hi guys,

currently im driving a trition 2.5 A/T. 2009.

it now gives me some problem.

1)when someone is sitting on the rear seat. it creates some sound. and nowadays, the leaf springs behind starts to emit some squeking sound as well. i have tried spraying WD-40 to the joints but it doesnt work.

2) when i start the car in the morning. the aircon gaves out some burnt smell. but after awhile it will be gone.

im wondering if anyone have the same issue?

was going to send to mitsubishi service centre. just hope to get some opinion here first.=)

Anyway... I noticed on the first page someone mentioned got 6 airbags? But I check Mitsu site only shows 2 airbags?
I'm actually looking for a pickup for casual day 2 day use... hence the most important (apart from looking macho la) would be comfort & safety. I doubt I would ever use it to haul any stuff or carry any cargo (apart from golf bags or travelling luggage ).

I'm looking at Hilux.. Ranger... Triton... still undecided.

Any tips and pointers you guys can provide would be great!

Yes. My friend who is driving an Estima told me his RM100 fuel tank can only goes up to 280-300km max. Thats about 33 cent per km. 4WD are really saving in FC.

yes, it is an unregistered new unit and just being delivered to show room. I forgot to take photo of it. 2013 VGT has side mirror indicator, auto foldable side mirror and the plastic roll bar.

This is what I would look for in a sc or membership subscription. After sales service is becoming an important criteria when buying cars nowadays. Glad Mitsubishi are working on this direction.

From what i have seen, each SC is run by different SC manager and mechanics. If unlucky, you might meet up with some SC with sloppy SC manager or mechanics who are newbie and possibly messed up your ride. When one mechanic messed up, they have 2 choice. 1. admit they are new and its their fault. 2. Blame it on the stock unit. 3. Pretend nothing happened and pass your ride back to you. I personally have meet no. 2 and 3. Mechanic experience differ from one person to another. If you can meet a good SC, stick to it. There are just too many people in the forum posting their bad experience in SC, regardless of brands (toyota, honda, Mitsubishi search it and u will find out).

Personally I went out of Mitsu SC after completing 40k milleage. For me, any major issue from stock unit that could happen, would already happen/appear within the first 40k. Any after that the claim process will be more tedious as they say you have done this and that etc. And also i wasnt happy with the low quality petronas black oil that i saw them pouring into my ride. I requested for a better black oil but find their price is much higher, which i can get easily 30-40% cheaper outside. Also i have my own trustable foreman to do the service maintenance. Just individual preference. (thats why i said some, and not all above )

Stock tends to stick causing an engine stall or loss of power on acceleration. Possible due to our poor diesel quality. The one from Isuzu is heavy duty and came from a lorry (supposedly can stand lousy diesel).

Ok, i have 3 commonrail in my family, speaking based on my experience.

Shell tends to emit more black smoke, power so so, FC gooding.

Petronas emit less black smoke, power ok, FC ok.

Caltex emit the lesser smoke, power gooding but FC higher than the two.

Mobil / Esso, hardly pump because most of their nozzle handle very dirty coz mainly pump by big lorry whom company got esso card. Cannot comment much.

Allow higher pressure in the common rail and also increase the limits for the commonrail system. Can tune higher power...

Can you guys please share what are the significant symptom of SCV issue?

I realized that my 3 weeks old Triton VGT can hardly hit above 2k RPM for city drive, is this consider as powerloss?

Hi all triton sifu , recently i bought a second hand 2008 triton milage around 60k kms
Now it has engine check lights on , and when fully throttle , rpm goes up to 3k rpm
then suddenly no power at all and black smoke coming out a lot from exhaust .
Have no time to send for checking yet . another funny thing is the immobilizer.
if i put in key , scan the immobilizer and start straight away then it works like normal ,
but if i put key in,turn to ignition , scan immobilizer then only start , when moving the car
like drag on the the gear. kind of like hug on a particular gear dont know for what reason
that i have to let go the trottle completely or accelerate very little only it will shift up
