You're on the right track. Tick the SDK Tools and SDK Platform Tools and adb.exe / fastboot.exe (along with other android sdk tools) will be downloaded. You can then browse to the sdk/tools (or platform tools) folder and hold shift > right click > open command window here > use the adb/fastboot and perform unlocking/etc

Have you tried the guide in the first page? See below:

More info: Professional Way to Unlock bootloader & Root

Nevertheless, after ticking "Platform Tools" and "Tools" in the SDK Manager, the sdk folder still does not have them? Usually it'll be located at C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools (or whichever directory that you have installed / extracted it)

e.g. [attachmentid=3380553]

ok, i found that file. so, now i have to install package with my SDK manager before proceed to those step you show ?

If you've found the files, most likely you're good to go. Try connecting your device via USB (with USB Debugging enabled) > launching command prompt > type adb devices; chances are the command will not be recognized (unless you launch command prompt from within the same folder which adb.exe locates). Add it to system environment to solve this problem (see my post again on PART 2: Step 4

Have you tried to re-launch Command Prompt after setting the Environment Variables?

yup... i tried it few times already.  sad.gif

Hmm.. can you go to your folder which have the adb.exe and fastboot.exe, hold-down Shift key and right click > Open command window here (do not right click on any files). After that try typing adb help and see if it works.

If yes, can you paste your Environment Variables > System Variables > PATH here?

it works !!! but another question, after i paste the code in the path, then how does the adb help and fastboot help looks like ?
after i past it, it still come out a lot of thing behind. is that means success ?

adb help Will show you a list of commands along with the parameters. So yours is working fine. As for the systems variable path , it's just to set is so system knows where to look for when you are accessing the executables (adb.exe and fastboot.exe) from outside the directory, this way you wouldn't have to navigate to the folder and launch command prompt from there.

Since your adb is now working, next is to make sure that drivers are set up correctly (try typing adb devices with your nexus 4 connected in debugging mode). If it works, it should show you a device with some serial / key and you can proceed with unlocking bootloader. Detailed guide available in first page.

Hope it helps smile.gif

when the android pop out, i press volume up + power, but i can see a loading bar below at the time. then the phone went off, the factory reset and reboot option not even show up. then now when i switch on the phone. the phone was reset like new. is this means fail ?

i retry the step and i got this. It says failed, already unlocked.

Seems to me that you've successfully unlocked your bootloader (as everything was wiped off and reset like a new device); adding the failure to perform "oem unlock" as it's already unlocked.

Could you try to boot into bootloader mode and check the bottom-left message? There should be a sentence / word indicating something like:

BOOTLOADER: UNLOCKED.

If it says so, it's unlocked already. Alternatively, you can power off your device and turn it on. When the logo "Google" pops up, see if there's a grey-lock (which are open) at the bottom of the screen. If yes, your device have already been unlocked.

Hey everyone! I have revamped the "FAQs" and "N4 Unleashed" section so that information are much more organized, allowing newcomers to look for information easily.

Do let me know if you have any suggestions! notworthy.gif

If any of you guys are interested with XtremeGuard Screen Protector, order it directly from XtremeGuard as they're having 83% discount right now when you purchase more than 3 units (share with other members if required). It'll cost roughly <RM10 per piece smile.gif

WTA, is that normally all themes can be support by any custom ROM ?

what is nandroid backup for ?do i need it since i already install CWM ?
*
CWM has that feature. Basically it's just a full-backup feature which people usually use before flashing another ROM / backing up their stock roms / just to have a "fall-back" in-case of unfortunate events.

Haha. Still using it right now or took it off?

Most review seems to highlight a few issues with it (rubbery and orange peeling effect). I guess that's the nature of wet application screen protectors rclxub.gif

Basically that backup feature in CWM is a Nandroid Backup. Nandroid Backup is just a term used in early days up till now laugh.gif

You're most welcomed smile.gif

Been having it on my phone for few days already and tbh, it just feels like it's not there (especially if you've used the disguised version + hide it from app drawer). No battery drains too, except if I activated it and start tracking my phone laugh.gif

Good thing that it saved your wife's device! I had a very similar experience with yours, which only realizing that she lost her device at least 30minutes ~ 1hours later (was at cinema, wasn't even sure when she lost her phone).

That time I seriously regretted that I did not install any of the anti-theft apps, even if it's just a slightest hope of recovering the device (but mainly due to most app just sucks that time, and I wasn't aware of Cerberus until azrash mentioned it here).

My opinion is, investing RM12 for a protection of your device (or multiple devices) which easily cost more than thousands, is definitely worth it IMO. Even if it doesn't guarantee to recover a lost device for you, at least there are chances of recovering which are definitely better as compared with NIL, ZERO, NONE, NULL chances of recovering a lost device cry.gif

If you don't mind me asking, in your post
