I'm going HK end of the month. Thinking to do visit the Big Buddha on the first day since It is on Lantau Island near the airport. But one problem is our lugguage. Anyone knows where we can tumpang our lugguage?

And do we have to take a cable car up?

Try : http://www.179.hk/Cusac_Mei_Mei_Motel_EN.htm

Good location. The owners are somewhat concern about safety issues.

As a female solo traveler, I would avoid any hostel in Chung King Mansion.

ya chungking is famous...

as a fellow solo traveler
my advise to the rest is to have street smart mentality and strong survival mentality
u donno wat going to hit u...
never be too comfortable with stranger and always prepare to use any weapon to defend urself (pepper spray/alarm)
ohh running is the best choice

the second most danger situation for traveller is the thief/mugger/robber/snatch thief...
1) never bring too expensive gadget
2) break ur money and store it in few places
3) in event u need $$$, learn to use international money transfer

finally, travel insurance! (i didnt hv it, going to hv increase traveling cost sweat.gif ) but it is good to have

Lol, I think you mean 'infamous'. brows.gif

Also, afaik, you need a permit to carry pepper spray in HKG. Otherwise, it is illegal to do so.

And yes, travel insurance is a good thing to have. They are usually cheap, just get them per trip if you're not a frequent traveler.
*
haha u really know ur stuff...
yup just check HK is illegal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_spray

anyway there r tons of self defend tools out there

there is one travel agency at Mongkok... called Ding Ding

i bought from them da ticket for Disney, Ocean Park, NgongPing Crystal Cable Car, The Peak Tram, Madame Tussaud (Peak) and Sky Terrace 428 (Peak)

btw i dont recommend buy Peak combo ticket from them... tongue.gif
when u reach at Tram Station (Peak base) there r 3 different queue line
1) Pre-purchase Ticket, short queue... but still need to queue very long
2) Buy on the spot (Normal Ticket), super long queue
3) Buy on the spot (Combo Ticket), express way, no queue brows.gif

ps: combo ticket is Ticket for The Peak Tram, Madame Tussaud and Sky Terrace 428

Guys..if bring RM1000+ for shopping alone, would it be enough to buy stuffs at temple market/ladies market?

and another question, is it advisable to get a HK simcard for a 5 day stay? need to use the internet so want to know is the wifi there good or should I get a simpack internet plan at the airport when I arrive..

thanks in advance for any replies. smile.gif
*
hv u ever spent RM1000 in Petaling Street or Pasar Malam?
i bought souvenirs and t-shirt there for less than RM200

oh beware ladies street is a tourist trap... all the price is 100% more expensive
and another warning for u, if u dont intend to buy, u better dont ask the price
i saw 2 incidents... 1 japanese and 1 caucasian couple... both ask the price for fun
and all the seller there is really gangster... they screw those tourist kau2...
seriously hongkie is really rude sweat.gif

tips: buy souvenir at The Peak, price cheaper, more choice and friendly staff
