Does anyone have access to Cindy’s latest article? ”Would multimillionaire EPF savers help poorer members?”

Higher 1-3 % on 10k doesn’t matter anyway, focus on ensuring that they can upskill these people to get jobs so the 10k increases instead.

I don’t understand how they can even propose for amounts below 1m, at least give people the opportunity to fully exit the country so they can subsidize with their own non existent funds.

Focus on increasing your income instead. That is within your power. Tiering incentivizes wrong mindset.

Well I will be the happy ones as I have less than a million inside EPF. biggrin.gif
You can't please everyone.

The delay must be to keep a good vibe for Johor election. Sigh, Malaysian governance.. just get on with it.

It is precisely this mentality that has alienated investments to Malaysia.

QUOTE(vorshre @ Feb 26 2022, 07:56 PM)
whats the fuss about the tiered dividend? whatever amount in excess of RM1miilion is allowed to be withdrawn anytime, so please invest yourself elsewhere and get better return for yourself. instead of keep on harping on lousy govn policies yet you are still dependent on epf/govn dividend.

nothing to do with investment into malaysia. we are talking solely on epf tiered dividend here

Where do you think your EPF money is being invested? One large pot is MGS and Bursa Malaysia. So change that and these funds disappear, simple as that.

Is the source credible? Hoping for tomorrow - March is to far away 🙃

to induce people towards a certain behaviour…

Save more, earn more. The higher your savings the higher dividend rate you should get.

ppl usually don't suddenly have 60k.... anyways we were discussing limitations on the online compound interest calculator and how to go about managing its input.... lol

I do 60k in January, never investigated if it affects the dividend differently but the amounts have been reflected properly. I suppose I would get 11/12 of % for that or according to a daily interest calculation - anyone knows?

100%?????????????    rclxub.gif

So this year, i can ask my employer to contribute all my post tax salary to EPF.   laugh.gif

I did 80% at one point, no issues. Any govt naturally wants more to save for retirement and this also does not affect the employer.

That is good to know. With FD so low. This is surely another investment avenue. Even for short term since i am already 60.

Yes, as long as the institution remains free from political interference. I think it is a smart way to promote retirement savings among population, we have the same scheme where I am living now.

Expenses can supported by dividends from other investments. Right now with FD at such lows, EPF can be used as a temporary shelter.
Nothing to hide form LHDN.

Agreed, fully depends on your lifestyle and past savings culture. You may have alternative revenue streams.
