Checked dell inspiron 15r seems not bad. Erm is there any 14 or smaller high end laptop that can play  maybe LOL AND dota 2 in high setting?  Or maybe high end ultrabook that can play diablo 3 smoothly?
*
ultrabooks are not recommended for long hours gaming. 2-4 hours gaming are long enough for ultrabooks (my 2 cent). more than that, im worried that it might damage the hardware after a year or so. however, if you like to, i can still put come choices.

Acer [Ultrabook] M5-481PTG-53316G52, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT640M + 20GB mSATA + 500GB HDD@RM2999, 10-point touch, W8
ASUS [Ultrabook]S46CM-WX023V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M + 24GB mSATA + 500GB HDD@RM2399[2kg], 4GB, W7HP

Full HD + High 3D = Heavy and no touch.
Most important, laptop for heavy 3D games weight heavy too.

But no Full HD (1080p) screen for him

i can still watch full hd videos with my lousy 1280x800 screen. sweat.gif

1080p screen isnt necessary as long you have 1366x768 unless you are an enthusiast.

Hey Laptop Pros, last time i asked what laptop to buy and stuff. I want to get mine tomorrow but i wana know where to get the y500 with ssd upgrade without voiding the warranty. i went to digital mall last week and they said some bullshit about voiding warranty which u guys said was just that seller only , just wana make sure same thing wont happen at lowyat? dont wana drive all the way to kl just to waste time. Sorry for asking alot D:
*
it was definitely the seller trying to make you worry. SSD warranty and laptop warranty walk their own way. unless upon installing the SSD by inexperienced technician (or yourself) and made damages to the laptop, then the warranty will only be voided.

Hi everyone, I wanted to get a laptop, but so far I've tried testing around a few, and I realised that the most important feature i'd want would be a matte/anti-glare screen, but most of the laptops in the market are glossy screen ones.

Does anyone know what are the cheapest laptops with matte screens? Other than the Dell Vostro series?

Thanks a lot!

1. Preferred Brand - Any
2. Budget - Below 2k if possible
3. Usage - 80% surf net, 20% DOTA type games
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15.6"
*
other than business type laptops, consumer line laptops are mostly glossy screen. sweat.gif unless you can find a matte screen layer for such laptop. anyhow, some suggestions :

Lenovo Ideapad G580, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1699, 2GB, 500GB, freeDOS, 1 yr warranty
Dell Inspiron 15, i5-3337U + AMD HD7670M@RM1849[2.25kg], Win8SL, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)

1. Preferred Brand : As long as not DELL
2. Budget : 2K, 2.5K max but prefer to upgrade the RAM and extend warranty so around 2k is nice.
3. Usage : Basically for my job, more into using Microsoft Office.Words,Excel,Power Point and etc. Moderate gaming like Dota2, FM13.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14 inch,

If I want to extend warranty and upgrade the RAM usually how much it will take?
*
Lenovo
Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate

this hot cake model will suit you. biggrin.gif
extend warranty and upgrade RAM usually need around RM300, since this laptop currently comes with 2 years warranty.

surface pro? i believe they are launching the RT first.

... scared of getting the RT and end up like the 1st generation of netbooks which now rotting in my drawer. let me know if u know any place that have surface pro in stocks.. thx for the recommendations. will look at those models.
*
Surface RT will be released this thursday if im not wrong. for Pro, not sure about it.

you shouldnt worry as windows RT and windows 8 are just the same. windows RT is specially designed to run on ARM devices, while windows 8 is designed to run on x86 x64 processors. also be noted that surface rt and pro is not a netbook, it is a hybrid tablet/laptop. and yes, RT may be more sucker compared to windows 8.

sorry for my mistake. here you go for the differences between Windows RT and Windows 8

So, ASUS K46CM dropped till RM1699?

be noted that that is a pentium dual core ULV processor. so thats why it is cheaper than the core i version.

I just saw the z400 and z500 from shop, spec is good but unfortunately just 4 cell battery, yet is unremovable battery

top up get z580 better right ?? although spec slightly weaker
*
depends on user. if you want the removable battery feature, go for Z580. Z400/Z500 battery is removable when the back cover is disassembled.

around 80% of the shops malaysia wide provide RAM upgrading. if you buy it at lowyat, then you have the more chance to do so. no matter how hard is the laptop's disassembly, they will still do it because they want to earn money.
