QUOTE(SwarmTroll @ Feb 24 2013, 10:27 PM) Is stock samsung browser smoother than chrome? Somehow to me it is. And btw, is there a way to press somethinf that brings u all the way to the top, like how iphone u double tap the top it brings u up. Chrome I never use as I find is laggyUse dolphin if you want such features n is one of my favourite besides boat browser |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 24 2013, 08:05 PM) Erm if you intrapolate the graph to note 2 batt capacity, wouldn't 4.35V have way more charge cycle. I mean to point out the comparison between different max charge voltage impact of battery life, not the absolute valueAnyway if want to do interpolation, note1 battery many user complain their battery fat after only less than 1 year use Also doesn't match the graph on absolute value |

QUOTE(kevintth @ Feb 24 2013, 07:23 PM) nop.. bro before this i was using Galaxy W im sure S2 is the same.... .the phone designed to have 3 partitions. One is system memory, one is internal SD (internal memory) another is External. So when use App2sd ... it indeed move to SD but it is internal SD from system memory, the phone was configured the other way round. Usually SD is for external... dunno why stupid Sammy set it that way lol... not very understand what you talking but I saw my friend, relative s2 and note once they upgrade to ICS, they still can move to sdcard, but is move to internal storage (maybe the phone storage split into 2, quite confusing) |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 24 2013, 11:09 PM) I mean to point out the comparison between different max charge voltage impact of battery life, not the absolute value Yes i know that the graph show the difference of the max Charge voltage effect. But the effect differs for different size battery. Anyway if want to do interpolation, note1 battery many user complain their battery fat after only less than 1 year use Also doesn't match the graph on absolute value Dunno about note 1 cos i dun use or follow it, but battery becoming fat is not conclusive to blame it on the voltage. I dunno where is the source of the graph or if it is applicable to the current battery in our note 2 so no comment on that. |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 24 2013, 11:20 PM) Yes i know that the graph show the difference of the max Charge voltage effect. But the effect differs for different size battery. The graph represents li ion battery in general as note2 as well as most phone using li ion. So it is validDunno about note 1 cos i dun use or follow it, but battery becoming fat is not conclusive to blame it on the voltage. I dunno where is the source of the graph or if it is applicable to the current battery in our note 2 so no comment on that. Only difference between different brand battery is the cell quality but even if battery quality is good, will have similar charge cycle reduction as lousy quality ones. Just maybe not so severe drop I know note1 issues cuz many ppl buy from me shows me their bloated battery. Not a few cases. A lot of them. And most I ask use less or about 1 year Fat battery points to li ion cells already being damaged by over charging. This is mainly due to the ic that supposed to protect that cell becomes defect after certain period of usage. With no ic regulating the charging, the cell bloats Now why the ic failed? I don't know. Can be the ic quality and note1 specific issue. But pumping 4.35v will stress the ic more than 4.2v in principle (of course if note2 use much better quality ic will have less problems) Actually when I started the question , I just want to know if note2 battery technology already taken a big leap compare to note1 that now Samsung allows it to be charged to 4.35v or there is no actual leap in technology, just that Samsung wants to boost battery life (4.35v will give you better battery life compare to 4.2v) in short term to show note2 is great but later we will see faster defect I just curious if anyone knows |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 24 2013, 11:46 PM) The graph represents li ion battery in general as note2 as well as most phone using li ion. So it is valid My very uninformed answer is that Samsung is probably not the only one with >4.2V charging for the latest Li Ions. I was searching out 18650 cells a few weeks back, and there are some which charge at 4.35V as well. So it could be that the latest charging designs call for input voltages up to 4.35V, which might mean that the cells are designed to those parameters.Only difference between different brand battery is the cell quality but even if battery quality is good, will have similar charge cycle reduction as lousy quality ones. Even note2 if you have the right charger can go up to 4.4v as well . Will get even better battery life but consequences is ...... will die faster |

I guess you won't expect tot31 since he charges only every 2 days. |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 25 2013, 12:11 AM) Lol. Can maaaa....since 4.3V+ will only give 200 cycles .... 180days, 6months +I just trigger the discussion because a bit curious only on battery tech I can't forecast when note2 battery will die. Haha Anyway, since we're on the 180days subject, any victims of SDS for GN2? There could have been 1 or 2 already in the last couple of thread versions. |

There could have been 1 or 2 already in the last couple of thread versions. Most likely they use some 18650 cell May not come from Samsung Again that graph main purpose to show the effect of higher charging voltage impact relative to lower ones Don't take the numbers on absolute terms Will be interesting to see how would note2 (4.35v) compare to note1 (4.2v) in terms of battery life This post has been edited by brotan: Feb 25 2013, 12:33 AM |

Note 8.0 is somewhat fugly IMHO
![]() Some things don't scale well, eg Vios being a compressed Altis being a compressed Camry. |

All, I made a table at the end of post #4 to depict how phone architecture works. This will be expanded into a meatier write up of rooting and flashing suitable for noobs and then some.
I invite expert comment whether I'm correct or not, and how it can be improved. I know I'm not entirely clear on the Radio details, but I should be correct (IMHO) about the rest. |

Are you guys aware of the ability to disable the native apps in note 2. Like chat on or learning hub or game hub. Just. Informing ya. Chill
