generally it is safe...
but u know la... (some) the pasar malam ppl is very rude
saw them act like gangster and scold ppl... somemore tourist

u will understand... if u watch few hong kong youtube viral
those less educated is giving hong kong bad reputation

disclaimer: i do not intend to give HK a bad reputation, generally i found it acceptable thumbup.gif
this is jus part of their culture and bring up

few tips:
1) order at cha chan teng, must act fast or told them to order after u review the menu
2) dont ask price or bargain for fun at pasar malam
3) dont cut queue
4) dont eat at mrt/bus/taxi

Read the safety and cultural diversity. I have a HK friend who later told me that a female university mate just arrived from China got raped after staying for a few days. Although I cannot verify my friend's story but that place itself was a big turn off to me as that was my 1st experience in HK.

At the end, I resorted to stay out late, go out early for the stay.
*
yup. this raping case is true...
not to be racist here, but if u r staying next to indian... u need to take extra care

ps: raping happen everywhere, when traveling learn some protection skill and invest on alarm system...
note: pepper spray is illegal in HK

Hello all, im drafting and planning my itinerary for 6d5n to HK. Disneyland is part of my itineary.

My question is, is it better to visit disneyland once i touch down HK or during the last day of the trip? And yes, i planning to stay a night in Disney hotel.

Second question, if i visit disney on my first day, and check out second day, i will have all my luggage with me. so is it still possible for me to visit NP360 to hv cable car ride, visit big buddha and do some shopping at citygate before i travel to hotel at TST?

Appreciate advise! Thank you!!
*
wat time is your touchdown?
next month onward... there is halloween theme, the opening hours for the theme park will b extended on certain day
pls adjust your visiting day according to this schedule
http://park.hongkongdisneyland.com/hkdl/en...ndarLandingPage
at nite... there r oso disney fireworks show... and halloween parade show...
pls dont miss it

fyi ocean park after 7pm oso hv halloween special...
u r required to purchase extended ticket for this event

and dont worry citigate hv locker services, jus park ur luggage there
i hv to warn u... limited locker and the cable car queue is quite long
other than np360, u might wan to visit wisdom path too blush.gif

but im thinking to spend another half day probably at Disney because planning to get 2d1n package from disney HK which inclusive 2 days ticket. how huh?? sigh...
*
wat time is your departure flight?
it is recommended u goto disney the day before u go back

i think i recommend you goto tst on first day...
arriving at 1pm is too late, u need to check out and going to disney will cost you time oso

2nd last day
morning check in disney hotel, put your luggage there
and enjoy disney
nite time... sleep there

last day
morning park ur luggage at citigate...
their locker hv 3sizes, and just rent more locker if u hv a lot of stuff brows.gif
and if u afraid limited locker... u either go very early or after lunch
i saw ppl stand there for 1hour waiting for locker, real whistling.gif

fyi citigate is overrated, if your departure time is around noon... u can skip it...
their items not really discounted and hv limited choice
u can get better deal here when it is on sales

I will be touch down HK at 12.40pm. after check out and collect luggage, ETA around 1.30pm i guess. So, im thinking to go disney first.

day 1
12.40pm - touch down
2pm - check in disney (2d1n package)
day 2:
breakfast - disneyland
morning - disneyland
12pm - check out
2pm - leave disney to NP360
park my luggage at citygate. then only go for cable car, big buddha, wisdom path, citygate.
evening: leave citygate and travel via MTR to TST
check in hotel at Dorsett Mongkok
dinner at Bon Bon cafe at Ivy street!

better? coz if leave disney to last day, i will hv more stuff to lug with me to citygate/disney. LOL. and my flight back KL is morning 10.50am. my last day cant do anything.
*
ur itinerary for 2d1n not worth of it...
sorry... this is totally waste of time...

disney opening hours is 10am to 8:30pm (normal hours)

on day1 i assume u can only enter disney around 3pm
if they dont have extended opening hours...
u will miss few show... eg lion king musical show, mickey mouse, snitch, etc, etc tongue.gif
their parade time is at 3pm
not to mention fireworks at 7:30pm
ps: ohh they oso have extreme park... and the queue is super long tongue.gif
do u think u can enjoy all in 5 hours timeframe?

again i assume your second days it totally wasted...
their opening hours is 10am and u r going to checkout 12pm doh.gif
i cant brain it why u still wan to take 2d1n packages?

if u insist to stamping only on your itinerary
i advise u only select the one tat interested u the most and skip the rest

thanks for your advice!

I have re-plan the itinerary.

day 1: touch down HK at 12.40pm
check in: novotel citygate hotel
rest of the day: big buddha, NP360, wisdom path, citygate outlet

day 2: breakfast at hotel. check out. leave luggage at novotel citygate hotel if permissible. if not, store at citygate outlet locker.
10am - to reach disney at this time.
leave disney after fireworks.
depart from disney to TST hotel.

better arrangement i guess.  wink.gif  wink.gif

Hi all,

Going to Hong Kong next Friday but have some questions:

1. Is there any water drinking water machine in hong kong? (sorta like R. O. water in Malaysia where we can fill up our empty bottle at small cost). If yes, where are they and if no, is there anyway to get cheap water without purchasing bottled water?

2. Is there universal information on bus travel in Hong Kong? I looked up on the internet and it is sorta confusing with different company and different fares etc. Is it better to travel around Hong Kong Island / Kowloon with bus or MTR?

Thanks and hope to get answered.

1. pipe water
2. both + tram

Sai Yeung Choi St = Mobile + Anime + Book + Gal Accessory + etc
Ladies St = aka Petaling Street, ppl there very rude... go there oni buy I Love HK t-shirt... skip the rest
Fa Yuen St = aka Shoe St, can buy sport shoe here

FYI u can get cheaper souvenir at The Peak... half the price compared to Ladies St
dont spent too much time there... waste time and $$$

No, loan your card to the poster above, ask him to re-activate your card FOC at any counter.
Then he can use your balance, buy less card and top up some for you.
Give back to you when comes back.
Win-win situation.  thumbup.gif
