Yeah, I didn't said that all Corsair RAMs are not compatible. I just said to stay away from Corsair VALUE Rams... Since there are numerous bad reports of Corsair Value Rams, I'd say it is better to be safe than sorry smile.gif Not all stores offer exchange on Rams just because they won't work with your MacBook.

But I am using Corsair Value RAM.

Got another question here, do any of u use your Macbook on the power line all the time? And do you remove the battery while doing so? Is it necessary to remove the battery?

Actually I'm still having problem with my Windows on Boot Camp. I'm not sure if it's normal, someone please let me knw if you have the same problem or solution.

1. Time settings, my Windows and Mac OSX time settings is always 8 hours apart, whichever I change, the other goes 8 hours different;

2. Tapping on the trackpad does not generate a mouseclick, as well as right click doesnt work in Windows.

FYI I'm already updated to the latest Boot Camp and also updated the drivers.

Whichever I set to Malaysian time zone, which is what it is supposed to be, the other move to the time zone which is 8 hours apart.

Sorry got another question here, about iPhoto and iTunes:-

Whenever I import something into iPhoto or iTunes, it goes into the library, I also have albums for the photos or mp3s. When I delete a mp3 or photo from the albums, the original file still remains in the Library, but it does not exist in any albums. How to I detect and delete these files? Cause they are a waste of space since I dont want them anymore.

In simple terms, how to find files that exist only in Library of iPhoto or iTunes and not in any albums?

Sorry got another question here. Recently I've been trying to maintain my Wifi connection as much as possible (when I sleep) but everytime I wake up, seems like the connection is broken. No I did not put the notebook to sleep because its on adapter. I only left the display to sleep. Any ideas whats wrong?

And another thing, using "Interference Robustness" means what?

Its better to leave the battery in the notebook even if on cable, unused battery will lose power eventually and u will have to charge it again, there u lose a cycle or 2. If u do remove the batteries, i remember somewhere saying its best to store batteries at 40% charge only.

I think I found the answer, that you do not have to worry about the notebook charging your battery all the time while on cable, look into your System Profiler under Power, you will notice that with the cable connected, it says there not charging. So you really dont need to remove your batteries.

what i've encountered problems since using macbook are like what civic98 rises one the issues here: Trackpad seems doesn't work in windows (double click on trackpad seems useless).did anyone experience this problem as well?does anyone know how to resolve this?

does anybody know where to purchase keyboard sticker in m'sia since mine is europe keyboard type which is pretty unsual from US type?i have to rearrange according to US.the keyboard protector sold here doesn't fit to europe type.

one more thing...it seems to be microsoft office can't be installed in windows thru bootcamp since i've tried to install couple of times from different CDs.does anyone faces this problem?

Refer to this:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...754395&tstart=0

And for right click, get applemouse and create shortcut in your start up folder in Windows, Ctrl+click to right thereafter:

http://www.geocities.com/pronto4u/applemouse.html

As for others sorry I dunno sweat.gif I have no problems with Office.. I think the best thing to do is to reinstall Windows with Boot Camp, thats what I plan to do, make sure u get the latest Boot Camp and burn the driver CD.

Just wanna know the real life experience of users, benchmarks always show results they are supposed to show..

Well nothing much I can do, stuck with the Macbook, wanna upgrade the RAM to 2GB soon and thats about all I can do, as with any other previous Macbook owners.

Looking forward to a Macbook Pro or Mac Pro... Which one you guys reckon?

Very likely you have renamed your Home folder. It's your shortname, once you rename it, OSX will create an empty Home folder. Nothing is lost though, just rename it back to the original shortname, you can find them in the Users folder.

yea...i think that is it..lol...how do i rename it and have the files to stay with it ?!

Go to your Users folder, find the folder with the name you renamed your original "House" folder into, and rename it into the original shortname. Restart and it should be back to normal.

FYI you cannot change your shortname, ever...

ed0gawa,
Is ur MB connection unstable only when your PC is connected to the network?  Could it be a conflict or some configuration preference on your client?

Er, be glad ur getting slow transfer than NO transfer at all `k?  tongue.gif

xandman,
Theoretically, our MB/MBP should be d/c from the network when it goes to bed, but i believe it should also be reconnected automatically when it wakes up.... didn't think it was the fault of my MBP so didn't raise the issue here but will test it a few more times and also check out lokgotz' suggestion and keep all informed when I'm done.

Too bad i'm unable to test it as much on the office network - am almost never away from my 'workstation' for more than 30mins! but at home it's different  nod.gif

Let's just keep each other updated yah?

This should be useful for auto reconnect wifi:-
