Thanks for sharing, specs seemed pretty good for the AW 14 Can't say much for the AW 17 though... the hybrid HDD configuration seemed a bit too weak for the price (even if its the base model)
Alienware Mothership V10, AW 14,17 & 18 released!

Haa.. this was happened when i played BattleField 3 on my m11x that time. good news - after i watch the E3 video yesterday, the alienFX software is cooperating with games developers to work with their laptops lightnings. for example, lets say you have green lightnings to show that you have excellent health condition in game, then an attack occurs and it turns the lightnings to red colour, resembles code red case. when an attack is done, the lightning will turn back to green, yellow or red to show your health condition in games. if there are games that is strategic like, firstly, code blue conditions will generate blue lightnings, code red will generate red lightnings. Health = blue and when got attacked, it will turn red XD At first I didn't know about it and felt weird why after launch the game, my color turned blue (Default I always use green). It's cool and hope future will get more titles on it. |

Lol.. but sometime won't really notice the light lo while playing specially MX series' light area doesn't like the new one.but some says, its a gimmick. I also rarely will turn my sight onto the light zone when i focus on multiplayer gaming Now the mouse pad is fully FX light, i think ppl will notice the light easier? When it start blinking, lol ... |

QUOTE(lace @ Jun 12 2013, 01:33 AM) Yeah, we can change the hDD ourselves no problems there But as mentioned in the Alienware FB page, its best to wait for awhile when getting newly released notebooks since the specs and customizations are not that matured yet in Dell Malaysia. Last time when I bought my M14x R1, there was no laser nameplate for the many 1st buyers, which is downright ridiculous, who wouldn't want one when its included in the price |

I prefer the older design based on what I've seen so far... and I will miss the glowing grill that's for sure, it was one of the most iconic design of the now ex-AW lineups n the glowing grill is gone.. |

Thanks for sharing the review The Verge Alienware 14 Review http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/11/4417968/...nware-14-review I just died when this guy mention mech structure with full alu back. Not really sure whether potential buyers will be interested in thicker and bulkier designs, especially when everyone else is going slimmer and lighter Update: Looks like the new AW 14 still has only one fan, but at least there are a whole lot more vents at the bottom This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Jun 12 2013, 05:52 PM |

QUOTE(riku2replica @ Jun 12 2013, 05:50 PM) Yeah, those slot-load optical drives have been around since the R1 haha Many people complaint cannot eject CDs, and slot-load optical drives also make installing Jack Sparrow programs/games more challenging |
