QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Apr 4 2013, 11:58 PM) Buy 50 Shades book yourself. You happy & I'll know it's possible to buy ebook.Everyone leave happy. It's not the fastest but it's feature rich compared to other mobile browser. Chrome comes handy if you have multiple devices. I hardly read books +1 to Chrome part. The only reason I uses chrome is because of the deep-integration of sync-across-devices. Bookmarks? History? Current tab @ other devices? Nothing to worry anymore as everything is tied to my Google Account

QUOTE(Calex @ Apr 5 2013, 12:44 PM) Btw, is anyone using AirDroid? It's a really useful piece of software this Allows wireless data transfer to and from your phone w/o using a cable Yeah, been using it since my DHD. The only one thing I dislike is when I download multiple files from my device, they'll always zip it with the same name forever instead of separated pieces of files

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Apr 5 2013, 02:36 PM) chances will kena is high la. my friend all kena too my ipad touch wood not kena yet but really, for me changing from iOS to android, really is like changing from driving right hand car to left hand car a lot of what stock android offers doesn't make me happy, need to download a lot of app to customize what i want.but after some customization, now seems all good Haha. For some of us it's actually a feature that we treasure as we can fully customise the feeling of our device to our needs/wants (surely everyone will have different preferences / tastes) NightFelix: Yeah, saw the AirDroid v2.0 but didn't really try it out as it's been so long since I last connected using AirDroid. Sometimes it's just easier to directly plug in & copy files (since we are not required to "Mount USB Storage" anymore which is very convenient)

QUOTE(iceman31 @ Apr 5 2013, 05:36 PM) Help is can help, just that I'm worried that outside is too dusty and traps dust / lack of time to align properly Took me 1 hour to align & remove dusts when I applied it at my home after turning off all the fans, doors and windows (could be that my place is really dusty) due to the tricky Nexus-4 curved sides This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Apr 5 2013, 05:43 PM

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Apr 5 2013, 06:00 PM) Try todo it in bathroom after a hot shower. It will be dust free! but it is dDamn hot afterwards. I've installed a few times in bathroom. 100% success. Heard about this method to prevent dust/lints too but have yet tried it as getting the device anywhere near water makes me feel uneasy

Someone previously asked (lazy to crawl few pages back on mobile ) whether if I could purchase books or not. So here goes, yes, it is working [attachmentid=3379432][attachmentid=3379433] azrash interesting app.. Most will he rendered useless after the device performed factory reset. The license is tied up alongside with Google account? Cause might be installing in different devices with different email.

QUOTE(azrash @ Apr 6 2013, 03:23 AM) it is not tied to your Google Play account, it will be tied to an email that you provide. so say you want to flash/install it in your sister's phone, just open the Cerberus app and login using the credentials that you have used when you signed up, and tick the options that you want to enable, and you are all set. Interesting. Will give it a look soon as I've previously indirectly experienced (not me but my partner) loss of device (stolen or pickpocketed, no idea ) and it really sucks One thing I'm curious about tho, will it cause battery drains or kernel wakelocks? Given the nature of the app. This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Apr 6 2013, 10:15 AM

azrash Just checked out Cerberus and indeed an impressive apps. Gotta test it a few days to check for battery usage and purchase it if no heavy draining.

Few of the good things with Cerberus is, most notable as mention-ed by azrash is the root and disguise mode which'll survive flashing. But a few otheradvantages that I noticed is that Cerberus comes with multiple mode of tracking/remote controlling - either via the Internet or via SMS commands (which'll be deleted and hidden from the user upon receiving the command so they'll not be alerted or notified, just tested it myself). So if they disabled Mobile Data or WiFi, you can simply use the SMS command to re-enable it and continue tracking. Haven't tried the root flashable version (which enables GPS automatically) yet. Noticed one flaw tho, it'll most likely help in recovering the device if it was dropped without anyone picking up / good guys pick it up as in the lock screen (even with Pin or Pattern lock), one could just simply turn the device off by holding the power button for 1~2 seconds; or force reboot by holding the power button for ~8-10 seconds which would render Cerberus useless. Still it comes down to the conclusion that if the device is powered-off; or the thief is a power-user who have the knowledge of flashing / rooting / etc (less likely tho); Cerebus is rendered useless *Note: It's been quite some time since I last tested / tried those theft-protection apps; as previously most just plainly suck including HTC Sense's. No mobile data or internet = good bye; or factory reset = good bye.
So my opinions are rather more to first-hand experience/opinions instead of comparison reviewsThis post has been edited by polarzbearz: Apr 6 2013, 04:51 PM

QUOTE(FuuuuuuD @ Apr 6 2013, 04:56 PM) Thanks for the info, Ya actually I'm quite interested solely on the fact that it can survive flashing. The other functions can be done with tasker. Hmmmm.. Not sure if i want to buy lol. I don't think it'll survive flashing as flashing a ROM will overwrite system.img; but surviving factory resets / wiping data wouldn't be a problem. (I have yet personally tested it tho, now only testing if there's any battery drain)

Just bought Cerberus license as there's no major battery drain detected. I have no idea if it'll help me or not in the future but paying RM12 for a just-in-case situation for attempting to recover device losses is not a bad deal IMO (of course I wouldn't hope that such a day will come )azrash Yeah I tried to auto-take photo on failing numerous attempt in unlocking, it's nice (and stealthily too). Thanks for the recommendation!

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Apr 6 2013, 08:54 PM) ya, not everyone likes protection case. Used to love protection cases previously, but after stripping it off and using my DHD naked, I enjoyed the sleek-feeling and thus decided going for slightly-less-protection cases this time

QUOTE(alpha91 @ Apr 6 2013, 10:13 PM) Hi, everyone, i just got myself a Nexus 4 today. want to ask, if i want to mod it, is it first i have to install ADB > Bootloader > CWM > Root ? Yup. Basically that's the flow; but to be exact, you can unlock bootloader without installing ADB by powering off your device, then hold power-on + volume-down simultaneously to enter bootloader, to proceed with "Unlock bootloader" (which will wipe your entire device). Wrongly posted, my apologies This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Apr 6 2013, 11:11 PM

QUOTE(alpha91 @ Apr 6 2013, 11:04 PM) ok, i just try power on+ volume down, but i can only choose among Start, Restart Bootloader, Recovery Mode or Power off. can i know how to unlock bootloader ? Ah, wait, I think I mixed it up with something else. Just re-checked again and the initial flow is correct. Edited my post out. Brain not working well today. Sorry for any inconveniences caused.. haha
