For Setup 2, it have 3 Lan Connection to Setup 1, 5 & 8. So, any changes to the above model that you have suggested earlier?

For Autogate and Alarm, do I have to call electrician to do the connection?
*

you required to add-on 3 unit of SLAN1236 onto setup 2 to prevent surge coming from lan cable and going both side and damage any equipments which is interconnected with each others...

for common autogate and alarm, you can choose the following model...

Hello there, you can check TrickleStar Surge Protector, high fireproof surge protection in Malaysia, with highest insurance RM150K for you connected devices.
*

the manufacturer will compensate based on market value...
unless u have brand new equipments worth RM150k used 1 day only and struck by lightning, so the manufacturer will compensate most of the amount... anyway, so far i never heard any home / office use equipments (hardware) worth up to RM150k yet which can park on single protector only...

Hi TS, can recommend me which model is suitable for 1 unit router including ADSL protection? I was told somewhere there's a model which I can replace myself the component when the product got struck by lightning(?).
*

you can use SF9812DSL, but it only for 1 set of PC & 1 modem ONLY...
not designed for the protection of telephone, PC-PC networking (connected few PC onto same router)

I've read about cal-lab from your thread a few times but did not go through each of the post. Thinking to try cal-lab.

I need to check with u a few things...:
- if I connect my pc to Cal-Lab, will it 100% successful protect the PC?
- if no... is there any damage coverage to my pc?
- Is there any type of cal-lab for unifi setup (for landed house)
*

1. 99.99% can against surge if FULL protection, and depend how u install Cal-Lab... the surge still will damage ur equipments if NOT fully protected... example locked front house door only but no locked house back door, of course still will lead the robbery...
2. no compesation coverage as Cal-Lan no included the compensation cost into selling price...
3. if UNIFI only via fiber copper, u can use SC0039 only IF everything located side by side at the same area...

QUOTE(shinjin @ May 15 2012, 11:41 AM)
What is the different for below model ? Outlook same ?
1. SF 9512AR-D (Analog + C-ID)
2. SF 9512-DSL (High-speed)
*

SF9512ARD support voice & faxing & CLIP features
SF9512DSL support broadband via RJ11 (Streamyx)

- will it consider full protection if  I connect a normaly extension to SC0039 since there wifi router, phone dect & unifi fiber modem (I believe SC0039 only for one device)
- FYI, my UNIFI connected only use Fiber since landed not like some high rise using half fiber and half copper.
*

as long as wifi router, phone dect & unifi fiber modem (or so called RG, DECT, BTU, STB) located side by side with SC0039 will be fine... unless u have wired lan cable connected to other PC at other location or extended the cable for STB to other location, so the protection will be effected...

i recommended to get MDSC0039 5amp instead since your equipment's total power consumption is quite low as it have better sensitivity to against any minor surge from power...

yeah... RG,DECT,BTU,STB are side by side... so one SC0039 should be enuf?

fully protect by cal-lab?
wall plug --> MDSC0039 --> extansion plug --> unifi devices (all device side by side)
*
yes... as long as you don't have extended cables (such as lan cable or power cables or others) connected to other location then will be fine with SC0039 / MDSC0039 5amp... smile.gif

OK... I think... I will go as suggested MDSC0039... for my unifi devices...

For my room... I have a wall plug.... currently connect to TV, HyppTV Box, PC (connected via extension plug since quite far from the wall plug) through an extension plug.

basically:

wall plug --> extension plug --> tv, hypp tv box, extension plug ---> PC

so can suggested which cal-lab device for this settings?
*

HyppTV Box = STB ?
the setup above with other Unifi devices?

nope... the unifi devices in dining area... only the HyppTV Box (STB) is in my room since connected to my TV

my room:
wall plug --> extension plug --> tv, hypp tv box(STB), extension plug ---> PC

my dining with other unifi devices solve with MDSC0039 + extension plug
*

how is the connection between STB and RG?
the lan cable laid between dining room and you room right?
and how many lan cable in between since connected to STB and PC?

STB and RG got one 40m lan cable connected and no other cable connected to PC from RG... since all wireless
*

so the lan cable required for protection...

means dining area and your room MDSC0039 + SLAN1236
it is to unsure the surge won't come from lan cable itself as your house structure may attract surge too...
anyway, SLAN1236 only support 100mbit, no supported gigabit... but believe it should be no issues as Cal-Lab should tested the SLAN1236 onto Unifi devices...

let me know soonest as i will collect stock by tomorrow...

so my dining room which have unifi device = MDSC0039 + SLAN1236
my room which have tv, STB & PC = MDSC0039 + SLAN1236 as well? does MDSC0039 enuf for TV,STB & PC?
*

MDSC0039 have 5amp and 10amp version... u can choose either 1 but recommended 5amp
unless the power consumption almost equivalent than 1hp a/c then u may need 10amp version

Here your setup configuration

can give me the price and your account number inclusive postage to KL?
If no postage... I can meet u up at KL Convention Center for weekdays / any KL area for weekend.

btw i'm interested with the household automation - Automatic night-ON switch. how does it work and where I need to put at my light?
*

a bit difficult for me COD around KL...
but my daily working location at PJ, otherwise can COD at shah alam, sunway, subang, along LDP and kepong too...

so ur order is 3 unit MDSC0039 5amp and 2 unit SLAN1236? i will collect stock 2molo if confirmed and PM u the price...

the sensor of household automation should facing out the environment as it can detect the day light in order to swtich on & off the lamp...
but i required to check the stock availability as no much ppl buying it...

QUOTE(gerald7 @ May 25 2012, 11:45 AM)
was introduced to your products by a friend recently. Recently many of my electrical equipment have been getting fried and very frequently. Last night was the worse as the lightning storm in my area & flash flood. It took out my TV or Satellite box (HDMI down still need to trouble shoot what the fried component), computer network card, NAS power adaptor, phone line also down.

In the past 12 months, 2 adsl modems and 2 satellite box =.=''''

Whats best for my current set up.

Point A powers:
-adsl modem (subscribed to Streamyx)
-wireless router
-8 port switch (because previous hit took out the router ports, only 2 left and getting a switch was a cheap & quick solution)
-NAS (network attached storage)
-Laser printer

Point B powers
-Desktop computer (network via LAN cable)
-monitor
-speakers

Point C powers
-TV
-HiFi
-Satellite Boxes (one box is connected via LAN to router)
-Blu-Ray player

Point D powers
-Desktop PC (network via WiFi)
-speakers

Point E powers
-Cordless phone

Hopefully you can give me some suggestions on what I can use to reduce my equipment mortality rate >_<' I need to go kill Diablo and save the world !!!!
*

Point A
Is there any telephone / ADSL Splitter Filter connected with those equipments?
How many wired lan cables connected to other PC / equipments from modem / router / switch?
Laser Printer & NAS connected via lan cable at Point A?

Point B
you can use SD-4C if consisted of power + lan protection only

Point C
your TV / satellite box connected to any aerial antenna or astro dish?

Point D
you can use MDSC0039 for power protection only

Point E
you can use SF9512ARD, but i recommended to get SF9812ARD + spare SKPXARD if ur DECT phone always damaged by lightning

Other question:
Is it all the equipment of Point A-E located in the same room? If no, which equipments located at different location?

Ok.. Hmm.. Im planning to rearrange my room also. Not so space effective at the moment... So merging points A & B should not be an issue.

Why is there a need to duplicate SLAN1236? Between point A&B + C? or is that an error?

1x SF9812DSL (79) 79
1x MDSC0039FC (63) 63
1x MDSC0039 (53) 53
2x SLAN1236 (39) 78
1x SF9812ARD (79) 79

So estimated around RM 352?
*
SF9812DSL / ARD is RM89...

for in case the surge come from lan cable itself, it will going BOTH direction to Point A&B and Point C
So both side need lan cable protection to avoid any damages...

Im actually located in East Malaysia. While courier is usually arrives in 24 hours. Im also interested in some spares...  and any warranty ?
*

limited lifetime warranty...
u can restore ur cal-lab unit with small cost around RM10-RM15 for whole life if send the damaged unit to HQ directly rather than purchase new unit after the expired of warranty...
