QUOTE(omnimech @ Apr 24 2013, 01:39 PM) My mom is quite accustomed to technology. If you've been driving turbocharged cars you would complain about power/acceleration/torque of this car. The M6 engine and transmission (6speed) has been tuned for fuel efficiency. You'd have to drag gears to feel the torque on this car (even on the 2.5).Basically, as long as I can get the Navi to work for her, it should be fine. She doesnt need to play with the rest of the buttons. Im tinking about the mazda 6 cause its large enuf for my mom to ferry her church friends around and its zippy enuf, so that I may potentially keep the beemer at home and take the mazda for a spin. Feedback on power ? acceleration ? |

QUOTE(omnimech @ Apr 24 2013, 03:40 PM) Ive have my fair share of driving experiences. 1. You'd have to bring it up beyond 3k RPM. Don't expect instant response either (unless your floor it - there is a kickdown switch)I am still a fan of na, but i opted for the 320i more for the looks rather than the speed. I tink my question should be ... when I need to overtake, slamming the accelerator will result in 1. A quick burst from the 2.5 2. A sluggish downshift and acceleration Opinions ? My very short test drive, couldnt tell me much. so your experiences will be greatly appreciated. 2. You're better off downshifting with the paddles (2.5) or the shiftronic (2.0) Since the M6 is for your mom, it'd be perfect for her let it be 2.0 or 2.5. |

QUOTE(blu3 @ Apr 24 2013, 04:06 PM) Im consider lucky to own this car, no problem. I haven install it, it is call RACE CHIP, 1st stage can boost up to 340nm for 320i, I mean to smoke ori GTI, if you got 2nd stage GTI, I smell your smoke lol... Racechip only have diesel solutions for Mazda. They even have one for the M6 SkyActiv-D 2.2 already. Most say piggyback tuning have no issues with warranty. But is it guaranteed it wont leave any traces in the ECU (checked through OBD-II)? |

QUOTE(Honda70 @ Apr 24 2013, 10:27 PM) Wonder... Why nobody interested of getting this model? IMHO, it looks great. The design of the car. It's as appealing as the Audi RS4 RS6 Avant. Seems like, nobody here mention about it. I like the design, but when i ask the SA about the order. They told me nobody ordering it.... Is anyone here make an order for this model? Wagons have never been common in Malaysia. You could see a few Volvo V-series around, Mercedes E-Class estate and BMW 5 series estate. Usually driven by expat because it's more common in European market. And these are usually grey imported cars as the local german marques don't bring estate/wagon models officially. It all run down to whether you like the design or not and if you need the cargo space. The cargo space is bigger (more volume) vs the sedan. However, the sedan has a longer wheelbase than the wagon. And of course, the price. It's close to RM196k. Some might reconsider their options. So, there is no reason to holdback your purchase! |

QUOTE(rcracer @ Apr 25 2013, 08:31 AM) wagons not popular in malaysia but be informed the wagon has less room for the rear passengers because the car is actually SHORTER than the sedan. In the case of the M6 Wagon, only the boot/trunk space is shorter. Shorter but larger in volume vs the sedan. Having sat in the wagon, I don't think the leg room for passenger is compromised. The wagon is for europe and the sedan for america. Coincidentally the wagon actually handles better than the sedan because of shorter wheelbase and diff suspension setup. And lastly pricing, at 196k the pijot 508 GT is a definite winner for me, esp the diesel engine |

QUOTE(rcracer @ Apr 25 2013, 04:37 PM) no the car is physically shorter check mazda malaysia specs page, the sedan is 4865mm the wagon is 4800mm only I know for a fact that the sedan has a longer wheelbase than the wagon. I'm saying passenger legroom hasn't been compromised as much. rcracerHave you been in a M6 wagon? The shorter legroom isn't noticeable IMHO.Here are the two comparisons, look at the where the door meets the C pillar, notice how the wagon is almost vertical like they have squeezed the car Warning huge image. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wagon » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yes, the car is shorter, which is why I specifically said that the boot space is shorter than the sedan. The compromise is not solely in the passenger legroom but the boot space also. They compensate space with a larger volume in the wagon. A positive for wagon rear passenger would be the taller headroom vs the sedan. 30mm higher. Better for tall passengers.
The sedan has a lower roofline for that sporty look. |
