If i remember correct or maybe the infomation is wrong, average clean bulk is about 0.2kg per week. But TS overall judge your progress by the mirror is the best smile.gif

its called newbie gains. you can easily gain 10-20kg of mass in the first year of training.

after that have fun trying to gain even 5-10lbs of muscle per year.

"10-20kg of mass in the first year of training."?.....
"5-10lbs of muscle per year"?.......
For most weight-gainers, .5 pounds per week would be an even more realistic goal as they reach their genetic limit. Remember that gaining muscle is a long-term project and not something that can be simply turned on.

what im saying is that newbies can gain alot of mass (fat and muscle) during the first year of training since the body is not used to training. i gained around 15kg the first year i trained consistently.
after the initial newbies gains are reaped, its harder to shock the body. its hard for a natty to gain even 5lbs of MUSCLE per year the longer he trains.

and you basically contradicted yourself. 0.5lbs per week for one year is 0.5 x 52 which is 26lbs.

im just saying this because people were surprised to hear you gained 8kg.

but whatever. just post pics.

Kaffatsum,
Are newbie gains same for every individual or do people peak at different gains?

I started at 56kg 179cm and I'm now 66kg after around 7 months of training (Very strength oriented though).

I haven't hit the 15kg mark yet (which seems to be the number most people associate with newbie gains)

Though people start complimenting me only when I hit 66kg when I started emphasizing on building my shoulders though.

Anyway, my goals aren't to become huge like most bodybuilders are, I just wanted to look like a decently built dude. Very interested to focus on strength and martial arts once I hit 70kg.
