Scam Alert: Don't Get Duped By Root-Android.com

Just a PSA to anyone out there thinking of rooting their devices: don't trust any site that wants to charge you to use their software.

A prime example is "Root-Android.com." This site claims to be able to "root any device" using a single piece of software for the low, low price of $30. But does it actually work?

The problem is there is no single piece of software that can root any phone model without any input needed from the user. Rooting instructions are drastically different depending on your carrier and model, and you should be wary of any website that says it can root your device "with a single click." Especially if that site wants to charge you.

Root-Android.com preys on the inexperienced and uninformed. Knowing that the majority of new phone owners don't really know what "rooting" is, they've filled their website with erroneous information about what rooting can do for your phone. The site lists "screen shot" as one of their top ten apps that require root because "it's a sad fact that Android shops with no way to take a screenshot." In fact, that hasn't been true since Gingerbread.

It is called SDS - Sudden Death Syndrome. Due to a fault in the Samsung chip, the chip has a chance of dying and the motherboard needs replacement.

SDS is one of the potential reason but apps and Firmware corrupted also another potential culprit, if you lazy to bring to SC maybe you could try below:-

1. Wipe Cache, still cannot try no 2.
2. Factory reset+Wipe cache, still cannot try no 3.
3. Use PC Odin to flash ROM+Factory reset+Wipe cache, still cannot try no 4.
4. SC....

But remember to backup! thumbup.gif

If your phone is still behave like before i suggest you to follow the steps below :-
1) make sure your rom is the latest rom
2) backup all your things from int and ext memory
3) connect your phone to pc and on the my computer right click to format your ext and int memory
4) download the dummy file generator and run it again (for int memory)

observe your phone  biggrin.gif
if you bring it to SC they will reflash the rom for you and see whether your phone will still freeze. If the freeze still exist they will only replace mobo for you.

Freeze occur because of the emmc malfunction  hmm.gif thats why when your phone is freeze just let it be it will unfreeze and your phone will recognised it as bad block. so next time if your phone writing data to your int memory card it will skip the bad memory block and your phone will not freeze. (sorry for my bad english, I know my translation is bad but im just trying to help)

Hi just stopped by to report back that my S3 is free from freezes. it has been freeze free since i did the fix.
if anybody else having restart or freezing problems just try out the method mentioned by modskywalker few posts back.
dont waste time going to SC if its something you can fix it yourself.

This doesn't just apply for S3, it applies for all Android phones, so maybe need to put at the general Android forum and get a mod to pin it.
