Wow. Your camera really good. Can zoom in so clear. You pasang correctly.

After I pasang mercun 10 days ago, today found the FC worse then before. smile.gif No choice. I have to accept it. But for sure my 6-speed 1.6SX engine slightly smooth and better when climb up hill.

Me too....2 weeks old, rattling sound is bad....real bad, felt embarrass when someone sit in my new car and said "eh, what's that noise ah?" i was like......... sad.gif
*
This is very common now. I would say almost Forte having rattling sound problem on dashboard. I complaint and SC opened up the dashboard showed to me. All clips clips here and clips clips there. No choice, it is local assembly problem.

The SC helped to put more adhesives on the clips to avoid the rattling sound. sad.gif

does it help ?
*
Oh Yes.. It really help. Reduced a lot the rattling sound. But you have to be prepare. When they correct out your air con vent, they may scratch your dashboard.

Now no more rattling sound on air con vent part, but then I heard very tiny noise klink klink klink after 10-15 mins drive... sound from parts below steering I guess... sad.gif

Asked SC, they said ok, I give up and lazy go back to FC. Just leave it like that and turn on Radio louder.

Test unit is like that .... 80K++ (1.6 ) to get C Segment car .. where you can get after Preve and Inspira? thumbup.gif

This is heavy / solid car ... that you have to pay 110K++ for others.

1.6SX

Last Saturday test drive.

The rattling sound actually can be solve?
*
I can't tell exactly. For my case, it get reduced a lot. Some other said will come back after few months. And then some lucky guys never hit this problem.

Well, also many other brand having rattling sounds if unlucky. Yes forte is quite obvious.

Also depends on service centre kung fu too.

Before I bought this car, I also heard rattling sound during the test drive. So I did prepare for this problem before I bought.

Probably most of the car have this issues, even my company car Peugeot 308 also I can hear rattling sound.
*
Yeah. I believe they really need to take this seriously when they assemble the car parts. the rattling sound really annoying especially you drive on uneven roads. I always drive in industrial area and it is very bad experience. I couldn't stand anymore so last 2 months I asked the SC buka dashboard even though I know my dashboard might get scratched or worse case will have more rattling sounds.

I request the SC allowed me to sit it with the foreman and monitor closely. There all are nice enough to fix it. Well, it scratched my dashboard. But I know this is unavoidable because they have to cucuk the tool into the gap between dashboard and air-con vent beside HU in order to take it out. That is the 'price' you have to sacrifice.

And now.. Very less rattling sound and drive more comfortable icon_rolleyes.gif

Yupp..it's normal for hydraulic power steering coz it got its 'hydraulic power' direct from the engine (the hydraulic pump is connected directly to the engine by belt & pulley). But for Forte 2.0 which uses the motor driven power steering (MDPS, EPS or whatever the name is), there's no such thing (rpm increase when turning the steering wheel during idle) coz it's been driven by electric motor instead wink.gif
*
Yeah .. That is what I guess too. smile.gif So can I say if want to save fuel, better don't use short cut road pusing sana pusing sini. Right?

bro, mind to tell which SC you sent to resolve the rattling noise and how many days you need to leave your car? thanks.
*
Sorry to tell you it is in Penang but not KL. sad.gif They asked me to leave for them 1-2 days. But I insist I know where the sound comes from and asked them to fix that part only (air con vent beside HU). So they just opened up my HU and both air-con vents and add more adhesives to the clips.

You have to do booking first.

Oh, you're from Penang...So JNS able to fix my rattling issue right? i'll call to book first...
Hope they do not scratch my dashboard  sweat.gif

And I would like to give advice to those want to fix rattling dashboard.

1. It will take times. You better go during weekdays. If weekend, they will advice you bring back during weekdays or offpeak days.
2. You have to pointed out which area having problem. Don't let the foreman simply buka everything. That will make the thing even worse. I know my problem on air con vent + HU, and I only allowed them open that part only. And I believe save time.
Without specify the detail, normally they will ask you leave the car there and test for 1 or 2 days. And also you donno if they buka everything.

I am not saying JNS is expert to fix rattling sound. But I can comment is, they are very helpful and willing listen to suggestion. And work according to the point giving problem only.

Important Point:
- Don't blame if problem still persist after they tried to fix it. Because this is assembly problem. Not only Forte, other car also having this problem.
- Don't blame if they scratch your dashboard, heart so pain when I found get scratched, but I prepared for that before I went there. And I know it is very difficult to open you dashboard.

So. Good luck! smile.gif

^ Ya ah? When I was in Kinrara SC, I saw them pour the whole bottle into corong turas, leave the bottle on corong turas and walk away. When they are back, the bottle is empty. They even drain out the oil from the bottle as if there are not enough gravy on the steak.

This is not me alone. The other mak cik's koup is done with the same procedure. Just that ther service guy did not walk away. He sees through the 'pour all' process.

I have read in V11 that xion city at that time had excessive engine oil and AT oil. That is why the performance drop. I do feel that the car is heavier after this 1st service. Maybe it is because of the still new engine oil. However, looking at what xion city posted, I got worried a little, hence I asked.
*
Maybe the bottle is 3.5litre that's why they poured everything even single drop. If 4 litres, then you should complain. That guy is insane. That will make your engine heavy and difficult to perform.

I have just checked the oil level at 2pm. No car movement before this from 8 am this morning. I pull out the dip stick, wipe it off, dip in again and check the oil level. The dip stick shows that the oil level is approximately 2mm to 3mm below the full line. Then I guess that the oil poured in does not exceed the max level. But I am very very sure that they poured in the whole bottle till the last drop.

Tyre pressure is at 33psi. Therefore it is not the tyre factor.

So I guess it is the 'thick, new' oil effect. Will continue to observe the 'acceleration feel' and update.

During the 1st service I am also very sure that they have only touched the oil and the oil filter. I peeped through the window. They did not change or even touch anything else.
*
Check the oil level the morning is the best.

Do you know what grade what brand of engine oil they give to you?

My service was in Kinrara SC. The standard Petronas oil that they recommend. I did not hold an look at the bottle, but it looks like it. If I am not mistaken Synthium 3000?
*
Hmmm hmm.gif

Actually I asked them to give me Synthium 3000 5W30. You check your receipt and see... Hope they give you the same thing. Another option they will give me is Korean Engine Oil. No other what brand is it.
