ooo...in LYP got Mac store...then,would suggest my friend to send her notebook there... cool2.gif
they do repairing services or not? hmm.gif
ooo...thank you... thumbup.gif

Yea you can send to Low Yat Macstudio for servicing, but you are taking additional risk of having the notebook pass through another set of hands. While they do take a lot of care on it, but still, just additional risk.

I did send my there before, they wrap it up nicely but I guess some minor scratches are unavoidable.

I just saw this on Dell's website, they claim their XPS M1330 to be the world's thinnest 13.3 inch notebook. I was sceptical about it, so I searched for it's specs and found out that IT IS thinner than the Macbook, in a way sweat.gif cause this is the XPS's spec:-

QUOTE
Weight: Starting at 1.79 kg6
Width: 31.8cm
Height: 2.21cm - 3.38cm
Depth: 23.8cm

Macbooks are 2.75cm thick. So in a way it is thinner than the Macbook, on one end that is! Haha.. But if averaged out, 2.21+3.38/2 = 2.795cm. It's thicker than the Macbook nod.gif

Can the macbook be turned on 24 hours a day ? Im asking this because i read some of u talking bout the heat this notebook produces which can reach 80 degree celcius. Do normal notebooks produce the same amount of heat ?

And one more thing, can i download torrents on mac OS ? I know i can install windows using parellel or the other software, forgot the name, but what about on mac os itself ?

Im planning to get a macbook in the future

Hi, you can do ALL that you mentioned, without worrying about the heat issue, though it would be advisable to put it on a notebook cooler.

As a matter of fact, I have my Macbook on 24 hours, downloading torrents all day long, listening to radio & iTunes, MSN, iChat, watching movies, browsing internet etc.

As for torrents, I'm using Transmission. Do a search, you'll find many other torrent softwares for Mac OSX.

HELP PLEASE.

Added on July 29, 2007, 6:01 pmHELP PLEASE.. MY MBP CANT RUN MY 500GB EXTERNAL HDD WITH MAC OS.
WINDOWS BOOTCAMP RUN THE HARDDISC WELL INSTEAD.
IM ANNOYED.. ANYONE GOT ANYSOLUTION? =( HELP~!!!
*
Dont really understand your problem, at first it sounded like you have problems booting OSX from your external HDD but you were able to boot Windows via Boot Camp, but that doesnt make sense.

Then it sounded like OSX didnt recognize your external HDD, but Windows via Boot Camp did. So the question goes back to what format did you format your external HDD in? And your answer could well be here:-

hey guys, im planning to get a MBP, well, i just want to know whether its worth getting it or not?
*
Haha.. Everything is worth its price, the question should be whether you need it or not, and what is your intended use for it. But then again, if you already planned to get it, why question it? Hehe..

There is a better way to keep your notebook cool, build a cooler yourself! The housing is the tricky part, of what material you want to use, the fans are the interesting part, all the notebook coolers in the market are USB powered, low voltage fans, so what I did was bought those 12V fans and power it from a adapter. Those fans cost less than RM10 each, as well as the adapter, but you get very much cooling power!

Well if you like doing things yourself, you will love it, it's not necessary cheaper, depending on what material you want to use, but these fans are really good.

Can you please take a picture of it? I'm still not sure how it should look like. Never made anything before myself but there's always a first time. =)
*
Sorry I've been busy, will try to post some pics later. What I did was actually modify a Coolermaster with high power fans. There are others who tried other methods, there are a lot of recommendations here:-

Becareful though with MBs, quite a number of notebook coolers out there has a design that blocks the IR receiver port on the MB.

Do u think better wait till Oct only buy MACBOOK for newer OS?
Normally Apple Store will not give discount even i pay cash and not Credit Card?  unsure.gif
*
Even if you kneel down and beg them till the cows come home they wont give you discount sweat.gif

QUOTE(ifer @ Aug 19 2007, 11:08 AM)
the question is... is leopard worth the wait?
seeing that it's like +/- 3 months wait
*
It is definitely worth the wait, not so much of what it can do, but the agony of buying it now and few months later having to get leopard separately and start over.

Of course if getting the Macbook now can earn you loads of other stuff (cash, girls, business, respect.. oh did i mention girls?) just during these few months, then by all means get it.
