QUOTE(0300078 @ May 19 2013, 07:03 PM) I would like to know does the local Dell site still sell Alienware M17x? i dont seem to see it on their site anymore? Looking forward to get a new one since my M11x R1 which was with me start to have some problem. I checked the site as well.. it seems that they removed m17x r4.. This coming june 11,12,13 ( E3 2013 )Alienware has new announcement.. possible R5.. so better wait for it.. This post has been edited by Kris187: May 19 2013, 07:07 PM |

QUOTE(miliardo83 @ Jun 17 2013, 11:55 AM) my own opinion.. why keep the battery inside? i think AW 17 is easier to remove for future upgrades.. |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 21 2013, 08:50 AM) Not sure dell has 8970m to offer. The thing with after market upgrades for gpu is that modded bios might be needed if the card is not supported natively. Current card is 7970M. i had the black screen issue last tuesday, then on wednesday the tech came to replace the card. Last night it crashed 2x and the fan is too loud ( like FULL Blast )I updated the driver to latest 13.11 beta 9. Im also getting fps drop in dota 2, which is not happening on my previous 7970M. Maybe will try repaste tonight or downgrade the driver to 13.4 or from dell driver. |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 21 2013, 11:45 AM) yeah that sounded bad. i suggest you take the advice from raymondtong94 and call up dell tech support for possibly another replacement. sorry i have no idea about that 7970m. I havent noticed the gpu temp. will check tonight and let you know. idle temp is around 58 which is normal i guess.by the way, what's the max temperature of your gpu (when the fans go at full speed)? But what is not is the way the fan go full blast. my previous card was so quiet. QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Nov 21 2013, 02:50 PM) I think 7970M's a better card. I had problems with my laptop which had 7970M, my replacement laptop had 680M in it well ill try to repaste, update / downgrade driver tonight and see what happens. then phone them to send another technician. Yah i like the 7970m too. good thing i extended the warranty.. |
