An interesting read before I went to bed. See the posts by user mirrorstore.

So limyuyang, please get someone with S3 or Note 2 to test out your powerbank, or you give it a real rundown first.

I have tried iPhone 4S, ipad 2, xperia x8, mo mom's phone ( old phone with keypad , Sony Ericsson but I don't know what model is that ).
*
I know you can charge, but what I really meant was to let someone with a Note 2 (preferably) test the real power output of the bank. S3 and Note 2 can use the GCC app to see the incoming current whether it is full 2A or not.

S3 Mini can get SOT 5 hours+ meh ?

girl83 reported she did. But the S3 mini's CPU is built for low power performance, so maybe it can? Have to ask her for a report tongue.gif

Hmm, how to printscreen it? and how to upload the printscreen to this thread?...

after i reset the 5 hrs sot last few days, im testing how long my phone can idle with minimal screen on set to 100% brightness...

now at BBS show 2d9h24m30s DeepSleep 99.2%

awake 25m38s  0.7%

screen on 9m 37s 0.3%

i think something wrong with my awake vs my screen on (maybe reinstall skype and twitter, gonna uninstall it)

battery left 69%

he wont jealous lor, mine only s3 mini nia...
*
So you need to show:

1. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=3320183
2. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=3320184
3. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=3346527

But for S3 mini screenshot, hmm.gif I think you can do powerbutton+upvol or powerbutton+downvol I don't remember which one. You will see a flash across the screen. Then pull down your notification to view and save it.

To load a screenshot, you can either browse from the phone browser or desktop browser, then below this text entry box there's a "Browse" button for you to view and add files.

If you are doing from the PC, you need to transfer the file to the PC first.

or how about other users for note 2 at your thread? what is their max idle time?  flex.gif
*
I don't think most users care about max idle time since the phone is meant to be used tongue.gif

However you can check v20 post 10 for current records. Longest ever was 4 days with 4hrs SOT.

I will check SOT again after i finished checking idle time hopefully by this few days my batt will go down at least 20-30% before i printscreen

hopefully this will serve for reference those who re interested in getting s3 mini.

i think my batt starts to kick in after 6 charge few days ago.

NFC = S Beam ?
*
Iinm, nfc is not s-beam. Nfc is a low power low speed protocol but it is used to help enable wifi to perform the trasfers. Its original purpose was meant for small quick data transmission only like qr codes. I could be mistaken though.

Me cant even last for a day. I'm heavy user btw. Watch movie, play games and browsing.
*
Of course if you subject it such usage it will drain faster. Any smartphone that can last you 1 full work day of use is good enough, as it is doing a lot more than just calling and texting.

Hmm let say if i update my apps, will it overwrite it? or will it uninstall original apps automatically and install new fresh files?

if update and overwrite it, wouldn't the original files will be bigger in size mb?
*
The new version overwrites the original APK. It should end up being larger.

eg: whatsapp - if we have to update 10 times, then the original files will be bigger and bigger in mb? how to overcome this problem? remove the original files and do a fresh installation? if so, how to remove original files? by uninstalling via applications?
*
The original file is overwritten. Only the latest version remains. Size growth is just the current size. There are no older versions sucking up space.

Am considering getting an S3 mini.

Can this phone sync with my outlook 2007 to send and receive emails? Are there suitable apps for it?

I checked this app Outlook.com but the ratings seem to be really low.
*
Email syncs with your server, not your pc client. You can install apps that talk to Exchange or try the built in Email app.

is it possible to install whatsapp running on our pc/laptop?
*
No. Whatsapp depends on your phone number. You can only install it on a device that has a phone number. Even wifi tablets need some kind of spoof to make it work. You can google for it but I don't recall if it was successful.
