QUOTE(joytest @ Apr 12 2013, 12:36 PM) Blame the parents for not teaching the kids about the value of money. Spend !!! Spend !!! Spend !!! Daddy will pay !!!! Ha! Ha! In that sense I am good at not spending such money on my children. My budget rm300-500 only on phones . And all my 3 kids used it till they graduate from university. The youngest graduated last year. Why would a student need a smartphone? They can do those FB/tweeter/email stuffs on their notebooks. Student should prioritise time to study and not play with smartphones. Call me old fashion. And my children never ask such stuffs from me. I will not hesitate to buy a rm5k MacBook air for them as is a more worthy investmentThis post has been edited by benny888: Apr 12 2013, 02:04 PM |

QUOTE(SnailWithFingers @ Apr 12 2013, 02:14 PM) When i want to buy a phone i asked my dad, he gave me rm2.5k cash after few days I asked I'd say you have a rich dad and is willing to "spoil" you. I never believe in giving out easy money even I have it . I have trained them to work hard and earn for what they want in life. And best of all, all my kids never ask me for such stuffs except books ( I spend a huge sum of money on these) . They take willingly whatever is given to them. They don't ask for branded goods/stuffs eitherand don't say my parents are bad. |

QUOTE(Hico @ Apr 12 2013, 02:29 PM) my parents never give me money to buy hp.. my first phone was from my own pocket money earning from working part time while studying.. nowadays i always see the primary students holding sony, samsung..some even hold the iphone 4s before the 5 announced.. they are really lucky Like this, you will value your stuffs more. You will think twice, thrice before changing/upgradingThose who can easily get money from their parents need not worry about such stuffs. They see something newer /better they will want to change as money is not an issue. When they come out to work, they will realize life is not so easy ( every sen count) unless they are benefactors from their parents business |

Having tested the HTC One for just 2 days , I look forward to this S4 to compare. Initially I thought of waiting 2-3 months after launch but probably will change my mind and grab one once available

QUOTE(amywmy @ Apr 18 2013, 11:13 AM) Got S3 last year with maxis 3gb contract but got robbed so currently using Ace. Waiting forever to switch to this phone. Go read the Xperia Z thread and you will find several funny, amusing stories about MAXIS LTE. Basically most of these support staffs are blur about LTE on Maxis and often give conflicting stories among themselves. This Maxis must need to educate themBecause Digi starting pre-order this sat, I called Maxis this morning. The person I spoke to knew nothing (launch or pre order) on s4, but I asked that if I got a LTE supported phone, how about my current plan? No need to upgrade? She said no need, just as long you in coverage area u just set your settings to LTE can already. Can anyone confirm this? Sorry if I posted this on the wrong thread. Any LTE users now? Because I'm still on the fence whether to get the S4 Lte or the non lte supported one. Battery consumption is very important for me. Thanks My experience calling Maxis about LTE activation on my Xperia Z. First she told me LTE only available for iphone and Maxis sales phones only. And Xperia Z is not inside Maxis list. Than I said my phone detected LTE in Damansara area and shows very high download speeds ( exceeding 30000kbps) - how is that possible than ? She put me on hold and came back and at least apologised , saying since my phone can detect LTE automatically , no need process to go through activation as long as I am using one of those new sim cards ( mine was 6 months old) In summary : As long as you are using the newer maxis sim card, LTE will be auto detected. Change your simcard if your LTE phones fail to detect All LTE enabled phones ( on 1800, 2600 Mhz bands) can be supported There is no extra charge using LTE ; your present data plan can still be used "Screw" those Maxis support staff at 123 if they tell you otherwise as obviously they are ignorant |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Apr 18 2013, 08:57 PM) Actually you still use the same quota whether you're on LTE or 3G. I think what he meant was when you can download data faster, you tend to download more stuffs n thus increase your data usageIf you download 1GB of file on LTE..you still download 1GB of the same file on 3G. Only different is you download much faster when on LTE. |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Apr 19 2013, 07:53 AM) 9/10 a great phone. But it has its annoyances especially on older apps the menu button appears at center bottom as a 3dot icon making the display smaller to only 4.5 inch. These could be hidden n you have full display in the Butterfly but not this HTC1. These could deter potential buyers. Hopefully a firmware update will fix this. Those having Butterfly i see no compelling reason to upgrade to it unless he wants a newer n fresher design This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 19 2013, 08:04 AM |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Apr 20 2013, 10:45 AM) Haihz.. U read my mind exactly. So sad when i saw S4 is cheaper then the phone i wanted which was the HTC One. Samsung can even afford to sell it another rm100 cheaper if they so wish . HTC would need every ringgit extra to increase their profitabilitySome more digi sent invitation coupon to me that allows me to get S4 from as low as RM999 with it. That is RM200 discount wei... where is the HTC One coupon!! |
