guys ... need your opinion ...

is it better to use cycle computer like eyecat for speed, distance, etc or better use apps in iphone/android for the same purpose?

Using GPS running with the application of all the time while cycling just gonna drain your battery juice very fast. I think cycling specific computer would be a good idea for this specific occasion.

it is better to use dedicated bike computers as it provides faster and more accurate readings...most android or iphone GPS based speedo have lower polling rates than say a garmin edge..so, it is just not as quick to respond especially when you change direction...

furthermore, having to mount your smart phone to your handlebar and stem is a very challenging task where you have to buy the specific phone mounts and things like that... and reputable mounts will easily cost as much as the basic wired bike computers...

smartphone on handlebar is an invitation to be mugged. another point is, bettersave up the phone battery. sucks to have flat battery mid way into the ride

Wondering is it safe to slam the stem? I read like eg in Scott bikes they actually wrote this?

QUOTE
Never use more than 40mm stack height of spacers between headset and stem.
Do not use more than 5mm stack height of spacer above the stem between the
topcap of the headset and the stem.
Do use minimum 5mm stack height of spacer below the stem between the cap of
the headset and the stem

I asked the lbs if its safe to slam the stem and they as racer as well did slam teh stem too.

Wondering if anyone slam the stem here? I know its going to take a while to see if mah body going to take tat low postion.

So slaming teh stem is more about getting as lower postion when you are riding on the brake hoods right?

I see, the lbs where i bought my new bike and while was doing bike fitting they suggest me to try this and see how it goes... Can comeback later to put back the spacer if things doesnt go well for my back. Cant wait to go to local crit circuit to test out.

Got myself new bikes. My previous lbs where i usually go to snub me off when i told them i wanna buy a new bike from them (which is a pina paris). The snub me off in the way that they are not interested in doing business with me. vmad.gif They tell me they get back to me with the details after they "work things" out when in actualy fact they can just call the distributor and ask for the stock availability. Till now which is a month plus since it happens they haven contacted me or whatsoever. Guess they dont need my business when i am going to spend that amount of money on Pina paris. Not to mention their shop is actually more like premium dealer. whistling.gif

Ask them to fk off whistling.gif and now i settle with another lbs who more than keen to do business with me at the expense of starting the relationship with lbs all over again. Sure they dont carry many stuff as the previous lbs but my freinds who went there were really happy with thier service biggrin.gif

u need to test it on long distance rides as well. that's when u know the fit works or u'd end up with brokeback.

i'm sure ur new lbs is worth it. have fun with ur new pina paris.

i think ur previous lbs tried to do u a favour. they didn't want to see u getting vinanned

Yeah, i plan to do long-ish ride (2 hours i guess) on crit circuit to see if things goes the way i wanted cos i plan to use that bike for Crit racing. The crit circuit is really empty during the weekdays so wanna try something as few interruption as possible.

I din get pina paris in the end. I got myself Scott foil team issue from the new lbs as they are having clearance for the next year model . Not to mention i got myself custom lightweight alloy wheel build to my spec from a well known builder in Sydney.

Tell me about that "vinanned" thing? I am so keen to buy from the previous lbs but what happen when i DO want to buy new bike really pissed me off with them and decided to move on to another lbs vmad.gif
