i heard from another forum is that full syn (15x50W) oil will increase fuel and no power
*
personal opinion 10W30 / 10W40 / 5W40 synthetic are the best choice from my point of view.

Well of course others may have their own opinions for oil grades. smile.gif

Got this from => http://www.turbodriven.com/en/turbofacts/r...mendations.aspx

Recommendations for Servicing and Care
What is good for a turbocharger?
The turbocharger is designed such that it will usually last as long as the engine. It does not require any special maintenance; and inspection is limited to a few periodic checks.

To ensure that the turbocharger's lifetime corresponds to that of the engine, the following engine manufacturer's service instructions must be strictly observed:

Oil change intervals
Oil filter system maintenance
Oil pressure control
Air filter system maintenance

What is bad for a turbocharger?
90 % of all turbocharger failures are due to the following causes:

Penetration of foreign bodies into the turbine or the compressor
Dirt in the oil
Inadequate oil supply (oil pressure/filter system)
High exhaust gas temperatures (ignition system/injection system)
These failures can be avoided by regular maintenance. When maintaining the air filter system, for example, care should be taken that no tramp material gets into the turbocharger.

Failure diagnosis
If the engine does not operate properly, one should not assume that the turbocharger is the cause of failure. It often happens that fully functioning turbochargers are replaced even though the failure does not lie here, but with the engine.

Only after all these points have been checked should one check the turbocharger for faults. Since the turbocharger components are manufactured on high-precision machines to close tolerances and the wheels rotate up to 300,000 rpm, turbochargers should be inspected by qualified specialists only.

thanks bro,
what is the different compare to 15w/50?

in terms of protection and fuel efficiency?

thanks again
*
50 is heavier then 40. Protection will be the same as both came from the same oil. Fuel efficiency definitely 40 compare 50 from my point of view.

I don;t know did you notices that your engine will be very much quieter if using 50. smile.gif

may i know spark plug for exora cfe can use ngk iridium or must use the original proton?.. proton price is 398.. crazyyy,,,
*
Proton use NGK Iridium (ILKAR7G7) if not mistaken, it can last 100,000km. There is no reason to change unless there is a faulty plug you r experiencing?

You're right, it is expensive! cry.gif

would like to check with you guys...i've just serviced my EB for 20K service and it cost me RM600++ ....dang...u guys shared same experience??? things that SC change:

1) Engine Coolant
2) Fuel filter
3) Fully Syntetic Oil
4) Oil filter
5) 'others' {can't really recap now}

According to the service manual..it doesn't mentioned changing engine coolant and fuel filter...but SC insist to follow their common CVT 20K service instruction....

Appreciate your feedback...
*
Yikes, mine comin to 20k service..hmm

Did they change CVT oil? i think that's the most important?

Guys, one thing I notice after my first service (after CNY) at 1K, after service the response of the car seems not so responsive or not so powerful as compare to the initial before service. Is it because of the engine oil? I chose Helix for this round of service. Just wondering what is the original engine oil when the car comes? Also what type of petrol you guys pump? I am using Shell 95.

Also, wondering will it cause any problem for the next service if I change the engine oil from initial Helix to Petronas because I want to see if there's any different. Any input sifus here?
*
I did had tht prb after 1k service. The car become less power n un responsive. Where did u service ur car tht time.

I never found why is tht so, but after I had changed to synthetic oil base the engine seems to be more responsive like whem I got the car first time.

can use speedworks k&n, which is mounted right after the turbo.. thats the best location, but need to have heatshield..
mine, already do ram pipe, so no need heatshield la, look more nice..haha

save budget.. k&n -RM 220, pipe + install RM 150 = 370..results? kepish!! kepishh!!
*
Woah! smile.gif thanks for the share! awesome!

Yeah i saw the picture from Speedworks K&N and i may opt that one with the Heatshield as well smile.gif he quoted me RM600 for that.

Bro Zakinawi, you may also want to install RaceChip to your car. VERY torqy!!

Bro akchang, Want to know how obvious u feel the different with racechip installed??
*
All I can say before racechip the car runs a litttle flat. Now you get littlw more torque during pickup and good response.

If you want obvious result get racechip Ultimate.

Interesting! tq for the info, my only concern is our cvt reliability..
*
Cvt reliable im not too worry about. Most probably our exora bold max torque 160nm (according to my EBDII). Well everyone gets different results I think.

i'm wondering if all these modifications made to the bold will void the warrenty or not... u guys seem to do alot of modifications.
*
Changing to a better lightbulb void warranty. I'll risk it for safety concern.

Changing to bigger rims, void warranty. I'll risk it for safety concern.

Pumping autofoam to your car chasis void warranty (i assume cause it touches the chasis). I'll do it for safety concern.

Changing to aftermarket performance absorber void warranty. I'll risk it for safety concern.

Changing after market air filter void warranty. I'll do it for better pickup response.

Puttimg a racechip void warranty. I'll do it for more torque and better FC

and there are lots more...

QUOTE(mandrew @ May 27 2013, 10:10 AM)
Correct. Last time I also enquired SC to understand how it works.....
According to them, the Auto Cooler triggers On only when the temperature is higher than 85 degree.
That means, the Cooler will not start, if the engine temp is not going higher than this. And once it is above 100 degrees, the Cooler mode goes to the 2nd level whereby you will be hearing louder sound of the Fan running.

Since there is very good air circulation during long trips.... you rarely hear this when you stop after a long trip....
*
i'd used the odbii scanner and look at the coolant and cvt temp both a little bit identical readings running at 83'C to 90'C.

Btw, anyone installed a boost meter? for fun?
