Thanks man, appreciate your thoughts. I'm leaning towards OS put the price is a huge setback - and in the US, Optimum us fairly priced amongst its competitors.

Also, new get:
*
same can be said for products like meguiar's/turtlewax ICE though sad.gif

anyways was planning to get that too but took the bite with megs UQW because it's on 20% off. (rm46.4 after discount rofl)
let us know how's that DG AQW biggrin.gif

regarding the wax. yes different purposes. but im sure most sifu here will recommend u that a polish should only polish. wax that only wax. and so on.

there are a LOT of AIO products these days that can perform on par or even better than dedicated products while easily saving a LOT of time smile.gif

1. Clay - Soft99 Clay bar. Try to get the one for White color car. Or if you're willing to spend a little more, get the 3M clay - blue colour in a black tub/container.
3. Sealant - now this is the tricky part. For OTC I would suggest 3M Perfect-it Show Car Paste Wax. But if you're wiling to make an exemption, I strongly suggest getting Duragloss 105 Total Performance Polish. There are a couple of shops around PJ area that sells them. You can find them at Duragloss Malaysia Web.
*
1) to add on a bit, soft99 clay works, and is damn cheap (~rm40)
the only drawback is that it's too gentle for cars that are badly maintained or under heavy usage (like mine sweat.gif) but yea being gentle, chances of you damaging the paint is pretty much zero.

3) TPP out of stock at the moment from duragloss malaysia (i was actually inquiring that before i got my megs ultimate liquid wax lol)

btw Krismas , for megs WB, do i use it full strength or do i need to dilute? and can i use it as an IPA/cleaner after dilution? if so what kinda dilution i should work on?
similar dilution question for APC, what application do i use it with full strength or dilution? (and what dilution ratios?)

I'm no sifu but I'll try to answer hehe...

Never used WB before so unable to comment on the dilution. It is very strong and should not be used on paint. That's the job for APC or degreaser.

As for APC, I use 1:3 for heavy duty cleaning on rims and neglected paint. Dirty tyres may require full strength. For lighter exterior jobs, 1:5 should be sufficient. On the interior I use 1:8, maybe slightly stronger if the stain is not coming out.
*
much thanks for the info.

reason i want to know on the dilution is also because KrisMas demonstrated that WB can be used on paint too, for really damn good cleaning strength. of course, a lot of dilution and have to be quickly wiped/rinsed off.

things like these cut down a LOT of time in cleaning off stubborn stains should the need arises tongue.gif

I use both WB & APC at 1:10. For general maintenance,  I'm with the thinking that better do more passes or spray more product at weaker dilution than using stronger dilution....not taking any unnessesary risks. Megs reco dilution for both is between 1:4 ~ 1:10. When APC at 1:10 doesn't work I change to Megs Super Degreaser, also at 1:10. I only use WB at max dilution 1:4 to clean wheels with lots of accumulated brake dust. For cleaning interiors (plastic, vinyl, leather&fabric) I use APC at 1:20~25...good enough already for most job.

Don't use the WB for wipe down or like IPA. WB contain surfectants that need to be rinse/clean off. Else if it dries, it could leave some whitish haze on the surface that would need to be polished off. Much like what happened to MyWifeCar when using the OPC.

For WB on paint (to remove water spots - yes, I found that WB also works great for decontamination of light water spots), I also normally use 1:10 on WET surface after normal shampoo wash, and follow up again with another shampoo wash afterwards. Redo at same strength if/when required.

And arj, I think maybe you've mistaken the dilution...sounds like those are for OPC instead for Megs APC.
*
thanks for the info.

so just a recap, both APC/WB also you'll NEVER use at full strength, and no matter what they will require dilution of 1:4 at the minimum? (which is also the recommended maximum strength of the products?)

Oh...and Quazacolt, I think I also need to explain a little more regarding Megs All Purpose Cleaner, Super Degreaser & Wheel Brightener. Each product in Megs Detailers range are designed for specific job, namely APC for removal of natural soiling, SD for oil or petrolium based contaminant and WB for brake dust. They work great (at least for me) if used for what they are intended for. Use it for something else...well...they might not work as good or as fast. For example, WB don't work as good against mud or soiling on wheels as that would be the job for APC. But APC won't be able to clean those stubborn brake dust as good or as fast as WB.

I haven't tried any of the two NEAT, if that's what you mean. I had tried them at recommended full strength (1:4) but I found that it's just a waste as they have, so far, performed quite satisfactorily (in my case) at 1:10.
*
that's EXACTLY what i need, much thanks bro notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

i'll give it a go on 1:10 with both APC and WB, if it does the job, all the better on saving product thumbup.gif thumbup.gif (less potential harm too not to mention! biggrin.gif)

will definitely do a bit of self experience/experiment on the APC/WB on wheels as with Sonax's WCE. if anything, i think my wheels are 100% solved or as some people would probably (in fact my work colleagues are already doing it when i show them what i've gotten/getting rofl) criticize me for over-killing the hell out of the whole wheel cleaning business laugh.gif

I also actually wanted to buy RainX but upon reading it, it says to use on interior glass? Isn't it supposed to be used on windscreens to repel and make water bead?
*
you're probably confused with another product of rain-x, their anti fog, which yes you DO wipe it on your glass interior to prevent fogging.

otherwise, regular rain-x is for exterior only for rain repelling/water beading smile.gif

How about Osren? You can get their stuff at Jalan Ipoh - I'm currently using only their Bubble and Wax shampoo, good bang for buck item IMO. Was previously using TW's F21 Car Shampoo, just loved the citrus scent though biggrin.gif
*
haha i'm still on f21, currently on their 2nd bottle ever since i started taking up detailing as my hobby laugh.gif (prior that, either months of no wash, or lol bangla)
still a long way to go on finishing them (and i still got a LOT of TW zip wash and wax, like 2 big bottles + 1 small one free, 1 of which i bought cuz on promotion, buy 1 free 1 smaller LOL) so yea, not looking forward to shampoos for a VERY long time.
http://twitpic.com/cj92ft

same goes for my polishing as my TW polish compound is still full ish as i rarely polish my car.
only TW wheel cleaner/paste wax finishing soon, so i can move on to megs WB/sonax WCE/APC combo brows.gif

oh and for rims, tentatively aiming dodo irongloss sealant, pricing not too steep, and provides decent durability for at least 5-6 months biggrin.gif

Tesco Extra sells F21 car wash for cheaper, about RM28 or less the last time I was there. Ace goes for around RM32 I think? It was my first bottle since my foray into detailing as well so the scent has a bit of nostalgia laugh.gif

i bought mine for cheaper, like 20 or so at parkson:

19.9, free sponge somemore. RRP on TW usa website is 6usd, 6x3 = 18. lol how profit?

I have the TW F21 and the Meg NXT wash.
The F21 is about RM30 and the NXT about RM55.

With the F21 I dilute 30ml to about 3 liters plus of water.
The suds disappears quite fast. Before I finish washing my car the soap water looks like plain water shakehead.gif

With the NXT I dilute 15ml to about 2 liters plus of water.
The suds can last quite long. When I finish washing my car there are still suds in the bucket thumbup.gif
*
eh the f21 im using still holds its suds even after im done car washing. merely just followed it's instructions and putting high pressured stream of water into the bucket.

still would be looking for an upgrade since it doesnt seem to clean as well as i like. or maybe, can use that + a bit of APC mix brows.gif

I bought a large bottle (1.89L I think) of Simple Green APC from Ace Hardware.

I think it is 50+ hmm.gif
*
yeah i have that too, though keeping it for home usage purposes since it seems like it's really strong (though one can argue that you could dilute it more)

i gotten a gallon of megs APC anyways and megs are marketed for car usage so, yea might as well sorta deal tongue.gif

Waking up at 11pm sucks, but at least my brakes fixed, and I manage to visit Osren to finish my detailing essential http://twitpic.com/cvn89t

just left about few items from duragloss/dodojuice brows.gif

but i can already work on the car much better especially with the clay cloth so gonna get some things going this weekend.
awyongcarl just borrowed me his ICE polish/wax too so gonna give that a go, maybe top it off a 2nd layer with my TW paste wax

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1758408/all
the same product that bro Zaypher did not get an answer from and moved on to sonax. although 2 years late, it's a polish + wax AIO tongue.gif
although TW no longer markets it seems? (only can find youtube from TW, can no longer find it's product page) according to bro awyongcarl and zaypher feedbacks, it is damn easy to apply and the only thing that is probably lacking is durability, which should not be an issue if you at least wash/apply your car every 2-3 weeks. (and that's about the durability for this ICE liquid polish (and wax) - 3-5 weeks give/take

TW ICE...I was only able to get it working for 1 week....2 at most....THE MOST over-rated product that I *very much* regretfully purchased cry.gif
*
welp i guess it's OK if you don't need to pay for it eh? rolleyes.gif

hmm i've been thinking, if i use this as a base layer, the hard shell paste wax would share the same durability as it is.
if i use the hard shell paste underneath instead, the micro abrasives that this polish/wax has would most likely screw it over...

LOL?

thing is, most ICE products are still cheaper than megs, and if you compare USA prices, megs can be pretty sad at times. (it's kinda sad how TW Malaysia is following megs in their premium marketing for their ICE lineup sad.gif )
