filter.

omg steering rack ha?
so what do i do now?
my warranty is gonna expire in 2 months. @@.

Faster go and claim lah. Btw you should not turn your steering to either extreme ends until you hit the bump, it's a design flaw that the steering rack does not have a proper stopper for the ends and hitting the bump continuously will damage the steering rack whistling.gif

Can help?
Any other Bro...?
Wld truly appreciate  icon_question.gif TQ!

Any recommenations of suitable Long Life rad coolant 4Gagas?
Eg Shell...Caltex?
*
Obviously Petronas refuses to acknowledge the coolant under their brand exists. Next time don't buy anything else from them other than fuel or lubricant whistling.gif

I didn't catch what brand of coolant was used during service but the part number is printed on my receipt at home.

use better sponge to hold the tweeter if no.. later u drift here drift there, play rallying a while, ur tweeter might fall off...

Firstly how do you get the vent cover off? Just use skrudriber and korek? hmm.gif

And the tweeter is only held in place by the sponge, no double sided tape or anything?
