is there any age limit for keeping our money in epf?  Lets say one retires at age 55 but still wanna keep his money in epf until 70, possible and eligible for annual divvy?
*
looks like 75 is the max....b4 they classified it as unclaimed...

Unclaimed Contribution Information Criteria:
•Aged 75 years and above as at 31 December 2014 or birthdate is unknown
•Has balance in the account as at 31 December 2014
•No annual dividend withdrawal which is still active

If 75 im happy, the base amount can still draw annual divident which is better than fd 😄😄
*
yes, some like you would be happy for that too.
but there are others that would not be happy to follow this route.

How about withdrawing rm1.00/year to make sure it's active so that they don't classify it as inactive by 75 years old?
*
hmm.gif what about this sentence?...

Unclaimed Contribution Information Criteria:
•Aged 75 years and above as at 31 December 2014 or birthdate is unknown

I think what it meant is the account holder must be 75 years old with no withdrawal performed.

From what I know, after a certain age. EPF will stop giving dividends. But one still can withdraw the money out. But I am not sure at what age. So after reach that age, better take all out and dump into FD as no dividends will be given.
*
so if what you have mentioned above is true.....
wondering if this "How about withdrawing rm1.00/year to make sure it's active so that they don't classify it as inactive by 75 years old?" worthwhile to do? smile.gif

Q1 already fall what u expect Q2 n final ?
*
falls in income is not lost money.
if last year made 50 million,...this year made 5 million (90% drops in income)......is still not lost.
further more this is just 1 qtr.
definitely not "EPF loss money" as posted.

I can accept what are you telling to me.
Q1 income fall basically already big problem for me
*
may I know why it is a big problem for you?
are you 1 of the members of the EPF investment advisory board member or member of the FH that EPF placed the investment money in?....
I would not worry bcos if worst come to worst...I will still get 2.x% of dividend

it forces me to save for retirement
prevented my temptation to withdraw at ease
reduces my taxable income.
allows me to dream of what I want do when I get the money.
hmm.gif I think got some more.

Let say malaysia down, are epf still will keep our money?
And due to politic issue, our PM use epf money go invest some useless share.
I am worry our epf money will suck dry n pay debt for other country.
*
blink.gif ONLY if and when that happens.....

on current clear and present issues...what are the chances of that happens?
talking about politic issues...there are many in the majority race is EPF contributors too.
will it be suicidal for a political party of that majority race to do that?
I would not worry about something beyond my control....like epf money being suck dried?
before that can happens most of the goods and food that we buy now will have increased by many %...due to ....which parties is in control of most of our main consumable products?
I would not worry because I see minor changes of that happening and also because I cannot say no to EPF. que sera sera....
can you not contribute to EPF?

seriously leh - not teasing
if donkey EPF thinggy affects "across the fence" PRS thinggy.. i want to know leh sweat.gif
*
just for discussion sake.....is it possible....??
with the syariah EPF things...
if the amount of RM (a lot of people switched) are in Syariah compliance....
more Syariah Eq stocks will be supported by EPF
less Non Syariah EQ compliance stocks will be supported by EPF....

will there be affects on the non syariah compliance stocks prices in M'sia Eq?
I did not follow on stock markets.....just checking, is currently those non syariah compliance KLCI stocks supported by EPF?
if they reduce the % of holdings in those stocks b'cos the amount available by the EPF money is reduced for conventional type.
possible "cheaper" non compliance stocks prices?
thus affects some other investment like UTs?

Isn't withdraw from account 1 > invest into PRS only? (since we cannot touch the money directly until one reaches retirement sge). So if we choose a Syariah compliant EPF account, withdraw from Syariah compliant EPF account 1 > Syariah compliant PRS ONLY. No?
Sorry if wrong. Noobie here.
*
Can I withdraw from my EPF to contribute to the PRS?

The PRS is a supplementary form of retirement savings in addition to the EPF and is voluntary in nature.
Members are not permitted by law to withdraw from EPF to contribute to the PRS.

i welcome the volatility if it happens - else no chance to buy things like NESTLE on fear tongue.gif

anyhow - i'm asking whether EPF has a direct control over PRS now with such Syariah thinggy
pretty non-compliance leh if true
*
hmm.gif maybe indirectly "control" local focused PRS by buying more compliance and throwing out non compliance stocks in the Klci mkt
......once the money is available and the conversion process starts ...maybe slowly as not to shock the mkts...

btw,...just found this
NESTLE is Syariah compliance stock....

ya-lor...maybe that is part of the parcel to get another 5% up the score board ...

“Seventy-five per cent and above is very good and above 80 per cent would be excellent. We want to try and achieve at least 80 next year,” he told reporters after the announcement of the index score.
