hmm...'google now' seems got potential to be a great thing

my friend sent me her agoda booking to my email, which the checking in date is today

then at my google now, the hotel details just approve today saying today is checking in date , with 1 click touch to open the map of the hotel, call the hotel, and email of it!

and it's been showing me the weather of the city i going to soon for the past few days!
*
Those features are nice but it seems to be working randomly. There's one day where it somehow displayed Public Transport Schedule (but although I know it'll never be accurate, since we're at Malaysia tongue.gif); and it never worked again ever since that day. sad.gif

QUOTE(olygopoly @ Apr 10 2013, 09:58 AM)
So just instal the .apk file & it will replace our current google playstore right ?
*
Yup! smile.gif

QUOTE(nsg86 @ Apr 10 2013, 10:12 AM)
Did ya turn it off? it always there , although i do travel to work via public transport biggrin.gif
*
Didn't turn it off. Maybe because I didn't travel via public transport, usually only pick-up rclxub.gif

QUOTE(mhanis @ Apr 10 2013, 11:03 AM)
For cerberus app, wondering if we can use one license for two device e.g. Samsung S III & Nexus 4?
*
One license entitles you up-to 5 devices. So, yes you can nod.gif

What about both devices using different gmail or Google play credentials? Can?
*
Shouldn't be any problems there as it links to device based on IMEI instead of Google Account. Tried it with both my devices + my partner's and it's working smile.gif

But if the device location is off, can we remote the device to turn on the location? I already try, doesn't work
*
Location? You meant gps? Auto GPS Enabling only works for rooted as ICS have disabled GPS toggling.

I tried disabling my gps (data enabled) and it will automatically activate once I enable the 'Start Tracking' mode. After choosing 'Stop Tracking' the GPS will then be turned off.

Actually it was a good app,BUT it suck my phone battery like nobody business
*
QUOTE(azrash @ Apr 10 2013, 12:36 PM)
Hmm I highly doubt this. If the app is not triggered or activated remotely, it will just stay 'asleep' like it is not installed.

Pretty sure others can corroborate this, I have used it since the Desire Z. Are you sure it is draining your battery while it is inactive? Check your BBS.
*
Like azrash mentioned, I never had any drain at all except if I triggered the app (tracking mode)

QUOTE(mhanis @ Apr 10 2013, 12:44 PM)
What i mean is location access, when i remote to locate the device, location access doesn't turn on, the phone just searching for gps and i cannot locate my phone. They said Sorry, Cerberus could not find your device location. If location access is turn on then they can find my device.

But if i login using website i can locate my phone without enabling location access, hehe.. smile.gif
*
Hmm not sure about that, mine is always enabled (but turning off GPS), so the app will automatically turn on gps when required.

*
sweat.gif So kind of you, but wouldn't informing his parents be better; at least it might prevent the same thing from happening again in the future. Sad to see if a child continues stealing and thinking it's okay, and becoming a thief in the future rclxub.gif

*
Try checking out Mercury Flip Case.

Wah....before sleep my stock nexus battery is at 97%.

After 7 hours of idle left 78%.

I check battery usage it says 16% of battery drain is for phone idle, 13% beautiful widgets, 12% android OS...
*
How often do you let Beautiful Widgets sync the weather? The usage seems to be pretty high and might be the cause of battery drain. Try installing BBS and check out the kernel wake lock

Its on default leg the beautiful widget thing

Hmmm care to explain more on the kernel wake lock thing?

What is BBS?

I am still fairly new on android biggrin.gif
*
BetterBatteryStats. Get it from XDA, it's an application to log / monitor battery usage and to determine which apps are causing battery drain.

Kernel Wakelock occurs when an application (or more) prevents the phone from going into Deep Sleep (which saves battery when not utilized)

On a side note, Google Chrome (Beta) on Android 27.0.1453.49 introduces full-screen viewing (finally!). Hopefully it'll be finalized and released as stable version laugh.gif

Hello,

I was wondering since you guys have been using this phone for a few months now does it still perform fluidly like it did when you first got it? Or has it become laggier?
*
Still smoothly fluid experience on stock ROMS w/ custom kernel. nod.gif

I don't think it will get laggy, as usually the lags are caused by lack of ram with increasing memory usage by apps.

Any recommendation??
*
Depends on which type you prefer.. laugh.gif

Heavy defender type, bumper-only type, full-slim case type, or flip case type.

For full-slim case I'd recommend Diztronic Matte Black TPU case. IMO it's protective enough (hard), provides full cover (with lips standing out in the front screen), and not too bulky.

You can refer to first page's Accessories post too, to have a look at some of the recommended casings.

New Nexus 4 user reporting in.

First time using a smart phone after all this while on a BB. Feels like I'm in a whole new world.

Is there a way to get all my music from a sort of "Cloud" service that Google offers?
*
Google Play Music. Upload your musics to the cloud and stream it or download it to any other devices linked with Google Account tongue.gif

So with Google music, I no need to store music in my phone? I store in the cloud then stream it? Will it take up loads of data?
*
By default it'll be stored in the cloud. To play it, you can stream it directly via the cloud. Alternatively (to preserve data usage), you can mark certain albums to "Store on Device" so that it'll be available offline; or chose to "Stream via WiFi only". smile.gif

Just bought myself a Nexus 4 yesterday and have been very happy with it =D Testing out the battery life atm. Btw, I'm VERY tempted to try out some custom roms >.<
*
If that's the case, unlock your bootloader first and everything else can come later (Rooting, Flashing Kernel, Flashing ROMs, etc); as unlocking bootloader WILL wipe off every data on your phone. So the earlier you do it the less hassle later tongue.gif
