hi, i need ur suggestion,

my configuration:
now i have 2 extension wire, 2x4port.

1 4-port extension wire:ADSL2 modem, 1000W water device, + header to another 4port extension wire for monitor, CPU, PDA, handphone charger.
*

erm... means all of the equipments power source come from the same wall power socket?
i would recommended for IT pack or MDSC0039 + SP9201DSL if ur total power consumption still below 2000w...

Damn it - only discovered this product after a few of my modems got fried. The usual products didn't do their jobs well, or they did it once and died anyway.

Too many lightning strikes lately - that's what you get for staying on a hill.

Gan, I bought a China-made multi-socket extension with a built-in lightning surge protector that operates by "breaking the circuit" when excess voltage is detected. When the circuit is broken, no electricity flows through. There's a red button which you supposedly just need press to get it working normally. Here's a photo:

Do you think this works well?

Plus, I definitely need a device to protect the phone line to my modem too, so I'll definitely be buying some stuff from you.

Thanks for your thoughts!

if just a PC set and a router only... no PC to PC networking... SF9812DSL/SF9512DSL will sufficient...

Label 2 for "From telekom" and Label 3 for "To modem"

IT pack doesnt come with ADSL splitter filter... which means it cant protect analog telephone and broadband connection may drop frequently... so plug the IT pack after ADSL splitter filter...

Telekom -> ADSL Spiltter Filter -> IT pack -> Modem

The 2 holes beside the IT pack are used for grounding purpose for ur equipment if necessary if u having equipment's grounding problem...

actually i'm not understand, this SP9201DAF in my IT-pack ,what is the meaning of DSL micro-Filter-Splitter??

and i refer to user manual in the IT-pack,
referred to the diagram,
it show label 1(from telco)
label 2 (dail-up modem)
label 3(DSL modem router)

why u said Label 2 for "From telekom" and Label 3 for "To modem" ??

why beside got 2 hole, and u said it may connected to ground, why need 2 hole to ground??

the user guide just for reference, if u wanna to look on manual guide... u can look for SF9512DSL installation guide, it same with IT pack...
u can plug multisocket onto MDSC0039... SP9201DAF come with micro filter...
if u wanted to protect telephone, modem and PC, the combination are MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF

hi,
i am really fed up with my modems. got fried by lightning 3 times this year only not even in 5 months! Last month lightning struck my telephone pole outside my house, my modem, switch, mobo, cs-box, home plug got fried and i spent more than 1.5k to get it replaced n getting surge protector as well. then just yesterday only, i saw the lightning struck the telephone pole again in front of my eyes. i tot my belkin surgemaster gold series can hold the lightning, who knows.. my modem fried again which newly bought last month. however, the belkin is still function well without any problem. surprise that i spent almost rm200 for nothing.

Cal-lab wont fried? i mean after lightning struck, does it still function?

Cal-Lab will fry if lightning surge over its limitation, but ur PC equipments confirm will be in safe condition with proper installation and used correct models. Cal-lab will choose to "kill" itself rather than "kill" ur equipments if it detected not able to isolate surge 100%...

so far i sell cal-lab at LYN around 2 years and deal with 100+ users, none of them complains that cal-lab fail to protect for the users who followed my recommendation models and installation... smile.gif only have 2 of my users complaint to me, 1 is insist dont want to follow my recommendation, another is wrong installation caused back surge (after investigated by Cal-Lab staffs)...

and the replacement cost for cal-lab is worth for ur money...
maximum u just pay another RM25 to swap another working units with cal-lab office on the spot and for life time...
means that RM25 can save ur RM1500... smile.gif

I also have happy user that his modem still working (but cal-lab dead) after the day with thunderstorm around klang valley, he just pay RM10 to replace a small module only and RM10 saved his modem or even his PC equipments...

for me i will recommend u to get SF9812DSL instead which ease to deliver damaged small module (SKPXDSL) to Johor for repairing jobs and cost u RM10, also u need to bear the delivery cost to send it... of course must be as low as possible and a small module wont cost u much... But IT pack kinda big and heavy and u have the bear the delivery cost more than a small module... unless u means ur PC power consumption are very high and used few set of PC from cal lab units...

Also, IT pack and SF9812DSL only used on 1set of PC with modem and no PC to PC networking involved...
