Touchscreen is a big plus when using manual lens biggrin.gif

Well GPS isn't a must unless you are shooting for documentary.

I think so too, GPS not really important for the general users, Nikon did the smart move for the D5500, shrinking the size by a bit and reducing the costs as well.

I say frankly I liked the D5500 a lot. Its quite light. However, finding a used unit is very difficult. I am thinking of getting a new unit but I am unsure whether its worth or not.

If use the app purchase + discount code i mentioned in previous post

D5500 = RM2480 - 10% = RM2232

D5300 = RM2050 - 10% = RM1845 (The RM1999 promo seems already expired)

Most probably you will go for a new 1 because hardly get a nice and cheap used set.

Lazada cameras are supplied from abroad and you have to wait up to 2 weeks before receiving it. This is ridiculously long.

Not all. Some is local with cash on delivery available. Try find a seller called ABQ.
http://www.lazada.com.my/abq/

http://www.lazada.com.my/nikon-d5300-18-55...32122.html?mp=1

http://www.lazada.com.my/nikon-d5500-18-55...94593.html?mp=1

make sure cash on delivery is available, because if they don't deliver on time, you can cancel anytime, and you can check the set condition before pay to them.

Oh, too bad…

Then you have got to sort it out by yourself already…if d5500 is much more expensive than the d5300 at your area, then u no choice already, haha.

D5300 is equipped with VR1 while D5500 is equipped with VR2 right? Correct me if I am wrong.

Haha, around RM400 difference between these two models.

Maybe save it for a 35mm f1.8G?

If you buy from that Lazada seller, just browse once more to see their offer. Some include 8GB memory and camera bag as well. Just make sure it is not "shipped from abroad" or "import set" biggrin.gif

Not sure this code valid until what time. Maybe the previous code I shared has longer validity.

This code seems better to buy the d5300 since RM250 discount? tongue.gif

ah, the Nikon 35mm f1.8G, love it very much when I have my D7000.

so much gear talk, time to share some photos.

all shot with 45mm f1.8. this lens sits at home too much, seldom use. sometimes i feel like selling it, but i like this lens.

There are some very nice pricing on body alone but I had yet to jump fearing the same. However, isn't there a manufacturer's warranty, beside the usual seller's provided warranty?

Poodle doesn't shed much. It's my gf's pet. She keeps it in house.

____

I wouldn't buy any camera bodies from TaoBao. Prefer to get it locally. Lost a parcel when buying stuffs from TB before, agent only pay back half of what it's worth. Poor experience. But there are times when the parcel arrive safely, I just got to be carefull what I buy from there, don't want to risk losing a camera body...

Thanks for the good advice bro, I think for small negligible stuffs its OK but if for big amount of $$ better be on the safe side but having said that, I haven't experienced any setback, yet, but only with aliexpress.com, not TB. Again, be cautious.
