not so expensive lah if wifi not important, for gigabit lan cables are good enough

RM120+ got liao

but if u are heavy downloader and with many home family member using line over cable and wifi

u need rm 400+ router biggrin.gif

make sure have:

1: Gigabit LAN ports (WAN speed 1Gbps+)

2: Wireless AC 5Ghz (AC 1300 or above)

*
dont know if tm will change new router for u but

it's better u go get urself a better router out there

seems like ur router only has 100mbps lan which may give u about 80-90% of 100Mbps at best

just call tm anytime or chat to them in the tm website to open report. they will arrange technician to come to your home. TM will only replace either brand TP-Link or D-Link to you. i have Lucent i240g too but it is not related to the BTU.
You need to upgrade to a better router.

My unifi turbo 500mbps can’t get full speed. some people say that my router RT-AC55UHP maximum only can get 300mbps.

That’s why now I am facing the similar issue like you too. TM was sent technician to my home but he can’t confirm why my line only can get 300mbps. There have many reasons can cause my line can’t get full speed. However, my first step need to do is upgrade router. That’s why Im looking for RT-AC86U in taobao.

see the link here, i am now discussing about buying a cheap Asus router.

Even with cable connection cant go over 300mbps?

Ur router spec looks fine to me

If it was tested with wifi, then yes, u need multiple chain wireless and ur device must have multi chain support wireless ac

If only single chain ac like my one plus 3t, speed will only about 300+mbps cannot go over 400mbps

Check out wireless explaination thread by soonwai. Got well explaination there

You can check at unifi.com coverage check

Key in ur poskod and some address keywords

Pretty sure if ur address on the list, u are unifi ready

Sometime ur actual address might be different form on their list

As for me.. they use lorong instead of Lot

The other way is to check outside ur house, got yellow tripped black fiber cable or not, with TM grey box, if not.. ure not covered

For better speedtest result, you may change the speedtest server to Telekom Malaysia or Time dotcom. You can test it again, ping should be lower down to around 25.
*
I'm interested and waiting for your results

Well I went to the nearest Tmpoint to make a report on missing cover of one of the box-thingie-on-pole because if it's rainy day the rain will drip straight into the box and affects the whole circuit and stability of the internet.

and told them I have no problem continue paying the current monthly subscription which is MYR 18x after SST, provided I get the Turbo-upgrade. Else I would switch to the cheap 100Mbps package.
Of course, you have to be gentle and patient to tell them.

So the customer service lady put me on waiting list after listening to my reports and few days later got the upgrade.
*
wait what?

you can actually talk to them to put u earlier on upgrade turbo?

then, did u receive notification or sms for the upgrade?

Hi, got turbo-ed to 800Mbps, still using old TPLink from tm, AC1200/C5, connected using 5Ghz. constantly getting no more than 150Mbps (Megabits). Feeling weird, cause as i know TPLINK AC 1200 supposes support up to 867Mbps for 5Ghz channel, but i dont even get more than 300Mbps. Anyone? Please advice.

Ac 1200 but 2.4ghz, not yet test 5ghz.

Also not yet try cat6 cable. But dont think got much diff.

Suspect is unifi limitation.
*
u sure ur router is Gigabit WAN and Ethernet? hmm.gif

last time i saw someone own a router with WiFi AC but megabit ethernet,WAN

and that makes him only 90+Mbps at best becoz its WAN only 100Mbps

that router he has kinda weird spec

For your info,

Do only speedtest with following servers

speedtest.net
-telekom Malaysia
-maxis
-iskill KK
-time dot com

Time speedtest

Speedtest tm

Only these can go higher than 300mbps most of time

Most of other malaysia speedtest server sometime only 100+mbps during peak hours
