Bro, quite a lot of people start at B40 without silver spoon, including me. I've worked as sales assistant, waiter, clerk, etc. earning below 1k (with EPF)
Then working full time, take evening/night courses part-time. Since pay with own money, discipline and commit to attend all classes no matter how tired. Even if heavy rain, traffic, etc. Ride kapchai since cost & time & parking saving instead of driving car. Don't give own excuse. Submit each and every homework, assignment, project.
Repeat for many years until graduate. Really no life, no partner, no go out with friends, no entertainment, nothing! Cause no papparich or rich mama. No tongkat. No scholarship.
Then work to find ways to go higher to get better package. Get out of comfort zone in same company or same job.
Slowly grow EPF savings. Then top-up more. First aim 100k takes decades then. Then target 200k, then 300k, 500k, 750k, 1M ... now target 2M ... the compounding effect is greater the more you have. First 100k really can't see light. From 500k to 1M takes just years, much faster than 100k to 500k. 1M to 2M based on my projection, will take less time than 500k to 1M. Power of compounding.
Everyone has different lifestyle and spending. Start tracking your daily expenses, into monthly, then yearly. Then for few years.
Assuming 3M @ 5%p.a. = 150k = RM12.5k/mth
Factor in some inflation maybe worth half only like 6k/mth, enough for your spending ? As we get old, we can't eat rich food or drink too much already.
Some 2k/mth also more than enough for their lifestyle. Some 50k/mth also say not enough. In Malay, "ukur baju di badan sendiri"

You sir I salute you.
You r an inspiration for the underprivileged. I really admire people like you.
