I use the built in S Health app this morning to track my daily walking exercise. My daily target ( over morning and evening) is 16000-18000 steps ( 8-9 km/day). I forgot to dim the display and it was at 50% brightness ( display is always on) during the past 1 hour of walk, giving me a 15% battery drop in an hour. Will monitor the actual battery usage again later this evening. I always dim the display to conserve battery life but neglected it this morning.
Previously I used the paid app Pro step Counter for this

the developer options is hidden by default. to reveal it, go to about phone and tap one the "build number" 7 times. press back and it will be there.

I am often asked which display is nicer : S4 or HTC One. I'd say both phones display look great and is up to your own taste. I love both of it. But I find the HTC One display is brighter
See the pics below : I have the default wallpaper to show the comparison. The HTC one and S4 is placed side by side and both in maximum brightness. I find The S4 colours are closer to the actual wallpaper

Logically, I would also think the Exynos OcatCore would have a better battery life vs Snapdragon
The Octacore can revert back to the lower 1.2 Ghz processor for most light tasks and only use the 1.6 Ghz chip for more intensive operations. The Snapdragon will always operate at 1.9 Ghz. Practically we don't really know yet as the efficiency of the chip will also affect it

You don't know me yet . I am a gadget freak - I will always buy and test the latest stuffs. After bored, I will sell it off usually at a bigger loss than normal just to get rid of it. It is my hobby and quite an expensive one. I'd say. But is nothing compared to some of my buddies who play with cars, big bikes, golfing, clubbing, holiday trips overseas etc etc
