QUOTE(cybpsych @ Mar 3 2018, 08:39 PM) Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members who nominate Amanah Raya Bhd as the nominee/ administrator or trustee of their EPF savings will be charged a two percent flat rate as an estate administration fee. Thanks.https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017...aya-as-nominee/ If a member chooses to nominate ARB as nominee, then ARB will act as an administrator for all member’s savings. A member can also appoint ARB as Trustee for a minor nominee who is below 18 years old. Estate administration fee will be charged a 2% flat rate of the total amount of member’s savings upon the members’ demise. meaning, u nominate ARB to manage your estate/harta, and they will kaotim the rest. if you're under 18yo, ARB will be your trustee or penjaga for the estate/harta. i think la, not sure what happen after you reach 18yo. this is why, ALWAYS PUT NONIMATIONS to your EPF, and update it periodically if there's a need. if no nomination, you need a will or nominate ARB or lawyer to get the money out. with epf nomination, your family can kaotim directly with epf by submitting forms. straightforward affair. I already have the EPF nominations in place. I still need to get my will done. Thus when I saw the FREE will, I am interested. Ha. Any other fee beside the 2%? Will ask ARaya. 2% is quite a lot, 250k = 5k, 500k = 10k, 750k = 15k, 1 million = 20k, 5 million = 100k etc. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(manoftilelowyat @ Jul 2 2018, 03:27 PM) Hi Guys, Need your advise on the EPF dividend. The interest is calculated on daily basis.Lets say in my account, i have a balance of RM700K as on 1 Jan 2017. Sometime in 2017, I withdraw 50K, ending up with the year end 2017 balance of 650K. On 10 Feb 2018, EPF declared 6.9% of dividend for the year of 2017. How will the dividend be worked out? How much dividend will I get for the following situations:-- (1)IF I withdraw 50K on 2 Jan 2017, with the 2017 year end balance of 650K? (2)IF I withdraw 50 K on 30 Dec 2017, with the 2017 year end balance of 650K? Thank you for the anticipated help. Get a spreadsheet and try it. |

My annual visit to guesstimate the EPF % ....
Looks very good with the highest Q1-3 figures in 2018! Using past few years Q4 averages and std deviation, my guesstimates: zero Q4 6.6% average Q4 6.98% average Q4 +1 sd dev 7.12% Bear in mind this is based on just extrapolating the % based on the total yearly revenues. This is not 100% correct as the yearly principles are different and on the increase. Plus they may want to keep some bullets for the coming recession. Guess I will be happy if its 6.8% or higher. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 20 2018, 01:25 PM) interesting findings 2017 revenue was very good, should be > 7% as per my guesstimate. But got only 6.9%. I think they took some for keeping in view of the sudden bad news on global market the week before the announcement. Remember the EPF big boss said the rate should be between x and y but the bumi EPF one came out lower than that? My gut feel was a last minute change. Surely the big boss would not be that careless to announce the wrong very important numbers, especially for the bumi EPF. so can safely assume 6% is in hand now... just we needed to know if Q4 can perform or not For the same taken, they may want to safe keep some for later use. Just hope what they took for safekeeping last year will appear in 2018 revenue. |

QUOTE(scyther @ Dec 20 2018, 12:44 PM) Sorry a noob question to ask. Dont quite understand your question. From your above chart, is it means that total earning is sum of all Q1 till Q4 ? means if Q1 = 1% Q2 = 2% is the means total earning is 3% if calculate till Q2 ? Simply put, the money they earn (or loss) for the 365 days in a year will be used in determining the %. |

QUOTE(Ash_bellerin @ Dec 20 2018, 03:00 PM) When is the next recession expected to hit? Does EPF interest rate typically drops during recession? Your guess on the next recession is as good as anyone's. But ... It is what your look ahead and backup/mitigation plan that matter to you. My gut feel is it will be in 2019, hopefully after EPF 2018 dividend has been announced. Ha. I can take normal global stock daily fluctuations but the fluctuations now are worrying. Something is just not right now, too many things waiting for a trigger to get the domino going. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(kochin @ Jan 2 2019, 05:28 PM) https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/441637 Interesting.increased in contribution outnumbering the increase of withdrawal so net net still inflow more than outflow. performance need to be better than last year by approx 4% just to match last year declaration. From my old data up to 2016, Mine is fund size annual increases, taken from annual reports. So if we can compare these apples, then 2018 is still pretty good. QUOTE(StarPrimo @ Jan 5 2019, 02:13 PM) Suggest the nice approach first. Sort this out first with your company before you raise it with EPF. I think there is a heavy fine for those not paying employee EPF contributions. If they got a heavy fine, then susah for you nanti. Ha. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 31 2019, 03:57 PM) If before CNY, then most likely good news, at least not as bad as below 6% (though I expected it to be very good as Q1-3 have done very well).Hope for the good news for a cheerful & happier CNY dinner on Mon evening! Ha. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 16 2019, 01:18 PM) I think EPF is playing mind game with us, hinting that it would very BAD looking at KLCI etc with media on their line hook, preparing us for a lower % than 6.9%Now it is lower than 6.9% and some still think it is OK, a relief from the very bad %. Like I said before Q1+2+3 revenues were very good, higher than 2017 year TOTAL. Unless Q4 was negative (which I doubt), this 6.15 should be above 6.9% Like to have a look at the 2018 annual report. |

QUOTE(john123x @ Feb 17 2019, 02:20 PM) try google "EPF dividend calculation", and then create your own excel. Thanks.its awfully accurate, and only miss by 2 cent Dividend is not calculated from the deposit date, its calculated from "end of the month". example: interest from RM1000 deposit on 15 may is same with interest from deposit on 25may. I have used my Excel for many years now. All spot on in the past until now. I dont think it is monthly rest but daily rest. Cheerio. |

QUOTE(Aghi @ Sep 11 2019, 12:20 AM) Thanks. What a contrast with a recent article on 0.56% 1H 2019 revenue drop (about RM70 million), warning about lower 2019 EPF dividend. If RM70 million difference can make such a big difference in the final dividend, then I better get out of EPF. Ha. |

My estimate after a long long calculation, 5.05%.
Why so low? Just look at the flagship ASB latest 5% + 0.5%. No one can do better than this BIG brother mah. Hope I am wrong. |

QUOTE(return78 @ Jan 14 2020, 10:58 AM) PNB is much smaller than EPF in term of fund size. 301bil (pnb as of May 2019) vs 859bil (epf as of Q1 2019) Not saying you are wrong, sometimes getting too big can itself be a problem, more difficult to perform at its best. From history ... I have not updated my spreadsheet for the past few years. Too lazy to do it now. So just used the data I have. Historical trend is no guarantee but it is a good indicator, predictor. But hope I am wrong this time. |

QUOTE(return78 @ Jan 14 2020, 10:38 PM) While EPF is having more realistic return all these years and almost half of their investment in fixed income asset along with profit reserved, while oversea investment was the main driver for the income (diversified to other better performed market unlike Malaysia equity market). However, for last 3 consecutive quarters, their profit had dip around 12% for y2y comparison. My 2 cents, when things are good, the dividend may be slightly higher or even lower! Maybe to save some money for the coming bad years? But when things are bad, one gets the lower number with comments like "very tough economy, etc., etc. " Cheerio. |
