QUOTE(Zelmel @ Oct 23 2014, 12:18 PM) Hi, I finally decided to take EP5 instead of EPL7 or EM10. Like the EP5 overall design than the other two (personal preference). what's in the package again?I didnt get it from Boeing though because they need to order. I need to try it this weekend during friend wedding, so i got my EP5 from YL Photo in Jaya 33 Mall for RM 2640 (40 more than Mr Hang quote me, but its okay for me. Hope to learn from sifu here. The menu only is too many to learn already. Few question: 1. The time and date reset each time battery is taken out? 2. My firmware is 1.2, it is recommended to upgrade to 1.4? www.dpreview.com gave good review on new firmware. |

QUOTE(Zelmel @ Oct 23 2014, 01:27 PM) EP5 + 17mm F1.8 + 14-42mm Non EZ version. awesome package! thinking back how much the ep5+17mm were when they launched, you really saved a lot. No free bag though. Got screen protector and lens pen as free gift, although it sound weird. I bought silver color one. Both lens I choose black color. |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Oct 26 2014, 01:55 PM) from my experience getting 3rd party battery (sony rx100 & nex-6) - normally will be around 70/80% of original battery. which is fine for me for the price paid. it's worth it then, i can get 3 3rd party batteries compared to 1 original battery. even with original battery I am getting around 200+ shots from the em10 which is really poor |

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Oct 27 2014, 06:24 PM) actually i can just live with 1 battery if the charging period is as fast as smartphone nowadays. too bad the BLC-5 take 3 hours It's really slow for a battery that small. Suddenly miss the never ending battery life on my old dslr (around 800-900 shots for Canon 550D which is really crazy). |

QUOTE(ken_jr @ Oct 27 2014, 09:15 PM) I have 1x 3rd party BLS 5 battery I can let go should any bro interested. Brand is divipower. 3500 mah. Stated on the battery. Never used before cos I already got 2x original BLS5 which is enough for me. This extra battery given to me by my friend who works in Olympus SG. Interested bro whatsapp me and I'll send pic. How does the battery perform on EM10? Can you try it? 3500mah is crazily powerful for the em10 (less than 1000mah for bls5?) so I am worrying if it works nicely. Would be interested to buy from you. |

QUOTE(ken_jr @ Oct 30 2014, 08:09 AM) I haven't use it yet bro. Just charged and use it as backup in case both my original batts are not enough but so far haven't happen. Maybe my finger not so trigger happy. Will the value of the battery drop when it has been used (even for just 1 time)?Maybe got chance then I'll use it see how it lives up to its 3500mah tag. But then it will be used battery already. Anyways new picutre ![]() Late to School by tuna97, on Flickr |

QUOTE(bobds78 @ Oct 30 2014, 11:21 AM) Bro, you always have your set with you? Btw, does anyone carry their gears all the time, journalists/reporters aside, how do you store them? Put it in the car or carry them to the office/workplace? Haha I bring it with me most of the time when I go to school or other places with people, always enjoy shooting random faces and expressions. Its so small and light compared to my DSLR anyways (might change the 1240 to prime sets when I want lighter package ). |

QUOTE(toiletwater @ Nov 1 2014, 08:29 PM) Hi M43 sifus! Amazing pictures Just had a quick read on Voightlander lenses, very interesting indeed.1) What's the difference between the 'Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 Nokton II' and the 'Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 Nokton' 2) Is this website http://yamiya.com.my/store/manufacturers.p...ufacturerid=109 reliable? Thanks in advance! I am looking for the 42.5 f0.95 though, anyone owns this before or knows which shop sells it? I searched for YL, Yamiya and Shashinki but no result. |

QUOTE(toiletwater @ Nov 1 2014, 11:55 PM) Thanks haha, looks like I searched the wrong keywords.Price is quite over though as b&h is really for $999. Something to ask, any lens when used on 4/3 sensor had multiply the magnification for 2? |

QUOTE(jloi @ Nov 2 2014, 12:16 PM) Not bad magnification for that voightlander then, 0.5x magnification when mounted on m4/3, add on a raynox or something I got a fast lens for low light/ DOF shots + macro setup http://youtu.be/gdTsJgatF9o?t=5m3s voightlander lenses are considered rare in Malaysia right? EDIT: anyone tried using the 75mm f1.8 for macro? for example attaching raynox or something on it? Did another search on the 42.5 f0.95 and the price is kinda... too much in Malaysia consider it's the same price as 12-40 pro in US http://www.ylcamera.com.my/product.php?pag...dbrowse_order=0 This post has been edited by mingyuyu: Nov 2 2014, 01:54 PM |

Macros again
Photographed a pair of adult Tortoise Beetle and it's larva. The adult ![]() The larva ![]() Never get tired of photographing them because the adult looks really dull and bright, resulting over exposed most of the time unless received really soft lighting. The larva hides underneath leaves instead of staying on it like most other species of insects do, so you had to find a good angle to get a correctly exposed picture. |
