Dont use software update to download, just check what is there to update and go to Apple/Support/Downloads and download from there, even better if u use a download manager. This was u have no worries about download being interrupted.

iTunes has the same stupid problem, downloads interrupted has to start over *sigh

Battery update guys:-

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/batteryupdate12.html

It takes a while to restart after that, so dont be alarmed.

Any experts care to explain what this battery update does specifically?

Furry, why all the trouble, like Vandetta said, just drag it into your sidebar, basically you can drag any folder into the sidebar, and for your info, you can drag any folder into the Dock as well for easy access but it has be be at the Dock column where the Thrash bin is.

So basically Santa Rosa IS the Intel 965 Chipset, so it has the same problem as this:

The driver for the better graphics processing is not out yet...

Is that it?

Inferno, congrats on your purchase! What you mentioned are just the hardware part, there's so much more sofware "specials" in it!

Funny about your MBP screen & body alignment. Since its just a day or two old, why dont you try your luck with the vendor??

Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator.

Error: -17092

Hi, I just bought a MBP recently. It has been a while since i last use mac(Ibook, 4 years ago) so can anyone help me out with this?

I successfully converted all my emails to entourage. The first two days it was working fine. Then after that, a week now actually, i can NOT send any mail out but i can still receive. I doubt its my setting as my incoming and outgoing stmp is the same.

Can anyone help me out on this? pls. thankkss

Sometimes SSL (Secure Socket Layer) blocks outgoing emails. Try disabling it in your account settings. My Gmail works fine with SSL, while my Streamyx email requires me to disable SSL.

One piece of advice though, from my experience, Entourage is very slow. Apple's Mail is works much better.

if u are upgrading the rams urself, it'll be about rm115 for 1gb(value rams).....so about rm230 for 2gbs....

u can also upgrade your hdd......i think that's about it.....

Yea, good idea to upgrade your HDD when it's new. Wont need to go through the trouble of reinstalling everything and transferring your files over later.

You will definitely need a proper mouse pad. I had the same problem until I got the mouse pad.

I'd still prefer PC mouse over the Mighty Mouse.

Until you get used to it, Mighty Mouse is really "mighty" !! The accuracy, buttons, the very very useful scroll wheel, and not forgetting the design rclxms.gif

Check your System Preferences under "Dashboard & Expose". You can also reassign your shortcuts there.

i think you left out the price  shakehead.gif

higher price dun always mean better quality
like phone calls icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

Naa... Not really left out, it was never a discussion about the price. Was just usability.

Anyway RM189(wired) for the quality and design, it's worth it. Though I cant say the same for the wireless model, RM289 for a mouse is a little to much. Hope i got the prices right hmm.gif Not really sure cause I got my wired Mighty Mouse free.

Is there an alternative to Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter cause the price is rather steep for me. RM 200 bucks for a cable is a bit...pricey la

Where did you asked RM200? It's RM109 only. Thats the price in Ikano & The Curve, the last time I went that is hmm.gif

Updated iTunes and Quicktime available for download:-

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/

QuickTime 7.2 addresses critical security issues and delivers:
- Support for full screen viewing in QuickTime Player
- Updates to the H.264 codec
- Numerous bug fixes

Quicktime supposingly supports full screen playback. Not tried it yet, but hope it does and also overrides screensaver during playback.

Is there a MacAsia in LYP?

AFAIK the only surviving MacAsia store is in 1Utama...
*
Yea you are right, shouldn't it be MacStudio? The only person I look for there is Walter, very helpful guy, all the others there are pretty us*less. One of them wanted to charge me RM100 just to help me swap my hard drive out from my Macbook. I was just asking anyway.
