Wonβt be rushing as whatever sold here is older models while it is cheaper to buy overseas π€¦ββοΈ
Even SG recently increased GST but still no rush and crowds buy luxury goods
Those who buy luxury goods will always be from abroad not just because of the price but the exclusivity and the rarity of the item itself hence the tax is peanuts compared to it
The luxury tax will hit hardest to those reseller of those goods ie 3rd party stores π
The truly rich won't be bothered. Won't be a problem for them. It's only those pretending to be rich needs to kiasu buy luxury brands at the cheapest price.

https://www.pwc.com/my/en/publications/mtb/...income-tax.htmlUpdated publication of tax increases on the T20-5.
Biggest hit is on those earning 600k to 1 million.
They do not want to tax their rich cronies.
Instead they raise the taxes on those earning from 100k to 1mil.

M40 benefits from this.
Reason I put it as T20-5. Top 5% is untouched.
Its the bottom T20 which is made to pay.
This is true...it is ridiculous to consider RM100k as T20 at all. Even without 7 anak, it's just middle class at best. Hopes Rapizi can quickly recategorize all this nonsense, as he has mentioned about it not too long ago.
