When is the delivery date?
- 1st batch: 4th march onwards. (Around 100 units)
QUOTE(lucifal @ Feb 14 2013, 11:24 AM)
Just for your information, most dealers will be getting showroom cars around end February. The 1st batch to be delivered around March. Rumors are some might get their cars around End Feb or early march.
Other than that, unless bookings went sky high, first 5-10 bookings should be deliverable within march. Those who missed might need to wait till May/June for the 2nd batch. However, all this are still pure speculation. I would suggest those who wants the car booked first then cancel if you dislike the car after test drive since its 100% refundable (unless you got your loan approved and ready).

- 2nd batch: eta may 2013
QUOTE(motortrader)
Speaking to the media after the launch, Dato’ Ben Yeoh, MD of Bermaz Motor, said that the order bank for the new Mazda6 has been so great that all the units committed for 2013 are already sold. “We would like to sell more but for now, I have to say that the AP limitations control the number of cars Prima Merdu can import from Japan,” he explained but declined to give a specific number.

This car which will deliver in Mac is 2012 made or 2013 made?
If 2012 made, how much discount Mazda will give to potential customers?

its new car even though its made in 2012, how much discount is depend how close you are with SA.
as of what i know, dealer profit margin isn't that high too.

If 1st batch is 2012 made models without any discounts, better wait for 2013 to come. Trade in value will differ around 10K in future unless plan to use that car for more than 10 years then it will make no different.

Usually cars will have a nameplate, either in the engine compartment or at the door sill

Thats where they have the manufacturing date, and VIN number

Something like this (I just simply googled up an example);

Admin should give us some "grace period" to make announcement in previous thread before moving it to car club. I guess some "lost" in the "fast and furious" section.

So sad. I might change this thread to a m6 club. And open the old thread v1. But then admin might close v1 because its already a v2.

Regarding boring or no more hype, ive already felt that 1 month ago becoz we kept adoring it from beginning. But maybe after we get the car, it might change our heart again back to the first love sight. maybe i shouldnt apply the car loan first. Too eager to settle everything, now no more to do and just boring to wait. but anyway, any new news? I just cant wait to get the car anymore.

Not that it's no more hype, just that we had seen the car and know the specs and equipments about it, so just eagerly awaiting its arrival.

Usually apply loan early to make LOU & get car allocation.
Usually bank loan application approval just for 1 month. However, let say u get a car after that it is negotiable to get same rate for the same loan. No need fill new form.
It's car dealer & bank job.

Unless there is drastic change of interest rate & rules by BNM, the time U get ur car which few months later. Then need to reapply loan. However current interest rate look stable for few years. Not something like in 1998 recession where interest rate very high like yo-yo around 4-10% pa.

The range is 2.35-2.55% for 9 years.
But I dont know whether Mazda can get below 2.40%. Average 2.45% for imported cars. But if buy Honda or Toyota can easily get 2.35% bcoz lower risk to bank due to high resale value.

Last year 2.1%, 1.98% etc just for promotion for certain period especially if u didnt take any discount.

I have also test drive the car at glenmarie.
Car have lag when you floor the pedal, but how many will floor the pedal during normal driving. Handling is good. But interior so so only. Lcd too small...
Boot big because they remove the spare tyre.
Front cabin is small but rear cabin is very roomy.

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Feb 20 2013, 04:17 PM)
Those who are interested to view the car in person. It's available for viewing at Mazda PJ along federal highway.

2 sedans (meteor gray/soul red) and one touring (soul red) available for viewing.

I had gone through the test drive again. This time with 30min on the road, I tested its acceleration at high way, it can easily reach 100 in 8sec. Its gearbox match well with its engine and generate nice Pickup. Tried the paddle shifter as well, good.

City drive it comes with low rpm and provide very quite cabin. The 2 stage performance really confuse people by giving underpowered picture. If you press harder, over 3krpm, it doesn't move up the needle gentlely, its drastically.

Believe it with your own try. It won't be so underpowered like people said, first try, yes. After adapt to it, you will know this is Japan conti, not Korean car.

So, the auto folding some of you were referring to is when the car is locked and it autofolds?

or to confirm if powered folding mirrors available on both trims (2.0 and 2.5)?

i can assure you that there is electric power folding. There is a knob at the right side where u can switch it to fold the side mirrors.

Let's don't confuse with auto folding and electric folding. I'm sure there is electric folding, but not sure about auto folding. Anyway, when i test drive the car, the side mirror didn't auto fold when i switch off the engine.

No auto fold no prob. At least got electric fold is enough for me. So far, im quite satisfied with my 2.0. I dont care if it underpower becoz its still powerful than my myvi. The only thing i care now wether my size can fit in or not. Hehe.

I tested both 2.0L and 2.5L. Finally booked the 2.0L.
2.0L not really that empty seriously. Very well specced compared to most Japan D-segment like accord and camry.
Things like reverse camera, electric leather seat with memory, cruise control, bluetooth, and you name it. All standard on the 2.0L.
Not to mention 2.0L drive more comfy due to its small wheel, performance is adequate, interior quality are top notch, NVH is great, fit and finish are the best against its other competitors.

And yeah, I saw one Meteor Gray M6 at bandar puteri area, not with any test drive or number sticker at the back. Someone got his car already?

For me it quite a complete package for a 2.0. The specs level my expectation. U cant get anything near to other 2.0 d segment. But it cant compete with the k5 specs to offer. It got all the basics such as abs, vsc, etc, 6 airbags, memory electric chair, lether seat like 2.5, tft screen with camera. Ive mention this b4 actually. Theres no indication for me to get a 2.5 except the HID and onboard gps. LOL. Ive seen many saying 2.0 is kosong. Initially when the 2.5 rumour specs come out i thought 2.0 will be kosong also. I was so afraid that there would only be 2 airbags, 1 muffler, no push start button, no reverse camera,no electric power chair and the worst no cruz control! Almost all that i expect not to have in a 2.0 that time was wrong. We still got many gadgets! I was hoping to get the MRCC. But both wont come with it.

Some said their teana was great. I do agree that teana is comfy and i do test them. but most of their top gadget only available on their 2.5 and 3.5v.

For 508 1.6. To compare with m6 2.0 we must compare with The standard version 1.6. the standard spec do comes with some gadgets but the differences from the premium version was a lot and i rather get the premium one and that will be over my limit.

Camry 2.0? Dont want to compare. Enuf said.

Mondeo? Dont know when will come. 2020?

Accord 2013 2.0 might the only contender here.

Ya, my thoughts were the same but it still don't feel like 8s to me, more like 8++. Biggest downside to this car is the torque not kicking in as quickly when you need to overtake.

2nd con is the omission of a spare tyre. Owners who probably won't go into any industrial estate or rough roads won't have an issue.

If someone has the time, test drive the car in heavy rain and off the radio. Then see how bad the noise is, next try it with the audio on and see if it masks away the sounds. Oh one of you might want to bring a USB filled with music to see how the player handle the music formats. Try mp3, mp4 and see if it plays them. Possibly also ask the salesperson to pair your iPhone or android phone to the car Bluetooth to see if there are any issues.

Interesting ......

Can you give some guidelines how to measure/gauge this?

Easy, it won't sound like you are under a zinc roof. It will still be loud but bearable. When the music is on, you can actually enjoy the music and barely notice the rain like when you are alone in a small hotel room.

If you have experience driving Japanese or protons or p2 , you will know what i mean by zinc roof

That probably was me, Im tested M6 2.5L (Meteor Grey) this non at PJ branch.

Im happy with overall test drive. Some said this car is bit sluggish, Passat will win down the road. I'm agree, but to me this M6 is really good enough for me interm of outlook, internal design, comfort & space & power. I had even tested the manual shifter, it work great to me too, I does feel the pulling power, and I do like the engine sound.

Interior, to be honest it does not feel that premium compare with 508, Mercedes & BMW. But I do fell the comfort especially the leather seat and soft lether dash.

If Bermaz bring in the 8' display LED and Naz knob, then I will be damn happy rclxm9.gif

Any, I d logged this down. It yes to me.

No i wont. Coz my myvi will also lose resale value. Thus better for me not to lose rv and buy the car with current price. Nway, car price wont reduce drastically but rv will drop like shit. Perception is everywhere. The 2nd hand car dealer cant afford to lose their bussiness rite? Thus rv will drop like shit in order to prevent loses if the car not sold that year. Unless i sell my myvi to an individual. Thats different story right

Was actually went to test drive the 2.5L again at Puchong branch, it is raining that time. Something to share here.

1. Raining? No worry, confirm no sound from the roof. I can only hear water droplets sound from the windscreen.

2. Soul red paint actually more expensive than any other colors. (3 layers paint, according to SA)

3. Engine roaring sound (2.5L) come from speakers, just like BMW M5.

4. Manually fold side mirror, electrically. (Twist the knob all the way up)

5. Bose sound system on the 2.5L is not any better than 2.0L. (Tested with USB, MP3 format)

6. Voice comment and navigation are accurate.

7. Performance is there (2.5L), but I feel 2.0L drive more smoother and more comfy.

Should use 320d's price. 238k is for 320i and there are no 320i CBU during launch.

Should be 249k from 269k, for 320d.

Soul Red is specially design for Mazda 6, its signature colour. It is more expensive, but we do not need to top up any price for that colour.

Seriously, you should worry if you need to always drive at construction site or non-tar road. Otherwise, it's hardly your tyre will burst or torn unless you drive over a wood or big hole at high speed. Most typical puncture cases can be repaired using tyre repair kit.

Better check with the SA.
Else you won't enjoy your music.
Imagine how are you going to listen to classical if you keep hearing the engine roaring.

ya, the 2.0 spec in malaysia actually is gud enough for me , juz the headlight problem ....==

I believe just change to some white-ish halogen bulb will do, since it already has projector housing.

As for spare tire, my SA said if people really complaint about it, they will consider having spare tire on the following batch.

Lol. Today I actually tried to remove all the tray that hold the tire inflator and there are actually a slot for spare tire.
However, I do agreed someone said, try to think positively, you do not need a spare tire that often. Just drive like a boss and ask for someone else settle everything for ya in case of any critical situation.

Those who test driven the car, inside the cabin really got artificial/synthesized engine sound?

Did any of the reputable car reviews highlight this?

Seriously I can't tell where is the sound come from.
My SA mentioned that the speakers does produce engine sound, very minimum, it only add some "sound effect" to the original engine sound.
Engine sound can't be hear when you listen your music loudly. Also, you may still enjoy your classical music with that fantastic sound system.

I prefer the 2.5 lamps though and added drl, but subject to availability of oem parts and price.
Aftermarket ones are ez to source which is why ppl buy it. If install those 4300K xenons and adjustment done correctly, its the same as those ori lamps.

So those collecting their car please spot for all the panels for overly big gaps too.

Cx5? doesnt it come with bi-xenons? no reason to change unless the owner wants a nicer drl, coz the ori drl looks bad.
What I meant earlier was depending on whether we can source an oem 2.5 lamp at a good price, that will be nice, looks ori.
If not it will be to the aftermarket shops to change just the lighting on 2.0 "not so nice lamp" haha.

Just went for test drive with the 2.5L at Bermaz PJ.

In terms on power delivery, like many other have said, if you press on the pedal and take it above 3k rpm you'd feel the torque and power kicking in. Else it's a great cruiser. With such low revs, it's bound to be fuel efficient. I also like the RVM system it's very useful. LDW would be useful in highway driving. Else I find it annoying for city driving. Any lane it crosses also got warning.

I must highlight that the cabin sound insulation is very good. Outside the dealership there was this decorative fan blowing thingy... And it was really loud when I opened the sunroof. But when I closed it, can only hear a slight hint of the fan in cabin.

The steering and seating position is very ergonomic. From outside you will notice that it has a pretty long hood, you'd expect to have difficulty viewing the front if you. But once seated inside, the field of view is just perfect. You won't have difficulties manoeuvring this big car around.

Hold the steering at 3-9 position while driving and it gives you good control of the car. Very nice grip. The leather cushion is of course plush and comfortable.

Cabin finish is something you'd find similar to an Audi. Didn't try the navigation. Briefly tested the speaker system only, so no comment. The passenger seats are very spacious. Ample leg room and I think even with 4 adult passengers behind, they won't find it too cramped. I think this is mainly because the center passenger seat isn't raised too high. Of course it's just perfect with 3 passengers.

For boot space, it is insanely huge and we all know why. Can easily smuggle 2 adults and 3 kids cross border. XD just jk

Overall, really impressed with the car. It's feels like a premium luxury car. The car matched with soul red is absolutely perfect, it makes anyone who looks at it, ADMIRE it. There are not many cars out there that can give you that impression. It highlights the curves and trim lines of the car.

After viewing the soul red M6 in person... The wait is killing me!!!

SA told me for Bermaz PJ, first batch delivery will take place March 13 ahead of official launch. Those who's on their first batch... Super jealous of you!!!

SA let me take photos of the wagon and sedan soul red in their training Center. Will share with you all when I have access to a computer.

Forgotten to write about ride comfort.

Through the standard test drive route along federal highway and inner roads, road conditions are ideal to test ride comfort. With the subpar road conditions along the way, the 2.5 with 19" rims handled really well. No harsh bumps felt through the steering. I've not tested the 2.0 on 17" though.

Yes, more or less the exact same thing.
Not to mention, Nissan claim that the Teana is the first D-segments that offer such features, even their advertisement mention that.
I'm pissed. But soon I realized they are actually telling the truth, because Mazda 6 haven't launch yet. sad.gif

Teana is just rubbish since beginning i step at tanchong dealer branch. When i ask specs for 2.0, show me the 2.5 version one. Then i need to ask specifically is this available, is that available. NON of the specs i ask is available on a 2.0. Definitely layan me like so so when they saw me driving myvi. U cant get all the features gadget in a 2.0 version. Seats are not leather. No cruz control, 2 airbags, no traction control no vsc. All those things required a premium price.

I just realised, there is no black m6 for malaysian. I wonder why. Gray looks great. More executive feels. I like white. Looks larger, sporty, and young.

For meteor gray i think it's more subtle and elegant/luxurious feel.

For white it does should look bigger and sporty. But for me, white/black if dirty very obvious.

For soul red more aggressive and is sportier. Highlights the curves of the body.

White is hard to take care. But isnt that the purpose of owning a mazda 6 is all about. Polishing everyweek. But with the help of tribos application, we just need an alkaline shampoo or clean water. Hehe

All the colour available suit this car, because it has most sleek design. No need to match. It had perfect match and it turn people heads, a lot.

The eta is getting longer and longer. Earlier mention to us end of february. Then early march. Then middle of the march. As what i said earlier, why dont let us have the car during launch, and invite us to the launch day and we recieve the replica car key at the stage from mr PM

Bro, I think Silver is even more plain, very conservative colour. The meteor grey gives me an elegant impression. Like those BMW 3er E90/BMW 5er E60/F10. They were one of the earlier ones who marketed this colour (similar).

Well, that's how a fanboy will feel and respond... tongue.gif

"8+ sec acceleration from 0-100" Erm... I think that's the best case scenario, on paper always exaggerated vs normal roads/normal condition. I'd take the performance specs on a sheet with a grain on salt. They always look good...

Many current BMW/MB/AUDI/VW cars all are turbocharged... Engine performance behaves very differently. Another important factor to consider is power-to-weight ratio.

I simple respect each and every thread that they created. Camry i don't like but I don't go their thread and talk in this way.

Before saying one car is underpowered, make sure it is really underpowered. Sluggish might caused by engine performance or tunning system. Skyactive is best among Japan car, earthdream is the only challenger for this car.

He somore said this car would consumr high FC because need to floor pedal. Isn't all these are pointed to Korea car which is famous in high FC. Lol

No la. Ive fallen i love so many times. Similar to girls. Once ive found the true love, i love her till the end. Hehe. Nway with the help of tribos, car exterior is easy to mantaince. I might just need some detailer to put on film at the front hood, front bumper, headlights, and rear boot and door handles to prevent scratches.

8+ sec is consider very quick actually.
Even VW 1.4TSI engine with DSG gearbox doing 8.3sec from 0-100. Pug 1.6 turbo doing 9+ sec.
Without turbo, we (NA) might not feel the push at the back, doesn't mean we are any slower than those turbocharged vehicles.

You are not recommended to wax or polish your beloved M6. So, you might waste your one year membership.
Car wash company like CARs, they provide huge discount for their members upon wax and polish, save a lot.
For wash and vacuum only, you only save a few bucks.

dont matter, in Malaysia, Japanese is always a few step behind Orang Putih, that is why orang putih car still consider premium car.

Ford on the other hand already have this.

Anyway for Tan Chong to be first is a very important moment for them, because their company always comes last. So big fuss for them on a small little BLIS.

As long as Camry or Accord dont have. Tan Chong and their sales team will be very proud.

Mazda on the other hand is a late comer, but a strong one. People jealous when they see others buy Mazda, cause they bought the wrong car at the wrong time. Human mah, we are always jealous about other people.

Similar to Taiwanese car, luxgen.

It's still ok if you do left turning but kind of weird of you do right turn because the display is at the middle.

I believe 2.0 should be located at PJ branch for stuff training.

I'm sure bro. I saw this car from Wed (20/02/2013) to Fri (22/02/2013). I tested this car at 21/02/2013, went back there at 22/02/2013 and I still saw the car.

Bro, I think Silver is even more plain, very conservative colour. The meteor grey gives me an elegant impression. Like those BMW 3er E90/BMW 5er E60/F10. They were one of the earlier ones who marketed this colour (similar).
*
Probably u are right, but when I looked at the meteor grey on M6, it just not that metallic / glossy compare with soul red and BMW grey colour.
Not sure probably just me or perhaps the cloudy weather as well.

There you go. Credited to Paultan.
I'm sure the reflection on Meteor Grey will surpass Soul Red anytime, just like a mirror. Red and White give less reflection in my opinion.

i went to the glenmarie branch today, only 2.5 available for test drive but i didnt test it.....queue so long. the SA told me 2.0 was sent for staff training.

i sat in the car and admire the gadgets and build quality. Everything is nicely done in the car, except the lacking spare tyre and i notice the rear passenger roof is low or the seats are high? my head is touching the roof and im only 173cm tall.

This reviewer had no complaints about the engine power for the 2.5 gasoline. Even though it lacks behind some other competitors. He highlighted its straight line acceleration was very good.

Yeah, I'd like to have that duck spoiler too. In black on the soul red. thumbup.gif The ori one quite expensive. USD300+

And to install not entirely easy and need to drill holes.

I forgot to ask my SA abt the fuel grade the Skyactiv engine use. As u all know, this engine has the world highest compression ratio which usually associated with high octane fuel.

I hope it is not Ron97 all the way though.

Irrespective of anything, I am getting angau already waiting for my Red Mazda6 to arrive!

I don't trust SA, I would only believe with my own eye when the car arriving on time. Estimated early match to get the car due to early booking.

If you book now, it is 5 months waiting period. Pj SA told me. Not harm for you to book both place, fully refund if the usj SA lie to you.

If the SA can't deliver to me a week before launching date, I will buy conti anytime.

I have been waiting this car for quite some time, if I still need to wait, meaning SA didn't do his homework, he promise me to get car before launching, I shall wait and see.

This car is going hot sell for sure!
Are you sure? That's what ppl said when the previous generation Mazda 6 was launched and we all know the results now right? At 160K for a 2.0L and 190K for a 2.5L im quite sure Bermaz isnt expecting 'hot sales'. Even with the launch of the new M6, the best sellers will still be the Camry and Teana that is until the new Accord with the Earth Dreams engine is launched. Although i dont like the design of new Accord but Malaysians in general are still very much loyal followers of Toyota & Honda and it will be for some time. Plus with the expected pricing of the high spec 2.0L Accord at <155K, I predict the Accord and Camry will be neck to neck in sales then with the Teana a close 3rd.

Bermaz should have launched the car early Jan to take advantage of the new year and Chinese New Year period. That would have boosted sales and improved public perception. I think launching in March isnt a good move since news is already out in the market about the upcoming Accord. Now even Nissan has launched a facelifted version of their Teana which again will boost numbers.

There will be buyers for the new Mazda 6 but sadly with this kind of pricing, Bermaz have shot themselves in the foot...again.

First batch people getting their car around 4-5 march 2013.
When it comes to booking numbers, remove about 40% and ull get the actual number who might actually buy the car in the end. biggrin.gif

If the SA can't deliver to me a week before launching date, I will buy conti anytime.

I have been waiting this car for quite some time, if I still need to wait, meaning SA didn't do his homework, he promise me to get car before launching, I shall wait and see.
Which conti?

Tough to say how the new Mazda 6 will perform. But I think the 2.0L version is at least priced in a more reasonable region given the specifications offered.

I don't think the 2.5L version will be a hot sell but at least they can probably push some numbers with the 2.0L version. Their immediate goal at least in my opinion, should be to first surpass the sales of the P508 or Passat. The P508 will be an easier number to beat followed by the Passat.

Test drove the 2.5 yesterday, like many others said before me, you can tell it has enough power underneath it.

Then tested the 2.0 cx-5 (M6 2.0 not available at PJ branch), really potong stim, really underpowered and SA tried to console me by saying m6 2.0 is lighter and slightly higher power output.

Regarding the outlook, it's plainer than expected, perhaps due to meteor gray color, and my partner was saying it doesn't stand out and no many would look at it on the road sad.gif

And with regards to the cavity in the boot, the SA said it's not big enough to fit in a spare, is it right ?

No la. SA blufing on u. He doest know anything. Spare tire available for australian like many other forumers stated. Not because it so big it cant fit. U cant compare a sedan with suv. Similarly comparing crv with an accord. 2 different segment eventhough the engine is similar. Most review stated 2.0 outperform 2.5 in terms of smoothness, transmission.

But it would be ideal to test drive the 2.0 smile.gif

Hi All,
I'm new here.
Booked mine from Bermaz PJ (2.5 meteor Grey). Loan approved RHB 2.37 (7 years).

Test drive the 2.5 yesterday. Everything is great except 1 thing which is not up to my expectation - the pick up power that I expecting from the 2.5 engine. Sorry this is my first time to own the D segment car. Is this the characteristic of the D segment car? I am comparing the feel with my Peugeot 308 (1.6 turbo). The adrenaline of the pick up is not there? Didn't manage to test the power in high speed as the traffic is quite heavy during the testing.

Another issue is the synthesize engine sound from the speaker. To me I dont like it. I like to enjoy the quietness during the driving. The SA guaranteed me that the sound can be deactivated. Hope this is true?

Hv any of you compared this M6 with the Passat (sport) & 508 in term of pick up? Any how I dont like the Passat look. As for the 508, I dont want double trouble when come to parts & problem as I hv 308 already.

Wife & kids sit at the back like the comfort & space! The kids been noon stop asking why Papa cant take home the test unit! smile.gif

Your current car has turbo, you're used to the feeling of getting pushed into your seat. The characteristic you felt is not based on the segment of the car, but the engine of the car. Turbo vs NA (normally aspirated). Torque is felt on a turbo engine at a much lower rpm than an NA powered car. Your 308 1.6 Turbo already makes 240 Nm but this new Mazda6 2.5 only pushes out 250Nm. Your 308 is lighter than the M6 too. For the Passat 1.8TSI which is also turbocharged, you can get full 250Nm torque at an even lower RPM, just from 1500RPM onwards (almost like Diesel engine performance). Acceleration on the Passat will definitely feel more "powerful" than the Mazda 6 and even the 308 Turbo.

You will have the drive the 2.5 at least 3250rpm and above to feel full 250Nm torque else like many have said, it feels underpowered.

Too bad in malaysia don't have the diesel variant, else it'd be perfect! STKM.

So again the comparison between NA and Turbo. Forced induction win hands down in term of initial acceleration.
I myself booked the 2.0L and I know it is gonna be slower than my current ride (FD2). But I just like its comfy, smoothness, refinement, fit and finish, etc.
Ask yourself about your priorities. If space and comfort are your pick, Mazda 6 is your best choice, despite any other Korean car.
Or you might just listen to your wife and kids. rolleyes.gif

I actually spoke to a few friends who aren't car kakis. I even showed them the brochure. They like how the car looks but when they looked at the price. The common thing they all said was... 160k for a Mazda? That's too much to pay!

I guess it all depends on what angle you want to look at when buying this car.

Anyway, I was thinking of doing another test drive soon. Maybe some of you guys like to meet up and go take a look and we can compare some notes.

To ensure you are not regret on this car, test drive few more times, go federal highway and press harder. You will know its tuning system Is very suitable for fuel efficiency.

It's better to find passat or pug friend to race with you down the road. So you will know laugh.gif

I doubt I will ever get those cars now that I've driven D-segment. C-segment just too small with a family.

If I were to change in 4/5 years time, it would have to be an SUV such as the X3 or Q5, if not then a 5 series/E class. If I can't afford it by then, I would just maintain and get another Passat or something similar.

Bro, tq for the technical explanation. I'm not the technical guy. Make decision base on feel good of the drive & look of the car. Guess now no need waste time go test drive the Passat & 508 la wink.gif

The verdict is definitely M6 bro. Agreed with U. The feeling of the car is great. Now is the matter of when is the delivery unsure.gif

Absolutely, was eyeing the M6 for quite some time and F30 look too small for me now. My initial plan was F30 actually.

Hi Neo, same to me too. Was eyeing F30 last year. And pulled me off caused by their QC. And been waiting for this M6 since October (I had my booking on Oct).

Hey you clash with my colour  biggrin.gif

To ensure you are not regret on this car, test drive few more times, go federal highway and press harder. You will know its tuning system Is very suitable for fuel efficiency.

It's better to find passat or pug friend to race with you down the road. So you will know  laugh.gif

Good choice of colour bro. At first I booked white. But after see the actual car. I just love the crome lining contrast with grey colour.

Will get my wife to drive the 308 & I drive the M6 to race!

who cares about high sale..
im glad it only 500.. baru exclusive..  brows.gif  brows.gif
KEKEKEKE.. both i want free..  brows.gif  brows.gif
thats is future.. no one can predict. if PR lose, we will still have low price car with our NAP by BN gov. the only thing now is my MYVI will also lose RV after PRU. thus its better to own and trade in now. U cant expect our bank interest would be the same either.. no harm of selling the car now near PRU. they wont lose anything. the only one losing are, 2ndhand car dealer and those who bought it earlier with high tax.. thats all..

TQ Mr President. no lah. 308 is wife's ride. Replacing my Vios of 9 yrs!

Price tag at RM190k for 2.5L is hard to compete with the local CKD D segment cars, e.g. Teana 2.5 V6 facelifted - black interior 173K + 0% interest for the first year.

I guess bermaz really put too high hope on this... I would hold first if going for 2.5, they will give some discounts once sales slow down....

anyway, M6 is still eye-catching car in the current market.....

Bro, are you selling your 308T for the M6 or are you buying as a new car entirely? How much did they offer to take in your 308T for if you are trading in?

Same here as I quite disappointed with the Bermaz pricing. But me have been searching for the right D segment car for the past 2 years. None hv convinced me to buy but this M6 did. Of course when U compare the price with Teana / Camry U will feel the pain. But I cant imagine myself to drive the 'Uncle Look' car lo. So dont compare la. Go for it if U love it & can afford it more importantly. Is like when U know U met ur wife brows.gif

600km for full tank is not good? Im quite surprise. Enlighten me plz what should be the milage
*
Base on this data, it is 20 cent / km for K5. If the M6 FC claim is correct (8L/100km) for 2.5. Then it is 16 cents/km. For 2.0 it will be 6L/100 so it is 0.12cents/km. Anyway it is depend very much on one driving style lah. If not mistaken, CX5 kaki is doing around 650 - 700KM for full tank.

At first glance, it is no more costlier than my previous Corolla Altis, at least for the 1st 2 service. Once it hits 30k, the prices are quite comparable to a continental such as a Golf TSI. I haven't done my Passat service yet so I can't comment if in the long term the prices are similar or cheaper. I know sleepy has a PUG508, if he can come here and comment on his service prices, then we have something usable to compare it against.

I just done my normal service for my vios. Change full synthetic oil 4L & oil filter. That cost me around RM310. So the M6 service is reasonable?
Hw come the cost for 5 year is lower for 2.5 version?

If compare the RV, civic in the c-segment is very stiff especially 2L one is still hot in market. Current asking price around 80-90k for 5-6 years old.. Just traded mine due to overseas posting...

Bro, those periodic costs are just another of those 'gimmicks' that salesmen use to try and show that their car is affordable. Most cars would have roughly similiar periodic maintenance values unless ure refering to those in the higher brackets. The real cost comes when you need to replace major parts due tow wear & tear. Durability and cost of parts are the ones that determine your overall service cost. Just look at Peugeot. Their periodic servicing is reasonable but wait till you start replacing major parts in a couple of years. Then ull see the 'real' cost.

Sold off last April. I traded it in for my new car but got them to register a KL plate. Easy enough. Dealers in KL were only offering me me around 34K that time. So getting an extra 4K in Ipoh was well worth it.

Gotta be sure la bro. Most of the advertised figures you will never achieve and most are using combined cycle. For D segment cars, ull get good FC on highway drives but much higher FC in city driving. U'll find a big difference compared to your Vios so be prepared.

So u hv to drive down to Ipoh to look for dealer?
Last year June the dealer quoted me 40k. But in Recent feb only 31k. It is huge value dropped. I expect it around 35k. Dealer claim that the new Almera has caused the drop of vios value.

Found some very interesting information about the new Mazda 6, it's for the US model but a lot of the same information would probably apply here as well.

Service Interval (US): Every 12000km

Engine oil requirements: 4.2L (2.0 Skyactiv G) / 4.5L (2.5 Skyactiv G)

Recommended engine oil: Castrol 0w20 / 5w30, they will probably use 5w40 here because of our climate

Engine oil prices: RM250 ~ RM280 (5L required for both engine types)

Tire prices: 19inch 225/45R19 - Approximately RM950 ~ RM1200 per piece, 17 inch is approximately half of that.

Tire pressure recommendation: 33psi front & back (up to 3 people)
Tire pressure recoomendation: 36psi front & 46psi back (full load)

Fuel Tank Capacity: 62L
Headlight high beam (halogen): HB3
Headlight low beam (halogen): H11
Headlight HID: D4S

How about starting a new poll or thread specifically for this. Hehe.

Like what i mention earlier in this thread, theres no harm of waiting. But the next batch would be 5 months later. And futhermore, alot of new models and facelifts will come out.

But for me, ill buy it now.
Be in mind what lucifal has said b4.

QUOTE(lucifal @ Feb 14 2013 @ 11:24 AM))
Just for your information, most dealers will be getting showroom cars around end February. The 1st batch to be delivered around March. Rumors are some might get their cars around End Feb or early march.

Other than that, unless bookings went sky high, first 5-10 bookings should be deliverable within march. Those who missed might need to wait till May/June for the 2nd batch. However, all this are still pure speculation. I would suggest those who wants the car booked first then cancel if you dislike the car after test drive since its 100% refundable (unless you got your loan approved and ready

This Mazda 6 2.0L/2.5L is looking to be a more an more expensive car to buy.

Tires if replace - easily 2 to 3k there coz rims may have to change also right?
Spare tire to fit in boot cavity - RM400+
DRL lights - RM600+
OEM headlights replacement - easily 3k
Bulb replacement - easily RM200 to RM300
Windshield insurance - another RM400 ~ RM600

Once you add all that up, I dunno if it's even considered worth buying or not already.

DRL - maybe sometimes, not now
OEM headlights - only replace it when warranty finish
bulb - thats future.
winshield insurance - common for it to be 400 + on any D seg car right?

Tires - this one applies to 2.5L owners. 2.0L owners not so teruk
DRL - Sometime in the future means you still going to spend. Just how good is the DRL quality is the only question and that's related to price. Got cheap China rip-offs and there's the expensive German quality lighting.
Spare Tire - Can don't bother if you don't want. But if the tire repair kit doesn't work, then you not only waste time, you also waste money calling toll truck.
OEM headlights - there's no warranty void if you replace this and no cost if you don't bother and live with the current headlamps. If you replace the 2.0L headlights with 2.5L OEM headlights, there should be no issues. So you still looking to pay at least 3k here. On the bright side of things, you no longer have to worry about DRL since this comes together with it.
Bulb - only if you want to change color then you spend to change
Windshield insurance - just a guide, but I paid RM700 for mine. RM400 will probably cover the windshield cost minus the tint, unless the tinting is some cheap RM200 brand.

So 2.0L owners will look to spend conservatively an additional RM3700 or so. While 2.5L owners look to spend about RM400+ for the spare tire and another RM2.5k at least if they replace their 19 inches. Won't be immediate money to spend but still have to spend nonetheless.

That's for 2.5L only, I reckon, due to the sensors attached (near the rear mirror) for iactivesense, around rm500 premium cover for rm7000 value

It depend how much windscreen you wanna insured. Rumors said 7k include sensors. I would not recommend to do that, unless your car hit by a big rock and damage the sensor, other wise a normal windscreen cover will do

For mazda6 you need 2.5 to 3k for front windscreen

To wait for PRU, unless PKR win and abolish the excise tax of 70% in 5 years time, and the car price would only drop slightly. If you intend to get cheaper car, recommend to get it after 3-5 years from now.

There is no separate cover for windscreen. Its actually all windows but the biggest cost is the windscreen usually. But if the car has a sunroof, then that becomes the bigger cost or equally as big as the windscreen.

A bit off-topic but oh well...

Some people are just delusional that they think that the moment PKR takes over federal government, car prices would drop drastically. For abolishment of taxes, they'd need to table it when parliament convenes. They'd need to implement new automotive policies which is usually tabled with the national Budget. After Budget announcement, MITI may review/update the NAP (National Automotive Policy) based on the new Budget. National budgets are usually announced around Sept-November, many years over October. Since Budget 2013 had already been announced September of last year, don't know how it'd be changed if there is a changed in federal govt. Will it follow through or can be amended/scrapped? Also, there are many other issues that have a higher priority than the automotive policies. Also, if new car prices drop... obviously RV of used car will fall as well.

Paultan posted this: 2013 PKR Manifesto Auto Related issues.

So those who's holding back because of the GE....  whistling.gif

then buy a new one now, and more luxurious one in 5 years... smile.gif ngam ngam

To wait for PRU, unless PKR win and abolish the excise tax of 70% in 5 years time, and the car price would only drop slightly. If you intend to get cheaper car, recommend to get it after 3-5 years from now.

Regarding push start system, some forumer was so afraid of cancer caused by some "wave". LOL

QUOTE(gunplakk @ Feb 23 2013, 08:21 AM)
this may sound like a stupid question and why on earth would i want to do this but is it possible to revert back to key start vs push button? Reason being is that all Start button tech requires the smart key to emit a wave constantly in car. of course then this wave is constantly travelling thru our bodies... i see this as unnecessary increase EMF exposure just because i last to turn the key.
these days with so many increase in cancer causes, and no one really knows why... i think no one really understands the risk of low EMF exposures. so all Civic 2.0 owners, note that you are constantly being exposed to waves all the time you are in your car. already as it is, there is a lot, wifi, 3G, mobile phones, bluetooth etc. adding more is not going to help.

Since 2.0L is using H11 Halogen bulbs with integrated projector housing. I will straight away change the bulbs once I get the car.
Philips Diamond Vision (5000K, 55W, 12V, H11 socket) or Crystal Vision (4300K, 55W, 12V, H11 socket) could be my choice. Some might opt for Osram as well.
So for people who are not concern about the Day Time Running Light, you do not need to seek for OEM headlight which cost you a few thousands.
Myvi LB also using H11. Here are some photos after changed to Philips Bulbs.

Bro. Be specific. If u ask me to do research, ill do it for u. Its rocket science bro. And its MEDICINE. Not a simple thing. Most of us ignore it because it doesnt have any proof that it will cause the "danger" that u meant. If yes defenitely we will take it far away from us. Who wants a "wave" that causing us danger. I might be wrong later because medicine keep on changing. But for now, theres NO EVIDENCE this radio "wave" can cause "danger". Enjoy urself bro. Dont be an OCPD. Google it if u dont know ocpd.

its not proven to cause, nor is it proven to not cause... has any research conclusively till today can say definitely safe? no. Canada already removing quite a few of the Wifi etc from schools to protect children. If you want to expose your kids to something that may or may not post a risk, its your choice. bottomline is that there is no proof either way. In such instance... Prudence is best. its up to you. again.. not need to argue. the choice is yours.. not trying to tell you its true or not. I myself not sure... but I am just saying prudence is best in uncertainty.

Here are some photos after changed to Philips Bulbs.

how much is the cost of changing those HID bulbs? OEM lights are nice though but not sure on price.

They are still halogen bulbs, same power consumption as standard halogen bulbs; no wiring / relays needed.
Not sure about the price though, haven't start survey for it.
