Saw this air filter in mudah.my. anyone has this installed and how is the performance? it says can increase 5% - 20% horsepower and 5% - 15% fuel saver.

http://www.mudah.my/Simota+works+u+s+a+air...car-8793870.htm
*
I'm using this and no you do not gain 5-10% hp. it offers you free maintenance even though you need to wash them from now and then.

If you want to gain hp you may go for K&N open pod like zakinawi did. smile.gif

Btw zakinawi, any plans to tukar the whole exhaust system? brows.gif

Bro akchang,

Mind if I ask some q?

1) What are your results with autofoam.  How much did it cost? Where did you get it done?
2) does the racechip produce noticeable difference in pickup? Any difference in fuel economy?
3) What are stiff rings?

Tks in advance for your reply!
*
1. Cost = RM1200 +/- From : KL Auto Results : Stable during fast driving, improves handling
2. You may goto => RaceChip MY
3. Go here to learn about stiff rings => Stiff Rings

bro akchang,
so you've installed stiff ring? any significant different felt? how much damaged?
any reason why u look for stiff rings?
*
Well, as i had said earlier for those exora bold cfe owners who's steering always tilt to left a bit even numerous times you do aligments, this will help to straighten out permanently at least for me. Damaged about RM250 + 50 (labour)

theres a different regarding the thickness of the wires..the thicker, the better, but more expensive..the core of the wire is the most important.. hard to find acc shop which is jujur enough to tell all abt this.. EA autoworks gives the advice..

Yup, eric is the best person to do grounding as he knows what he is doing.

420 each. wallet empty now.  cry.gif

car feels more stable now, certainly much quieter. maybe its my mental issue, but now i dare to drive normally in rain conditions...with the original GT, just felt scared that it would skid on water. am going to carry my harp (musical instrument) to penang next year for concert for the first time in this new car, so want max safety.

unrelated to tires...i noticed that the R gear is sort of strange. sometimes it doesnt engage right, i need to shift the stick around, and also it seems underpowered? need to step quite a bit of gas when reversing uphill. i had to park on a steep bukit ytd and was having some difficulty...is this normal?
*
R gear not shifting well? For me it shift spot on everytime i want to reverse.

Mebbe during assembly of your Bendix? I'm installin the Bendix pads and also changing to steel brake hose this month. Lets see whether i'll share the same fate as you. Could be the Bendix it self?

when do we need to change tis brake pad? how many km?
*
My original brake pads still at 65%, still there's another a year or more to go but I wanted to change for a better brake pads.

not sure how to measure how many km need to change the brake pads. for me usually i'll see the pads thickness and "agar-agar" la.

Anyway i guess this website will answer your question => http://www.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/br...kes-checked.htm

just want to share what i did to my car yesterday.

i have done alignment less than 2 weeks ago, then suddenly yesterday, feeling like the alignment is not correct (lari a bit).

since this is the 2nd time i did the alignment, so i decided to visit shop near the sunway area to find for "stiff ring" as what been advised by some of the forumer here.

then, i found naga motorsport, so i ask them about stiff ring, and luckily they have the stock for exora, so i pay for it together with the installation (damaged 220 + 30).

they also propose me the front urbar, since the price is reasonable (130), so i take the offer.

what i had after all the installation is, best driving experienced, the steering now is more firm and tight.

regret i didn't install this earlier ...

now enjoying my ride better ...

cheers ...

Guys,
Just to share, ive been travelling from kl to alor setar to kuala perlis to padang besar to alor setar to penang and now otw to KL,

The car suddenly engine oil light then Check engine light

Then found out the oil leaks

Exora was bought on 3/2012, and still under warranty

Now stranded at ladang bikam, called proton, they said they will repair FOC but not the towing charge to KL

So call my insurance, they said they will tow to jalan duta from here for rm231+ lorry truck toll.

Just wanna share...

Bow im stranded, tomorrow working

Less than 2 years car, and the engine leaks laugh.gif

Engine oil all dried up when i arrived at Hentian ladang bikam...

Edited: max speed 130-140km/h
Average 110km/h due to this is not my car
Always stop at RnR or petrol station

Now i suspects this is due to:

*
Co-incidentally my uncle's Preve had this oil leak as well. But has been fixed since then early this year.

My Exora had an oil leaked the last time but was due to bad oil filter, leaked out about 1 liter. mad.gif mad.gif

1. Rm130
2. Rm 420 (actually is called "rear anti-roll bar" not lower rear strut bar.

Burning smells most probably coming frm ur cvt transmission. It got really hot.

Went to COSE this morning. They put more grease. i said what the heck man. already put grease and sound still there. demand them to replace the steering rack. sales advisor said can but need to leave car for 3 working days. At this point, i do not care if they take more than 3 days.

Go back home by commuter.. waste time and money.

Too bad, overall EB is good but once again quality issue still there. There is still minor defect which i do care anymore to claim.

From my point of view, when you own a proton car even you're not a mechanic you will be one eventually. smile.gif

Guys don't change your air filter to open pod so you can hear the turbo kepish sound or you will lose torque.got this info from eocm(EXORA OWNERS CLUB MALAYSIA/EXORA OWNERS CLUB MOTORSPORTS)
*
I think is how you modify the open pod air filter. This link here show the design of the open pod which actually works with data sheet.

I'm not sure the others kind of mod cause they never give any data sheet.
