but its kinda hard to find a shop that only sell D50 body only. i scouted all the camera shops in SG, times square n low yatt for 2++ hours n only BINTANG MAJU COMMERCIAL sell D50 body only. that oso cost RM2380

if like that better add 20/70 bucks go buy the D50 with 18-55mm lens. n it is oso not much of a difference if u buy D50 body then cantum the 18-70mm lens since that lens not cheap oso...maybe >800++. i saw in www.nikon.com.my DX 18-70mm lens cost >1200 bucks

here cheapest can find is in sungei wang foto shangrila. 2400 for camera n lens

D70s is made from thailand??sure ar?? i better go ask again this saturday dunno whats the quality control in thailand oso. of course no match with japan la. thats for sure

anyway bout that message u sent to me just now whether u wanna buy fz30 or D50...i would recommend u go for the D50 bcos the fz30 noise problem is really a rascal u wont be able to stand the grainy photos when u start to shoot at ISO400 trust me bcos of the noise problem i would rather sell it away n buy myself a dSLR

i oledi surveyed the prices but it has not yet been bargained nor asked whether got any discount if we buy in bulk so i'll ask this coming saturday again

but that is at shangrila...we r now plannign on bulk buying in either tarita or boeing or maybe others depending on how low they will offer but of course their eyes will be as big as this when they c a normal individual coming to buy so many dSLRs

anyway i finally kumpul enough money to buy my first ever dSLR liao have to lelong so many of my useless stuffs through lelong to raise the funds anyway this saturday after i bargain KAU KAU with the shopkeepers, we'll discuss when we all r free n settle with cash then we storm the shop together

wa...form 5 only got SLR liao so jelous man... she in photography club in her school? nowadays seldom heard girls will be interested in big bulky bulky camera like SLRs. thought they go more for slim stylish cameras

poor close focusing capability??well in that case i think u should oso buy her the AF micro nikkor lens as a replacement. that lens is fantastic n i bet your sister will be soo happy she'll jump up to the sky but i dun think got another "poor guy" will be happy hope u get what i mean

sure thing i have already jotted down. oh yeah guys...on this coming friday remember to jot down oso the accessories that u guys wanted (bags, flash, lens, cards, extended batteries etc.) so hopefully maybe they can give 1 thing free rather than just discount lens r not free of course...

i mean 1 free stuff for each of us. of course len/flash n all those expensive stuffs is impossible la. who knows maybe they give 1 1gb card or 512mb card for free. can save hundreds oso. better than nothing

dunno bout depth of field preview control but seldom people use that control except for pros



first first i oso wanna get the D50 bcos it is 1000 bucks cheaper (tempting right? ) but after thinking, thinking n thinking, i think i rather go for the D70s instead bcos it is full of features compared to D50 n it came with a good lens 18-70mm lens. although in my opinion, the only thing i'm not satisfied with the D50 n EOS350D oso is the lost of the front dial. i love the 2 dials in my FZ30 so i'm used to using both of them in manual exposure

D50 came with 18-55mm lens but dunno whether it can satisfy u or not. a lot of people say it wont satisfy someone for long. sooner or later gonna change to other lens oso. mostly all change to the D70s lens which is 18-70mm. but that lens oso cost bout 900 bucks for first hand

but anyway choice is still up to u to decide if u feel that the D50 18-55mm lens is enough for u then u can consider D50. but if u plan to change to a better lens might as well get the D70s bcos it oledi comes with a good lens

anyway, if for me a D70s n a SB600/800 is enough liao for me i take more potrait shots than telephoto/makro so 18-70mm is sufficient oledi n i heard some arguments on 18-55mm lens n 18-70mm lens

so how do u wanna compare these 2 lenses? i oso dunno... try la...

well...the simple first, 1 can only reach 55mm(about 82.5mm on a 35mm camera based on nikon 1.5x factor) n another 70mm(about 105mm on a 35mm camera). so 18-70mm can zoom more (should be )

2nd...the min aperture value for 18-70mm is 3.5-4.5
for 18-55mm is 3.5-5.6...in my opinion kinda not so good for makro shots since the min f at 55mm is only 5.6. u have no choice but to have the front n back of the object u wanna take to be in focus a bit rather than throwing everything front n back of the object out of focus. kinda hard to explain actually...have to c more photography books where they teach how to shoot makro at different aperture need some photos to compare oso n of course at 5.6 u have to use a slower shutter speed since the aperture has become smaller (flash oso can la). okla in simple words really need to test the 2 lens then only u know. but 18-55mm is sufficient for normal usage actually

n ferox/cyberkid...u guys sure u wan D50 + 18-200mm VR lens?? both of these combine together can almost buy the D200 (body) liao

hmm...about the close up filter i dunno 18-55mm lens cannot do makro ar?? dunno leh even the panasonic FZ30 i used to use last time where the lens is 35-420mm f2.8-3.6 in a 35mm camera n only equiped with a UV filter oso can do makro liao

hehe...saw the circular polarizer...not bad la the effect make my air liur come out only ok anything else guys??

this have to depend on whether the shop wanna give us reasonable price or not if they keep on putar belit n keep on saying "i only untung sikit-sikit ar" (the most stupid excuse shopkeepers will use ) then most probably cannot make it liao have to buy seperately...

but most probably can get a nice price especially with cyberkid's fren's D200 joining in if they still dun wanna give then nvm la...their loss
