nup... the funny thing is it detects my NAS .. then... you can open 'folders' by media type  such as photos, video or music... THEN... the best part is that it bypasses my authentication to the NAS HDD's... I can direct access all media files on it.. LOL If I was to use normal desktop windows or OSX it will ask for login credentials to access the NAS .. .
*
It's probably using the same security token from the desktop session, 'bypassing' your NAS credentials means there's something wrong with the NAS...

While the keys feel much better on the Type Cover 2.. .the BLOODY TOUCHPAD... AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Damn unusable in the dark!! Have to keep trying to feel for the correct edge, and so hard to feel if you've actually touched the button or not...

3DS Max? Great, that'll be something to tell people who keep saying the Surface Pro is underpowered for any real work.

For me, the Surface Pro is my main system where all my code is written and designed. I like the small 10" size which allows me to take it almost everywhere and get my work done, such as sitting in the school canteen while waiting for my son to finish his Saturday activities.

And when I get in the office, I plug it into a USB hub, and it becomes the center piece of my... 'command center' tongue.gif

SPro users, if i install dreamweaver, adobe Ps, AI, Acrobat & Ms Office, will there be any lagging? Tq
*
Why would there be any lagging if you just installed the programs? You try running all of them at the same time and switch around all over the place, then maybe it might lag a bit while it's doing disk swapping. But that'd be the same case for any 4GB notebook considering you're talking about PS and AI here.

Worth the price for the specs and features? Would appreciate some feedback. I'm a little rusty with current available notebook specs and their prices and what's available out there. Thanks.
*
Specs and features wise, you can get a similar windows ultrabook at a lower price. One of the main reasons for buying a Surface Pro is wheter or not you prefer the small, lightweight, 10" form factor.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I thought the small form factor and weight is quite difficult to find in other ultrabooks and those are the features I'm attracted too.
*
Do try it out before buying and see wheter you can handle the 1080P resolution on such a 10" screen though.

I have no doubt that 1080p resolution would be fine on it and that the 10" screen is able to output 1080p. Must be super small. It would only be useful if I output to an external screen which I plan to do.

As for 1080p video playback, my old lowly dual core Celeron 1.2GHz with lowly built-in graphic is able to handle 1080p, the i5 should not break a sweat.
*
Mainly it's the small type one on the 10" which gets people.

Don't need Celeron for 1080P lar, the new Atom Baytrail can even decode 4K with a little stress.

Pretty sure it's not necessary anymore, now it's a blacklist, means that Flash is enabled on most sites, and disabled on some.

Here we go.

the PRO battery life isn't that attractive, i am looking alternative way as well.
maybe will go for 12V powerbank (Intocircuit) which allow to charge up the PRO on-the-go. but be prepare your wallet

Or you could try and ship the Power Cover over.

wahai Surface Pro owner.. have u guys encounter this bluetooth mouse lagging problem?  u'll feel it more if output to external monitor + downloading sumething from internet. Quick solved it by turn off Wifi and suddenly feel butter-smooth mouse movement. Check microsoft forum this is because the chip for wifi n BT is sharing together. this problem are still not solve on Surface Pro 2 since it using the same hardware.
*
The crazy BT mouse issues? Yeah, have that every now and then.. irritating.. I toggle the power of my mouse, faster than toggling the WiFi.
