QUOTE(dillonyong @ Apr 24 2013, 10:29 AM)
That shows the triangle forming of tiki taka has a major weakness. Actually Everton already exposed that many times while playing against Swansea. The method is quick closing down up on their half and stop their triangle and make them panic.

"Quicker to close down their opponents, Bayern were also swifter in spreading the play, and unsurprisingly they had the first chance with Robben exchanging passes with Martinez before shooting straight at Victor Valdes in the second minute. " http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/...rca-229319.html?

Same method here. Maybe this is why BR has taken a different stance in telling the players to also try long passes. That means it is now Tiki A-lalalala long taka. LOL biggrin.gif
*
& that is why someone like Alonso is very crucial. & that is why its suicidal to have no plan B which BR currently demonstrate.

QUOTE(vreis @ Apr 24 2013, 10:30 AM)
The trashing is due somehow as Barca never really strengthen the defence even though the knew its their weakest point. In some matches, Barca got lucky due to wayward finishing by the opponents or last ditch defending, class saves from Valdes.
Seriously, its not that surprising considering Bayern strength...and they are German, who always win biggrin.gif
Pep goes on record that he wants Suarez but that time Goetze transfer was non existing. If ever they comes in for Suarez, chances are he will go which is understandable but let's hope he won't do a Masch whistling.gif
If Suarez goes, most likely Bayern will offload one of Robben/Ribery/Gomez. Swap + cash for Suarez with Gomez icon_idea.gif

I want Mueller biggrin.gif. Robben also good. tongue.gif

Somehow big Mario reminds me of a clumsy giant like heskey or Carroll. I prefer robben's quick thinking and quick feet.

he's a better version of Carroll...see how he hold up play & the clinical finishes???
also the way he exploited the Barca defence aerially???? very inteligent, Carroll nvr has that football mind. Also he's German, who seldom struggle even in foreign soil biggrin.gif
Striker for striker...make sense for me, but the down side is he's can only be CF unlike Suarez who runs all over the place

Yup. If he comes, then he will be CF and Dannyboy has to play behind him and run all over the places like what Luis is doing now. If Dannyboy is injured then Couts or Captain G has to do it. Not sure Borini can do that for us or not.

I seriously prefer Robben's quick feet and he is versatile in filing multiple roles. Can we have both just in case? tongue.gif

Damn... Bayern really thrashed Barca. Don't think I've ever seen Barca play so badly in the past 10 years. Bayern is truly becoming European Champions again.

in every system (even the mighty Barcelonafc employs) there will always be a weakness. which is why having only 1 rigid play can be restrictive. i know a lot have been debated & why we should or not emulate barcelona way of play.

Robben is too old & expensive for FSG taste period biggrin.gif
If can both also good but alas the reality...we're poor club wink.gif

Which is why even Swansea under Laudrup have Plan B & their tactical formation is more flexible which incorporated some long ball unlike BR who stubbornly sticks to 1 plan doh.gif

Couts - Suarez - Sturridge

------------Gerrard---------
----Alonso------------------
-------Lucas-------------

Enrique-Agger-Richards-Johnson ?????????

Alonso's long ball needs a target man. Suarez kinda loses more than 50% on air duel. Couts is a shorty. U got Dannyboy only, Mara. tongue.gif Long shot.

So that means like this:

McBite Luis - Ponytail AC - Dannyboy

Ok la. Alonso's 40m distribution can at least reach Dannyboy and Ponytail Carroll. And Luis can tap in from far left tongue.gif

That means we need to keep Carroll if Mr X is coming back! biggrin.gif

rclxms.gif rclxms.gif Finally someone speak like a human. There's been too many thoughtless people making irrational suggestions lately.

PFA refuse Suarez snub
Professional Footballers' Assocation chairman Clarke Carlisle has denied the union will remove Luis Suarez from the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Year award following his recent indiscretion.

Carlisle believes the FA's investigation into Suarez will not affect his chances of winning the gong.

"It's not possible. The Player of the Year award is voted on footballing merit alone," Carlisle said. "This isn't club man of the year or most well behaved player. It's voted for by the players on football ability.

"A couple of years ago Ched Evans was in the Team of the Year, he was subsequently sent to prison for rape and we made the decision to stand because the vote was taken well before he got into the trouble and it was on footballing ability alone.

"If we were to change that now because Luis Suárez has bitten someone then that would be a terrible message to send out. We've made that distinction, it's about footballing ability alone, it's voted for by his peers and that's going to remain."
