I personally know someone from the marketing team. Few factors they have issues with which are quite hard to overcome are :

1. They do not have a strong distribution arm locally. (Unlike Apple with their Apple stores, etc)
2. Logistics
3. SIRIM (Which was the main issue for the late release of v1)
4. HQ in the States having stock issues. Youre gonna have problems finding stocks in the States too.

Whatever it is, i saw the Surface 2 he had. Its really cool. Especially the backlit cover
*
1 & 2 is supposed to be helped by the Nokia merging.
3 & 4 I guess no control there.

Thats what i thought too regarding 1 & 2. But i can bet its gonna take at least 1-2 years before the full merger takes place and we see that happening

Hmm, went to Harvey Norman the other day, when I ask abt the battery life of the Pro and RT the sales man said that its good,

I start to doubt when he said he use the Pro for 2 days, with use on and off,

and the RT didnt charge for 4-5 days

Sounds false to me, if the Gen 1 surface is that good, then the Gen 2 should be muuuch better lol, still didn't convince me to get Surface RT or Pro 1

Anyone able to support this claim or let me know abt their battery life and what you did with it ?
*
Surface Pro 1 consecutive run time is about 3~4 hours, very hard to go any higher than that. so.. for 2 days on and off would be depending a lot on how little he used it through out the 2 days.

the pro2 should be better because its using haswell proc, supposing increase battery life

the only problem i have with pro1 is the heat issue, it feels pretty uncomfortable for long usage
*
The are that with the latest firmware updates the Pro 2 can push 8 hours doing misc work already.

As for the Heat issue, don't think you can change more about that on a Core processor, since once you do more work, it'll always generate heat.

Be aware of the single mouse button issue/problem/feature before you pick up ANY touch mouse.

tq for the share bro..

any recommendation for a Bluetooth mouse?

actually I would something not so small and abit more ergonomic.

the Logitech v470 looks ok and feedback?
*
Mice all feel generally the same to me, you should just go get something which you feel good about holding in your hands for long hours.

Does anyone know how long can Surface Pro 1 battery life last if you play game on it? I know latest game that use all CPU and GPU to the max, Surface Pro will not last more than 2 hours? But how about older games such as Civ 4? Or even older games that run in 2D modes such as Civ 3 or MOO2?
*
That's highly variable and hard to determine, but.. considering that playing a game usually gets the fan going at full blast, it'd be pretty amazing if the battery could last more than 2 hours.

Some TVs are picky about the refresh rate and resolution, try going through all the available options. And of course, try it with another TV as well.

Hi, so from what I read, surface RT can only run certain programs while surface pro can support any program a regular windows PC supports.

But if my intention is just to use for work(Microsoft office, note taking etc) and casual web surfing, reading, social network like twitter, instagram, light photo editing b4 uploading online etc, would it be sufficient to just get the RT version or I need the Pro version?

Currently I'm on android Nexus 10 for the above purposes and when I wanna avoid switching on my full PC gaming rig.
*
I guess the question is.. how do you define LIGHT photo editing? Also, there's no official Instagram client on Windows 8.

If you need a PC but don't need the horse power, think of the new Intel Baytrail Tablets like
- Acer Iconia W4
- Asus T100

Well, if we're following last year, Surface Pro 2 will be out in about a month from Surface 2, Just take note that it'll probably be at the original Surface Pro prices.

Only problem is i already have Macbook Pro Retina Display, Macbook Air (office) and average Desktop PC (amd).

My ipad 2 screen is getting really bad and need replacing asap though. i would love to play full pc games like strategy & rpg & some football manager on the go.

Can we use power bank to charge SP?
*
Not unless your powerbank can pump out 12V!
