Thanks for the suggestion, @raymondtong94 thumbup.gif  I will definitely consider the Y410p; not only for the Haswell i7 CPU, but also the 8GB RAM + swappable tray, might put in a SSD soon..  hmm.gif
*
you are welcome. biggrin.gif
for the swappable tray, you might even throw in an extra GPU for extra gaming performance. other than extra GPU and expanded storage, it comes with 2 years warranty as standard configuration.

i downloaded the manual from dell's site. its actually referring to the current memory that comes with the laptop, with maximum 4GB of RAM.
it is from table 9 under specifications column, right?

Hi Everyone,

1. Preferred Brand : Lenovo
2. Budget : around RM2000
3. Usage: Moderate-gaming, Photo-editing, Internet Streaming etc
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14" above

Which one is good between this two or is there better ones?
Lenovo Ideapad Z480 and Lenovo IdeaPad Z400  icon_question.gif

Thank you sifus  notworthy.gif
*
actually both are pretty same, just one with removable 6-cell battery (Z480) and one with unremovable 4-cell battery (Z400).
Z400 is higher performance but due to its thin form factor, it will generate more heat than Z480, which maybe around 6mm thicker.

but still, go for Z400. icon_rolleyes.gif

Raymond,
The Z500 is in chocolate but some resellers are offering in white. Are the whites old stocks?

Are there any other differences? Dont want to be conned as I am not savvy on the specs.

What are the current free gifts from Lenovo?

When was the Z500 launched in Malaysia? Any new models from Lenovo in near future?
*
the new Z500 with GT740M is launched pretty long time ago, around mid of May. its easy to differentiate between old or new. the new nvidia sticker shouldnt be showing any information or model of the graphics card like the GT6xx series do.

user posted image
example of new nvidia sticker.

EDIT - i saw several shops in lowyat is selling the Z500 with white colour.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Wow, one month ago is considered "pretty long time ago" in computer life-span.

Believe the white ones are US or overseas models since local Lenovo is in chocolate.
*
some sellers in LYN do sell white colours 1, but comes with lenovo local warranty.

between g400s and g480,which 1 better??and what the addition to z400 tht makes its price slight higher than other 2??can i get with free dos??didnt want genuine windows coz want cut price but same model
*
Z400 has the size of an ultrabook, make it lighter and easy to carry around while have white backlit keyboard. the G400S is a bit bulkier than the Z400 but it has full size keyboard without backlit keyboard. plus, if you want to get freeDOS, i dont think thats possible for new G400S because most laptops nowadays come with OS pre-installed, which is included in the budget. plus, if you wanted to get 'pasar malam' version, you have to choose a good cracker, which is not easy.

Looking for a 14" laptop that can play League of Legends on highest settings with no problem. Not a really graphic demanding game hope to see advice from people who have played it so can gauge actual graphic card needed.

My budget is RM1500 and below cheaper is better of course.

Brand preference any brand which is reliable and has good after sales services.

Lenovo G480, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT635M@RM1699, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS

HP Pavilion G4-2108AX, A6-4400M + AMD HD7670M@RM1699, 2GB, 500GB

this is the only best choice, due to quite limited budget. price is RSP and negotiable. sweat.gif

Hi all wife here. I plan to buy a light ultra book for my lecture this month. Just wondering is 13 inch Mac book air better or the new Sony vaio pro 13. Wonder both can come to Malaysia by this month
*
if you are a windows user, stick to sony will be better. porting from windows to mac (or vice versa) is not easy and it takes time to learn for tech blind peoples (sorry if sounds harsh).

but overally, i will go for sony vaio pro 13, as it is very light compared to MBA and the design is sleeker.

Hi Raymond thanks for your reply

Do you have something lighter? It is a little bit too high tech for me I think. Since It is only for office work (I have a PC in my house)

Thank you
*
the core i3 isnt too high tech nor near to stone age. but if you want something lighter, these are nearest to your budget :
