Hi All, I'm new here. Booked mine from Bermaz PJ (2.5 meteor Grey). Loan approved RHB 2.37 (7 years). Test drive the 2.5 yesterday. Everything is great except 1 thing which is not up to my expectation - the pick up power that I expecting from the 2.5 engine. Sorry this is my first time to own the D segment car. Is this the characteristic of the D segment car? I am comparing the feel with my Peugeot 308 (1.6 turbo). The adrenaline of the pick up is not there? Didn't manage to test the power in high speed as the traffic is quite heavy during the testing. Another issue is the synthesize engine sound from the speaker. To me I dont like it. I like to enjoy the quietness during the driving. The SA guaranteed me that the sound can be deactivated. Hope this is true? Hv any of you compared this M6 with the Passat (sport) & 508 in term of pick up? Any how I dont like the Passat look. As for the 508, I dont want double trouble when come to parts & problem as I hv 308 already. Wife & kids sit at the back like the comfort & space! The kids been noon stop asking why Papa cant take home the test unit!

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Feb 25 2013, 03:24 PM) Your current car has turbo, you're used to the feeling of getting pushed into your seat. The characteristic you felt is not based on the segment of the car, but the engine of the car. Turbo vs NA (normally aspirated). Torque is felt on a turbo engine at a much lower rpm than an NA powered car. Your 308 1.6 Turbo already makes 240 Nm but this new Mazda6 2.5 only pushes out 250Nm. Your 308 is lighter than the M6 too. For the Passat 1.8TSI which is also turbocharged, you can get full 250Nm torque at an even lower RPM, just from 1500RPM onwards (almost like Diesel engine performance). Acceleration on the Passat will definitely feel more "powerful" than the Mazda 6 and even the 308 Turbo. You will have the drive the 2.5 at least 3250rpm and above to feel full 250Nm torque else like many have said, it feels underpowered. Too bad in malaysia don't have the diesel variant, else it'd be perfect! STKM. Bro, tq for the technical explanation. I'm not the technical guy. Make decision base on feel good of the drive & look of the car. Guess now no need waste time go test drive the Passat & 508 la

QUOTE(Neo_Y @ Feb 25 2013, 03:26 PM) So again the comparison between NA and Turbo. Forced induction win hands down in term of initial acceleration. I myself booked the 2.0L and I know it is gonna be slower than my current ride (FD2). But I just like its comfy, smoothness, refinement, fit and finish, etc. Ask yourself about your priorities. If space and comfort are your pick, Mazda 6 is your best choice, despite any other Korean car. Or you might just listen to your wife and kids. The verdict is definitely M6 bro. Agreed with U. The feeling of the car is great. Now is the matter of when is the delivery

QUOTE(blu3 @ Feb 25 2013, 03:50 PM) Hey you clash with my colour To ensure you are not regret on this car, test drive few more times, go federal highway and press harder. You will know its tuning system Is very suitable for fuel efficiency. It's better to find passat or pug friend to race with you down the road. So you will know Good choice of colour bro. At first I booked white. But after see the actual car. I just love the crome lining contrast with grey colour. Will get my wife to drive the 308 & I drive the M6 to race!

QUOTE(fadzly @ Feb 25 2013, 04:48 PM) Welcome bro.,. MR PRESIDENT blu3 would glad to have u here! from 308 to m6! sooo fast? hehe who cares about high sale.. im glad it only 500.. baru exclusive.. KEKEKEKE.. both i want free.. thats is future.. no one can predict. if PR lose, we will still have low price car with our NAP by BN gov. the only thing now is my MYVI will also lose RV after PRU. thus its better to own and trade in now. U cant expect our bank interest would be the same either.. no harm of selling the car now near PRU. they wont lose anything. the only one losing are, 2ndhand car dealer and those who bought it earlier with high tax.. thats all.. TQ Mr President. no lah. 308 is wife's ride. Replacing my Vios of 9 yrs!

QUOTE(blu3 @ Feb 25 2013, 06:05 PM) At first I thought I was cheap, after that i only realize it is quite high among Japanese car, what to do, Sudah book and this is the only Japan car I prefer. Same here as I quite disappointed with the Bermaz pricing. But me have been searching for the right D segment car for the past 2 years. None hv convinced me to buy but this M6 did. Of course when U compare the price with Teana / Camry U will feel the pain. But I cant imagine myself to drive the 'Uncle Look' car lo. So dont compare la. Go for it if U love it & can afford it more importantly. Is like when U know U met ur wife

QUOTE(blu3 @ Feb 25 2013, 06:20 PM) Why don't try k5 K5 look really stunning. I love the silver colour especially! But still skeptical about Korean engine technology. After reading about the skyactive technology. I've decided to wait for it. Just found out from my cousin on K5 FC. Full tank RM120 doing around 600+ only.

QUOTE(fadzly @ Feb 25 2013, 07:02 PM) 600km for full tank is not good? Im quite surprise. Enlighten me plz what should be the milage Base on this data, it is 20 cent / km for K5. If the M6 FC claim is correct (8L/100km) for 2.5. Then it is 16 cents/km. For 2.0 it will be 6L/100 so it is 0.12cents/km. Anyway it is depend very much on one driving style lah. If not mistaken, CX5 kaki is doing around 650 - 700KM for full tank.

QUOTE(Seng21 @ Feb 25 2013, 10:19 PM) Somebody post this up in another forum. Maintenance cost . How does this compared to passat, 509, Camry and accord? I just done my normal service for my vios. Change full synthetic oil 4L & oil filter. That cost me around RM310. So the M6 service is reasonable? Hw come the cost for 5 year is lower for 2.5 version?

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Feb 25 2013, 10:53 PM) At first glance, it is no more costlier than my previous Corolla Altis, at least for the 1st 2 service. Once it hits 30k, the prices are quite comparable to a continental such as a Golf TSI. I haven't done my Passat service yet so I can't comment if in the long term the prices are similar or cheaper. I know sleepy has a PUG508, if he can come here and comment on his service prices, then we have something usable to compare it against. My 308 normal service cost me around RM500. The oil already cost me RM300 plus

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Feb 26 2013, 07:00 AM) Sold off last April. I traded it in for my new car but got them to register a KL plate. Easy enough. Dealers in KL were only offering me me around 34K that time. So getting an extra 4K in Ipoh was well worth it. So u hv to drive down to Ipoh to look for dealer? Last year June the dealer quoted me 40k. But in Recent feb only 31k. It is huge value dropped. I expect it around 35k. Dealer claim that the new Almera has caused the drop of vios value.
