is Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu Heatsink Fan can be used with abit nf7-s v2.0 mainboard?
any issue?
how's it performance in term of cooling and noise?
any comparable other heatsinks to this zalman stuff?

I dunt think NF7-S v2.0 is compatible... check out the compatability chart ---- >> CNPS7000A/B compatible Socket 462 Motherboard list QUOTE Aoshi_88 Posted Today, 02:34 PM What about the Aero7+ That's what i'm using at the moment. 47C no load and 56-57C full load at max fan speed which is around 3600RPM. I think aero 7 and jet 7 is almost the same..... Aero came out first then only JET. |

QUOTE(zahri @ Jul 23 2006, 07:43 PM) I dunt think NF7-S v2.0 is compatible... yeah. i am also doubting the zalman heatsink coz there some big capacitors close to the socket.check out the compatability chart ---- >> CNPS7000A/B compatible Socket 462 Motherboard list i am considering to buy thermaltake volcano or polo which has standard retention clip. I prefer them over the big typhoon because i always move my casing from a place to another place. I am afraid if the giant cooler can crush my cpu core while move the casing. |

wah zahri. Is is true, no problem to move the casing frequently? just get the copper shim with the Tt Big Typhoon?
by the way what the idle and load temp with the big typhoon? can fit the Big Typhoon into normal ATX casing? I am afraid that the PSU will block the insertation of this giant cooler. |

I am afraid that the PSU will block the insertation of this giant cooler. i think there is a misunderstanding here . . What i meant was, if u are getting a big typhoon, and it doesnt come with a copper shim, then u can buy it separately I am not using Big Typhoon, I have an SI-97 and DangerDEn TDX Waterblock. i tried installing an SI-97 on a faulty proc before and it chipped the core a bit when i was installing the retention clip. So i used a copper shim on another proc (the real proc i was gonna used) and installed the si-97, although the heatsink moved a bit, the core was not crushed nor chipped. so i think it will work for the big typhoon GOOD LUCK Try asking around for TT BIG TYPHOON USERS. I am sure u can move ur casing around, maybe just dont bump it too much or shake it All the BEST |

hmm, thank for ur explanation. I've googled and seen the picture of copper shim.
that cool. I am sure it can protects the cpu core from being crushed or chipped. My question now, which shop sell this item? Is it still available? Maybe I should go to Overclockers Paradise. I want to ask their staffs whether they got this copper shim. How much it priced? This post has been edited by coolblade: Jul 27 2006, 12:05 PM |

can be the shim be too thick, then cpu core cant contact well with hsf? or the shim too thin, then no effect at all?

QUOTE(GKWong @ Jul 27 2006, 01:07 PM) can be the shim be too thick, then cpu core cant contact well with hsf? or the shim too thin, then no effect at all? the shim i got was perfectly nice not too thick not too thin . . . i guess there could only be 1 size. from my point of view, the shim is used to ensure that the heatsink is evenly placed on top of the core ( ensuring that the core touches the heatsink and not putting too much force on the core ) . Good Luck. |

anyone wants SLK900U/947U?
seriously, i don't like noisy fans - just an 80mm silent type connected to a fan controller is what i use on my SLKs. |
