QUOTE(N2585 @ Oct 20 2013, 08:37 PM) Hi guys, planning to get triton vgt GL version... anyone know where can get roller type of sport lid(in Selangor) which can be install by not removing the original sport bar that comes with the car? Roller lid tend to leak, so not advisable. Would recommend you to go for a sports lid. Klang 4x4, SS2 Overlander, Top-Up at Sunway.By the way, how soon can get your truck if you place order tmr? Any discounts? |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Nov 10 2013, 11:13 PM) 24 HP is a huge increment! Proud owner of a Vector too. A lot of diff compared to standard. Less lag overall, but black smoke is visible when you full throttle the truck.how much did u pay for your vector? they say it's just a plug and play chip and installation is very fast and minimal. is it true? Yes plug and play, just like installing on computer cables. Taking in and out between services to avoid warranty void is easy. |

QUOTE(ghost007 @ Nov 21 2013, 10:21 AM) Hi all, Dude, was checking prices of tires in Thailand, not much difference maybe slightly cheaper for tires made in Thailand. For imported ones buy it here.Is the tyres for 17" cheaper in Hatyai ?? MineĀ ( VGT ) is 45K mileage and it is time for a new rubber, how about the price at Hatyai when compare with silverstone AT 117 / Maxxis etc which is lower in price in Malaysia ?? Anyway was checking for tyre prices here too. Will share prices here too. Oh mine are 17" too, lowest so far Bridgestone Dueller 265/65/17 is RM 650. Might consider changing rims to go to 16" too This post has been edited by kevinycp: Nov 22 2013, 08:27 AM |

QUOTE(eboy7855 @ Nov 25 2013, 10:57 AM) Is there any custom tax if we install there? Suggest to dismantle all parts you plan to sell, drive in install whatever you need then drive back to avoid tax. If not mistaken its 30% duty. But should be able to kowtim at the border la.Unfortunately, I'm from Sabah. I think that impossible to me to send my car there. Attached before and after. So worth the drive up. This post has been edited by kevinycp: Nov 25 2013, 08:57 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Cheng5 @ Nov 28 2013, 10:13 AM) Thanks for the advise... Actually it is year end, lots of discounts given. So new and one or two year old not much diff with discounts, free service provided.I found that mostly people go for 2nd hand triton... in term of value is better ?? Unless you are looking at buying an 07/08 unit, quite a bit of savings, but you will need to find a good one or else spend a lot of $$$$ fixing one. |

Guys, thanks for thanks for all the suggestions and etc on tires and rims. Here you go! Just got them fitted last weekend.
Just a heads up when upgrading from my standard rims to offset ones, you need to have center cone installed or else at high speed your steering will be shaking like a vibrator! I just ordered the center cone from Tyre shop, will set be back another RM 150.00 per wheel. But overall I am satisfied. Happy driving peeps! Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Dec 30 2013, 02:02 PM) Dude center cones are those ring inserts you have to install when fitting in offset rims. This tightens the gap when screwing in the nuts. Its not a must, but if you don't want your car to vibrate at high speed then better install. Google it, it will explain further |

QUOTE(acrylics @ Dec 30 2013, 04:26 PM) Thanks for your info. Now my triton gotten worst now, i cannot press on the accelerator fast. Once i do, the engine power feels like kena cut, max speed 50kmph. And the engine light came out. Whenever this happen, i have to restart the engine 2-3times before it became normal. Dude sounds bad shape. Should send back to SC la. Maybe go to the one in Klang, they will layan you coz not many cars there. Glenmarie is like General Hospital for Triton la.Feels like the problem getting worst and worst, and i think its gonna be costly. |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Dec 30 2013, 02:02 PM) Finally got my center cone installed. World of difference without it. Now the ride is not vibrating even when hit 170kmh. Quite a costly lesson as it's my first time using off set wheels.Bros in this forum, please take note if you ever change to offset wheels, request for workshop to install center cone. Or else your car will feel like a vibrator. |

QUOTE(Stan82 @ Jan 28 2014, 04:51 PM) Dear bros, need advise. I've been driving sedan car since i young but im big fan of pick-up truck especially the Triton VGT GS now. But im not sure should i get it or not since im driving at KL city road most of the time. Im worrying such a big car is difficult to enter those commercial building in KL. The reason i want a pick up truck its easier for me to load my bicycle. Any advise? Pros n cons maybe? Buying a truck is a huge commitment and life changing experience. I was at the same road block, after switching to a truck, I don't think I will go back to a sedan again. Thanks The GS version should be nicer to drive around town as it is shorter. But I don't find any issues driving around town as I drive the longer bed version, it's about getting used to. The reverse sensor is quite reliable, but some bros here has installed a reverse camera. For me I chose a rear bull bar, if knock not pain mah My wife and I go on occasional bike rides when we travel. Bought a Thule two bike rack to mount on my tow bar. It's world bro. Scroll back few pages I've posted some images of my truck. There are just so many things to add on to this truck but they aren't that expensive to play. Enjoy the moment bro, as you will never forget your first truck once you switch. |
