Study shows that investor lose more staying at sideline waiting for downturn rather than the downturn itself. So it is better to stay invested at all times and ride the ups and down. Market sometimes moves in a direction that you least expected. tongue.gif

For now, only Hwang Select Opportunity. Maybe later will also buy OSK-UOB Emerging Opportunity Unit Trust as a smaller %, e.g. 2/3 in SOF, 1/3 in EOUT. For EPF-funded investments, no bond fund for me, it'd be pointless to withdraw from EPF which yields 5-6% and invest in a non-guaranteed bond fund that returns similar or even lower. doh.gif

Which part of "Value Averaging" that u don't understand? doh.gif

Put RM3K (actually is RM3,060, I wanna put in NET RM3K after SC)
3 months later if made profit e.g. RM3K ==> RM3.1K, I put in RM2.9K
Another 3 months later if RM6K ==> RM6.3K, I put in RM2.7K

and so on

Not sure if this has been discussed before but.. does anyone buy PRS fund?
8% tax for withdrawal once a year sounds painful though, how different is it from typical unit trust funds?

Thinking logical...

Bcos of the tax penalty, most investors would stay invested. Thus, the fund need not maintain too much liquidity (i.e. cash) to meet redemptions, and can invest for the long haul. Plus points. wink.gif

If invest for the long term no need to stress when see red. Instead it is an oppurtunity to buy at great prices.

There are people who panic when they see red, but others rejoice at mega sale when red. If you can do the latter, you would havd better chance to do well over the long term.

If your favorite shop give mega sale, you will sure buy buy buy...... but when come to investment why think the other way?
